- I had this idea in my head for months. I love HLVR AI and I decided to make a quick animation on it in one day.

The scene where Coomer was floating in the void with the skeleton was really fucking cool, makes me think how Benrey and his skeleton army were already aware of them being in a videogame and Coomer was just hit with that realization. Awesome stuff!

that would explain why the skele-bros, and benrey are trying to kill him every chance they get, because they were all aware of them being in a game from the very beginning, ever since he stopped gordon for his passport, he knew all along, and that would also explain coomer trying to kill him, because as soon as he figured out he was in a game, he needed to escape.
that could also explain the "a world in your dreams", dr coomer knew that he was in a video game, but he realized that gordon was the main character, and he was trying to escape to the real world
Benrey clearly knew from the start. He was the first one we've seen straight up teleporting and using items that weren't within the confines of HL1.
I love how genuinely horrified Coomer looks when he sees outside of the map

How the HELL do you get so much expression out of the OG Half-Life models?! Its incredible!
Honestly, I'm still questioning myself about that. But I just tried to keep natural movements, and I moved their mouths up and down not based on how they're talking, but the volume of their voices, so it resembles classic half life.

I love the small silence when Dr. Coomer was in the void looking down at the map
Shortly after this scene Gordon went to the All Dogs Go To Heaven universe and died.
I enjoy that the whole bit of Dr. Coomer is that he's essentially an NPC that broke out of its usual scripting and slowly becomes sentient, and in this moment realizes it's merely a digital character and thus grows fully aware

Not even silent hill scared me as much as this singular fucking moment did. I genuinely got goosebumps when I first watched the HLVRAI playlist cuz it came so out of left field. The implications of it all, literally the lore behind HLVRAI is so fucking cool, like what happens to Coomer, Bubby and the rest once the series ends, like for good. Does Benrey know? Did they have lives before? That's why I fucking go nuts over the fanfics exploring the concept of what ifs and what was before Gordon's character got loaded in. Literally could go on and on about it for hours
I like how benry is always talking about PlayStation plus because its funny but think of the implications, hes an NPC, inside a game, taking the role of the outside player, who downloads and plays games.
The other AI are self aware at most, with knowledge that they're in a game, but benry? He's a higher being.

When I first watch this, when Dr. Cooper said there was nothing there I genuinely had chills go down my spine because the change of tone was so sudden
Not to mention that the Fallen Child theme from Undertale was playing

this is amazing, Coomer looking down on the hl map portays what Holly put into that phrase perfectly, the genuine terror of the source/gldsrc out-of-bounds, incredibly well done mate

The background, you didn't had to do the effort of the scenes in the background but you did.
Also the sliding Benrey at the end is the best one.
This is why I find going outside the map in video games scary, it's all just one massive void.

I imported half life source assets into sfm. There are guides for that. You need to recompile the maps in sfm's hammer. The maps will most likely have missing textures in hammer, but it will look fine in sfm when opened
