I think a lot of walleye guys are comfortable with Open Face Spinning reels for both casting and vertical jigging. I also think most walleye guys like the drags system better and some like the ability to reverse spin. Some of the bass guys like to get fish out of water quick as they can.

Why do walleye guys almost always cast cranks on spinning gear, and bass fisherman almost always use baitcasting gear?
