After Disney's acquisition of Fox properties, Hotstar is now under Disney and all the upcoming Disney+ shows including upcoming Marvel Studios "Phase 4" Shows will stream directly on Hotstar in India on Day 1 of its release with regular plan/price. Hotstar is also planning to provide Dubbing & subtitles for those shows in multiple regional languages.
Also, Disney now controls 100% of Hulu. So, in future it's almost definite that Hotstar will have HULU's programming. So, hopefully, in future we might get HBO, Disney+, HULU altogether on Hotstar.

For those who are NOT so interested in foreign shows - Hotstar also has VIP subscription which is ₹365/year - which provides all Indian content. Only foreign content isn't available. Among all I feel Hotstar is the best - as their original Indian content is also good for which they charge nominal amount (₹365/year), movies, sports & news is also available within that, along with TV Shows for those who like. JioTv & cinema is also very good with vast amount of content it provides for free. Zee5 has some good movies & webshows - so once in while (may be 1 or 2 months in a year) we can take it's subscription & watch them. As far as Alt Balaji is concerned - not all are good but few webseries like Bose - Dead/Alive, Baarish, MOM etc are good - which are available on either JioCinema/Zee5. Sony & Voot is available for free. Most of the Eros content is available on JioCinema. Amazon Prime is good since it has good movies as well provides benefits on Amazon shopping & music. But Netflix I feel is a waste of money(especially with the kind of Indian content they are bringing). So with ₹365(Hotstar) + ₹150(Two months of Zee5 as lot of 30%-50% off keeps happening) = ₹500-₹600/year - one can get a good dose of entertainment. With that if we add Amazon(₹999) - with ₹1500-₹2000 we can watch lot of good content - instead of wasting on Netflix for those who aren't much interested in foreign content. Beyond that we can still take 1 or 2 month subscription of Netflix and watch the best shows.

But Netflix I feel is a waste of money(especially with the kind of Indian content they are bringing). So with ₹365(Hotstar) + ₹150(Two months of Zee5 as lot of 30%-50% off keeps happening) = ₹500-₹600/year - one can get a good dose of entertainment. With that if we add Amazon(₹999) - with ₹1500-₹2000 we can watch lot of good content - instead of wasting on Netflix for those who aren't much interested in foreign content. Beyond that we can still take 1 or 2 month subscription of Netflix and watch the best shows.
