    Silly question. Could you make your decovil pièce without the flap. Drop it in with the lining and sew it. Then glue in the flap piece?

    • @brandyjackson-beansbags
      @brandyjackson-beansbags  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm good question. The decovil is all one piece and goes in last to give the bag it’s perfect shape.. so not sure. If you try let me know how it went pls! You can always ask the designer Tobistylx too.

    Forgive me if i am confused but why not lay the stabilizer in place before you drop in the lining and then stitch?

    • @brandyjackson-beansbags
      @brandyjackson-beansbags  ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be a question for the designer of the pattern I guess. It is a heavy stabilized that sits very close and tight to the seams . This way very little sewing thru the heavy stabilizer . This bag is super structured.
      It is the only bag I have made with this type of construction! It was fun to learn this technique .
      Toby the designer is awesome! If you ask her the question please do share what she says??

    Rubber cement would be a better adhesive for this project. You apply it with the same spreader, let it dry to tacky and it will adhere without clips. You just use a seam roller to flatten.

      Careful tho with rubber cement. I have always found that it's STRINGY to work with. Could get quite messy.

      Glue isn’t my favorite to work with at all lol

      I use it all the time with leather but, always on a Teflon sheet.

    I am looking into buying vinyl, can you make this with 12x54 inch roll? I understand if you can't answer that question due to pattern measurements issues.

      I used an 18” roll. maybe get 2 to be safe? I cut my crossbody with it too, so may need the 2 rolls :) then you can make a matching wallet with the leftovers :)

    Hello, could we make this bag in another fabric like canvas, or tweed ?

    • @brandyjackson-beansbags
      @brandyjackson-beansbags  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here are the recommendations from the designer. “I recommend using solid-colored vinyl, faux leather, or light-wight genuine leather for this pattern. Note that the exterior material cannot be very thick or very thin.
      For the lining, you can use waterproof canvas, or light weight vinyl.”

    Do you think this could be sewed with a regular sewing machine? I have a singer stylist. I'm not sure what kind you have but it looked like it might be an industrial one...

    • @brandyjackson-beansbags
      @brandyjackson-beansbags  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely as the stabilizer goes in last and isnt sewn through at all! I do have an industrial but this is definitely domestic machine friendly
