    Oh my gosh what a cool idea to close up the lining through the pocket!! I kept wondering why in the heck you were leaving the bottom of that pocket unsewn. Lol. Now I know! Awesome idea!! That is a beautiful bag!!😍

    Hi! I loved this tutorial, and your choice of fabrics are beautiful. I'm just curious if your machine is a walking foot machine or just an industrial straight stitch with a walking foot attachment?

    • @SiahSwag

      My machine came with the walking foot.

    Hi!! I am making this bag next! Kassiah, I am wondering... if you were to use Rex or Mora vinyl on the gussets of a DUFFY bag would you still omit the DVL/Fleece? Your vinyl looks thicker with a fuzzy back so it may act like a fleece? I too want to use vinyl for gussets and will be using WPC inside but dont want the gussets floppy if I omit fleece or DVL on them . I of course will be using your amazing thread. I just LOVE them. TIA

    • @SiahSwag
      @SiahSwag  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! I would do DVL but just keep it out of the seam allowance and you should be good!

    Kassiah, what do you think of waxed canvas for the exterior and waterproof canvas for the lining?

    • @SiahSwag
      @SiahSwag  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that would make a great bag, just make sure you have a machine that could handle those fabrics!

  • @angcooley
    @angcooley 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love this pattern thank you so much for the tutorial. I have a question on the zipper placket… you know how you stop 3/4” on each side… did I miss a step were you eventually extend that all the way? When I finished by bag there was still some area that showed with out the top stitch. Hopefully that question made sense! 😂

    • @SiahSwag
      @SiahSwag  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s been a while since I did this one…. I’m not sure but I would just follow what the pattern says to do 😊

  •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you advise me on a beginner handbag pattern that can be sewn using a domestic machine. You make everything look easy and I don't want to bite off more than I can chew especially with a little one running around. lol

    • @SiahSwag
      @SiahSwag  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would suggest just starting with little pouches and totes and see what your machine can handle, and also learn the basics 😊

    havent got any decovil can i use foam or would it be to bulky on the seams im in australia so have to find where to buy decovil

    • @SiahSwag
      @SiahSwag  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You could do fusible foam and do it out of your seam allowance

    Thank you for this. I am thinking of starting my own business from home as I have now retired.I have a question about intellectual property rights with regard to the fabric designs. Do you make your designs on fabric or do does someone else do it for you? Or do you buy fabric from a store? And if you do, are you expected to pay royalties/ commission to the designer/ artist who created the pattern?

    • @SiahSwag
      @SiahSwag  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It states in the patterns the terms for selling things you make with it

  • @debslovingstitches
    @debslovingstitches ปีที่แล้ว

    When you sew 3/8 then go to 1/2 on bag bottom, is it to make the lining sit without bagginess?
