A 1 ingredient ice cream: banana. chop in rough pieces, freeze (-18°C), put in food-processor with blades until creamy, serve immediately. It doesn't get any easier, but I'd like to see your reaction.
Hello from Montreal! Well I have been whipping ice cream with sweet condense milk for years with no ice cream machine bcz in the kitchenette of a small condo the space is limited for a ice cream machine.... I whip the cream, very cold, in the very cold stainless steel bowl of my kitchenaid mixer, when the cream is "almost" making peaks I put in it while beating with the wire whisk attachment, the cold sweet milk.. then in the freezer for a few hours.... For those like me who are allergic to eggs, it's a dream ice cream! Thanks for this lemon recipe, I will try make it this WE... Have a great day!
I have no ice. Cream making devices. I make this by whipping the cream, adding an egg yolk to the condensed milk, flavor and any additives, fold together, putvin a 9x13 baking tin and cover with foil, freeze overnight. Best creamy stuff ever.
I look forward to every one of your videos, Glen. Sometimes I will see something else online which will get me down a little, but then I come here and watch you, and the stress just melts away. No conflict, no drama, just very calming, soothing, and to the point.
Can I say, thank you for doing things like telling the fat percentage in the cream. Steps like that are incredibly important for people who don't live in US+Canada - as everything is a little bit different. Thankfully Evaporated Milk and Condensed Milk are pretty much the same the world over.
@@Adam-eo5ff Evaporated milk is just slightly dried milk. Add water for regular milk. Its not a lifehack, the can itself says this. Used this quite a lot to save money. I have just enough to not have to skimp on food but I always buy the cheap brands and stuff like that
I just made this using the same ice cream freezer you have. I only used 1 cup of cream and added 1 cup of milk for the balance. It turned out great. It was still super creamy but with less fat and cost. It also became stiff enough that it didn't require any additional freezing, which might be because of less cream, or maybe my unit just freezes a little longer. Great recipe, thanks!
I am very happy to find this one, my grandparents used to make something called 1,2,3 Lemon Ice Cream in the summer, I believe this is that recipe and cannot wait to make it.
We use a lot of this combo (heavy cream + condensed milk) for not only ice creams, but also for fruit mousses. Try that with limes instead of lemons: will taste even more refreshing! :) Love your videos, man, thank you so much!
Oh my gosh. I had a lemon ice cream from an ice cream van. It tasted so nice. I immediately wanted to make my own. After seeing this, it has inspired me more to make it because it's so easy. It also looks delicious.
Love love love your channel. I’m a stay at home dad to two and do all the cooking, and my older son and I love watching your videos. I made this recipe today - my first time making ice cream, and I made it by hand, mixing every 30 minutes or so. Came out rich, creamy, fluffy, with no ice crystals! My one head scratcher is, man, is there any way to get away with less sugar? That one can of condensed milk has 250 g of sugar! Thanks for everything.
Glad you enjoyed it! The extra sugar (and type of sugar) in the condensed milk is unfortunately one of the components that keeps it creamy without ice crystals.
I made this this afternoon, my first time making one of your recipes: IT'S SO GOOD! Creamy beyond belief and wonderfully lemony. I'll definitely make it again.
Hey! On the topic of ice cream. I was in europe a few years ago and stumbled on an ice cream stand that served carrot ice cream. It had what appeared to be micoplaned pieces of carrot and carrot juice in it. I would love to see you replicate this and get your thoughts! If you ever feel up to it :)
Very good and doable recipe, thank you as this is my favorite ice cream flavor, ok it runs neck and neck with chocolate, so thanks again for such an easy recipe. 💛🙋🏽
Make my ice-cream in a similar way, (just ditch the maker and whisk the cream to just before it turns to whipped cream, then add the condensed milk) then try popping a few shots of your favourite spirit in and freeze...jobs a good 'un.
I actually like those little simple Lemon juicers, The more efficient in a more practical, and I get the job done, It’s amazing how when the new gadgets come out we tend to gravitate back to the old-fashioned ones because they actually got the job done, It wasn’t that sophisticated now but they work extremely well! Thanks you! For your recipe I went searching for lemon ice cream recipe that was simple but yet to the point and very flavorful. 👩🏾🦲😘👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏾
I made a variation on this a few months ago without the lemon juice, just whisking the cream to a stiffer consistency. It’s an amazing ice cream and I can’t believe it took me so long to find
My Mum used to make this, called it Lemon Surprise (not sure why) and passed on the recipe to me - sooo much tastier than you can ever imagine, and such a refreshing way to finish a meal.
Love this one!!! I’m curious after seeing several of your lemon concoctions. Meringue, gelato and this. Do you have a favorite? You both pick flavor profiles that we ❤️ love
Just found you on TH-cam. I was looking for an easy icecream recipe and this is a amazing!!!!! I just made it with my Cuisineart icecream maker. So easy and I had all the ingredients so I did not have to go to the store to purchase anything. I am going to see if you have an easy banana ice cream recipe as this one rocks!!!!
I just made this and transfered it to the freezer from the Cuisinart to harden up. Of course I got a taste as it transferred. It's good! Seems like it'd make a great (and easy) base for other fruit ice creams. I may try a lemon-strawberry ice cream next.
Couldn’t wait to try this! Just finished a batch for my grandkids, it was great! And I didn’t even try to turn it into scrambled eggs first! Love your channel keep up the great content!
You can make this without a machine by whipping the cream to at least soft peaks or just before stiff peaks, continue to mix while adding the sweetened condensed milk (refrigerate over night) and add the lemon zest/juice at the end. Place in containers and freeze overnight or longer.
So simple. Thank you! And if you don't have ice cream maker, do you just stick it in the freezer or do you keep it mixing at room temp and then to freezer? How about easy coffee and chocolate ice cream? I bet you can come up with something great!!!!👌
Greetings from the far north of Germany! About the disliking of the texture of zest: my take on it would be to let the cream sit in the fridge for some 2hrs and then strain it. That should solve the problem. I need to see if I can get sweet condesed milk over here. Plus I'd like to make that with lime. I once made a chocolate ice cream that a friend stated to be the best she ever had. I could translate the recipe for you, if you want me to. Stay safe, everyone!
Have you tried to make beer ice cream? Surprisingly good! I just gently reduced a few bottles of porter to a syrup and used it to flavor a basic ice cream recipy.
Really liked this one - The texture isn't quite as smooth as some of the others but the flavour is really nice. I wonder if adding Milk Powder and Corn Syrup like many of the other recipes do would help with that.
Wonderful video and a recipe that even an old guy (ha, ha) can handle ---- just enough but not too many ingredients. Three (3) is a good number, LOL. Loved that delicious Canadien 'accent', too.
38 degrees C here in Brittany; the perfect solution to cool off! Curious; if I added a little limoncello to the mix, would the alcohol slow down--or stop--the freezing process? Thanks again!
hi i don't have an ice cream maker. can i ask if i can whip the cream to soft peaks then put the lemon and then put the condensed milk? hope to hear from you. would that be the same? super thanks for sharing!
Biscuits. Add biscuits. The crunchy element really adds something to ice cream, for so little additional effort. Id leave out the combinations, because Im sure everyone has different stuff they prefer. But personally I did oreos. Perhaps stiffened/dried slices of cake cut into chunks could work well? idk
Made this yesterday in a cuisinart, its pretty good! Definitely only need a few scoops at a time though. I propose you try to make banana ice cream with real bananas.
Hello Glenn, I would venture to guess that most people (including me) don’t have an ice cream maker. Can you tell us how to make your great 3 ingredient ice cream using another method. Would love to try this recipe but am not going to go out and buy a new machine and then have to find a place to put it!
Thanks for this one Glenn, looks pretty tasty and delicious. Btw, any chance you show us how to make gelato at home, if there is a way of course. Thanks
Hey Glen and Jules; have you tried doing this in a camp setting using a cooler filed with Ice and Rock Salt? Curious how these no-cook ice creams would be adapted for that freezing method.
Trying this recipe out. Never made a "cheat" ice cream before. I stirred everything and it thickened up and froze it. I don't know if I should have whipped it into soft peaks or something. Here's hoping it turns out. :)
I’ve seen this exact recipe (different mix-Ins than lemon) but it is usually called NO MACHINE ice cream because after you whip everything together, stick it straight into freezer to harden.
Use a hand blender to lightly whip the cream - that way you both blitz the lemon peel and add air, making the finished product lighter. Add the lemon juice to the condensed milk, not to the cream. This prevents the cream from curdling as the condensed milk dilutes the acid. I add a shot of vodka too, which helps keep the ice cream soft and crystal free.
Would it be possible to make it without a ice cream maker? Moreover, what is the sugar content of condensed milk in Canada? Here in Europe they sell mostly unsweetened condensed milk.
We are wondering 1) if adding the lemon zest and lemon juice to the condensed milk and then adding the cream will reduce the curdling and 2) if chilling the lemon juice will reduce the curdling? We know you like to experiment. Great idea. Makes me think of lemon cheesecake.
Thanks for watching friends! Leave a comment about what other ice cream flavours you'd like us to try - as always this recipe is in the description box^^^. Please share if you liked it.
Try making pistachio ice cream. Cheers!

how about a sorbet? something like a fresh cantaloupe sorbet is the most refreshing thing in the summer time, not as heavy as ice cream.
re-upload? feels like i've seen this before.
also, no sweetener? or is the condensed milk sweet enough?
Dulce de leche
I made a blueberry topping for this ice cream. It compliments the lemon flavor
I bet raspberry topping would be good also .

Thank you. I was disappointed to find out I would need to buy that huge contraption to make the lemon ice cream.
Finally ice cream that I don't have to cook!
You can add crushed biscuits to it too. Some time ago I did one with plain cream, condensed milk, vanilla, with oreo chunks. Not bad actually
I have no ice. Cream making devices. I make this by whipping the cream, adding an egg yolk to the condensed milk, flavor and any additives, fold together, putvin a 9x13 baking tin and cover with foil, freeze overnight. Best creamy stuff ever.

Evaporated milk, at least in Australia, is basically condensed milk but worse tasting and not sweet.
@@Adam-eo5ff Evaporated milk is just slightly dried milk. Add water for regular milk. Its not a lifehack, the can itself says this. Used this quite a lot to save money. I have just enough to not have to skimp on food but I always buy the cheap brands and stuff like that

I was thinking of the perfect ice cream to make along with a blueberry pie, and this looks like the answer.
I am very happy to find this one, my grandparents used to make something called 1,2,3 Lemon Ice Cream in the summer, I believe this is that recipe and cannot wait to make it.
Omg I was looking For lemon ice cream I have fresh lemons from my garden and 100% I’m gonna make some thank you for the recipe !!!

Key lime Ice Cream!

It seems to me that adding a strawberry or raspberry purée to this could also be good. Something to try perhaps.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. This was a hit song in 1925! I am going to make this for sure, I absolutely love all things lemon.

It looks so creamy and delicious🍋🍋 Thanks Glen and Julie👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I have made this recipe many times. Really delicious. Thank you for sharing the recipe/method.

Could you, please, make pumpkin ice cream? Had some in Nova Scotia. Amazing!
Ooh! With walnuts!
Awesome, Thank you, I’m going to try that this weekend. Lemon anything is my favorite flavor!
I thank you for sharing this recipe. I am definitely adding lemons to my grocery list. Looks delicious. Have a Blessed day.
Did this with lime juice and the skin on a finer cheese grater and it is so good. Thank you! ❤️🤤🍋

That's some nice stuff. I might try to do this at a friend's house one day.
I’m dairy free but will try this with coconut cream and sweetened condensed coconut milk

Glen, your ice cream game has really evolved since this was filmed, but you haven't changed a bit! Thanks for all the great content 😎
guess i have a new favourite ice cream now, thanks Glen
I’ve been trying to figure out a dessert for tonight and was leaning towards brain ice cream but you’ve twisted my arm!
Funko Nevs brain?
Joseph Traylor watch their last video...
Can't wait to try with my brand new ice cream maker
Very nice. How about little bits of toasted marshmallow in it ! and a few chunks of graham crackers while we're at it. Lemon meringue tart !!
I will do a try with oranges
It is so tasty sound glen

Put it in a bowl, put the bowl in the freezer and stir it every 10 minutes. Stir 5-6 times, and you've got ice cream, that's better than store bought.
Thanks for this one Glenn, looks pretty tasty and delicious. Btw, any chance you show us how to make gelato at home, if there is a way of course. Thanks

Yay Toronto! Saying hi from orangeville!
Artesanal way is the best way, tnx

What should I do if I dont have an ice cream churner at all? Is it possible to just freeze it, or do I need to do something to it as well?
I love you guys!!!
Hello Glen. Can I just pour the ice cream straight into chilled container and throw it into freezer? Thanks for reply.
Give it a stir after you put it in the freezer; every 10-15 minutes for the first hour - hour and a half.
Have you ever made peach ice cream? I would love to see you make a peach flavored one!
Does this work with oranges?
I’ve seen this exact recipe (different mix-Ins than lemon) but it is usually called NO MACHINE ice cream because after you whip everything together, stick it straight into freezer to harden.

Thanks - but nope. For this to work the way I intend, you want the lemon to curdle the cream. As for vodka... I'd rather use limoncello.
Hi can you substitute all purpose cream for heavy cream?

Except the curdling is key to making this recipe work. You want it to curdle.
Try microwaving the lemons on high max for 29 second to get more juice.
