With the horrendous crash of China's economy this year, especially its housing market, it is logical and long-expected for wealthy Chinese to invest in the comparatively risk-free Thai housing & business sectors. It's also happening a lot in Laos, as it has a border with China and is still a fellow communist country. Most locals aren't happy about it, as it's pushing the prices of most things up. Take your religious beliefs elsewhere
@philmac9032 oh well see you at THE GREAT WHITE THRONE OF JUDGMENT !
Along with travel insurance, you should also have the relevant licences and experience before renting a motorcycle or car. A motorcycle is a great way to get around, but if you can’t ride one in your own country you definitely should not ride one in Thailand or SE Asia.
If I remember correctly, there were several cases over the years that Americans either died or got seriously ill from drinking cheap alcohol in Mexico laced with methanol. Be ware of bars offering all you can drink for a cheap price.
The spiking of drink sounds a little like the Serpent (Charles Sobhraj ) is it suspicious? Nothing wrong with Nigel Farage .. he just speaks his mind stand up for working class seen Labour don’t now . 😂😂
Thailand and Burmese people have been Buddhist strongholds since Genghis became Chinese, notwithstanding Bangladesh and Pakistan are the cousins that kept the Mughals honest when Sri Lanka sailed the Straits of Malacca
Chiang Mai- i live in Hang dong. Why is it Chinese can buy property here and I cannot? I am building a house and and had to put my property in a third persons name (relative). I can understand why people want out of China
With the horrendous crash of China's economy this year, especially its housing market, it is logical and long-expected for wealthy Chinese to invest in the comparatively risk-free Thai housing & business sectors. Clearly this will be an area where money could fuel corruption of local officials in order to bend the rules.
It's also happening a lot in Laos, as it has a border with China and is still a fellow communist country. Most locals aren't happy about it, as it's pushing the prices of most things up. Chinese are investing a lot in Laos especially since the Chinese owned fast train was built and opened a few years ago. They also operate some casinos there.
7:22 ... yes, health insurance and may be a few vacs: Typhoid desease, rabies, hepatitis, JE
The drinking age in Thailand is 20, right? So if those two Danish 19-year-old girls had been transported to a Thai hospital by family or others, they would have been arrestted?
They were drinking alcohol legally in Laos. Going into Thailand even if still drunk, doesn’t mean they’ve committed an offence by going there intoxicated.
happend in laos
@Wilko11 but the point of the post was you can consume pot legally in Thailand and be arrested for having it in your body upon arrival elsewhere. Same circumstance, and if one is not driving under the influence, then why is one enforced and the other not?

Alcohol is legal or at least tolerated in most countries, whereas pot is the opposite.
Last time I was in phi phi 20 years ago I didn’t see much motorbikes
Terrible news about the young tourists and the moonshine alcohol. Their parents must be devastated. The English teacher seems to be in a world of trouble. When you’re teaching here ( low wages ) it’s expensive for medical insurance Let’s hope that it turns out alright for him
He would be getting free government hospital care if he was currently contracted as a teacher in Thailand with work permit.
Very sad that young people get poisened while they want to party in Laos because of greed
If Mr Davis was teaching, his Work Permit will suport Public Healthcare.
I live in Hang Dong and two weeks ago the house very near me was bought buy a Chinese. Since he moved in more Chinese are in the moo ban everyday now looking at other houses…..so this story is spot on. We have had zero Chinese in this moo ban before.
😊💙🤗
What an irony, the Brits 🇬🇧 saying people from Thailand 🇹🇭 can’t bring in grass 🥦
We are living in strange times … strange times indeed !!!
Steve Rosse will have to be more careful with his handling of "broccoli" if he ever returns to Turtle Beach.
Steve never left Turtle Beach
Phi phi
How many dead and seriously ill already from this methanol in alcoholic beverages? Hmm... Pot doesn't seem so bad, does it now? 🤔
I don’t think we’re playing the ‘my drug is better than yours’ game. Two people have died.
That you have taken the time to peddle your pro-cannabis agenda on the dead bodies of two women is disgusting and despicable.
You're right. *Nobody* has ever died from laced weed.
Addict.
Just saying guys...It is what it is. And i seem to remember a while ago on this very channel when it was reported that some guy accidentally (or on purpose) fell off a condo/hotel balcony after apparently smoking pot, many here were quick to blame pot. But now when alcohol is involved in these tragic deaths... Not a good time to make any kind of observations or associations, right?
@ to be clear, with your tortured logic, this alcohol has been poisoned or tainted. It’s not the alcohol, persee, that is killing these people. Trying to score points on the back of some dead tourists is a bit crass.
Phi phi is so small would u need a moped lol
In Thailand neither woman would be old enough to drink. 20 years old in Thailand.
They weren’t in Thailand when they consumed the drink
There are several small tourist islands south of Krabi. Thanks for all you do!🙏🧜♂️
Kho kood chicken island
... isn't it called Koh Kai / เกาะไก่ ?
nothing wrong with building a 2nd home somewhere, no matter where they may be from, as long as they show respect to where they are and not behave like they do back home!!
Lao(s)… I’m sure the western international pronunciation gurus say otherwise… but nonetheless, it is a little difficult on the ears to hear it pronounced less than correctly 🙏🏼
I have checked this pronunciation over the 13 years.
