  • Inverted forks, dual front breaks, analog tach, AND the air-cooled 1200 cc Evolution motor can only mean one thing... the Harley-Davidson ROADSTER. Definitely one of the most fun Sportsters around. Check out this 2020 preowned Roadster complete with an exposed air intake and Vance & Hines short shots!

Great ride brother. Rode a Sport for 12 years. Kinda brings back memories.

I own a roadster and I have to say it is without a doubt the best sportster. I have 6 inch pull back risers with moto bars, it really helps for extended saddle time as the stock bar position used to kill my lower back. I'd never notice much riding, but at the end of the day when off the bike I'd feel it big time in my back. Still the best Sporty platform, other sporties aren't even close to this good.

The correct name is XL1200CX, not XL1200.

Are Sportster A Good Beginners Bike?

MANY riders first got their start on a Harley-Davidson Sportster. They're plenty light and quick enough but at the end of the day it's what you feel comfortable on. Come see us to check out many great options for new riders!

Beginner Bikes can be many, my first Harley was a SG and I have had many since. However more important is what kind of riding will you do most of the time and find a bike that suits that style. I sold my SG 2 yrs ago as my sons sports take up most of my time however I am going to pick up an Iron 883 and build the motor with the 1275 kit to rip around the city and down along the coast I have no need for a big heavy touring bike in my life right now but still want something to rip to work on and around the city to do daily task.

It is cool but not even close to an XR.

Yep, lots of people prefer the XL-R over the XR. If someone likes the XR, you should get an XR.
