@Quan Youngblood I disagree, I think Infinity War handled the massive scale of the universe perfectly while finally giving a well rounded MCU villain whose name wasn't Loki. Until that point Winter Soldier was my favourite.

I saw them all in theaters except for Incredible Hulk. I think the draw for me for Iron Man 1 is that it was a fresh take (or even a mockery) of the superhero genre, which I felt was tired and worn out at the time. It also helped that I knew who RDJ was (Weird Science, 1985) and I thought "cool, RDJ in a Superhero movie". I think 2011 was the year though that really hooked me into the MCU...before that, it was just the Iron Man movies. Thor and Captain America were very solid entries that really sold the MCU for me. Infact, after rewatching the whole "saga" again, Thor 1 is my #4 MCU film and Cap 1 is my #5.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the by far the best MCU solo movie.

Age Of Ultron was good, even great, but the Winter Soldier is still the highest caliber of film Marvel has ever put on screen.

Lilith Hutchinson Ultron makes no advance to the story, except the additional avengers. Cap 2 takes off where the first Avengers left off and changes the whole story. Shield is destroyed, Hydra is discovered, Anthony Mackie is introduced, Bucky is found to be alive and Fury is thought to be dead. These changes affect AoS, Avengers 2, and will eventually affect Civil War (seeing as Bucky is to be in it). Age of Ultron didn't really advance the plot as much. The story started out as the Avengers looking for the sceptre but at the end fighting an army of robots on a flying island. Cap 2 reveals the Hydra infiltration and shows strength and courage to stand up against you're enemies even if it means death. Ultron shows to not create robots from a space gem. Although Ultron was a good movie, it is incomparable to Cap 2.

@AIRclan - Age of Ultron sets up a lot of the stories of the future Marvel films including Cap 3 and possibly Planet Hulk, if that happens. It definitely changed the outlook of every Avenger.

The movie that made people realize that Captain America is actually awesome. I honestly can't pick between Winter Soldier and Civil War, since both are amazing movies. The First Avenger is highly underrated in my opinion, and the Cap trilogy is my favorite superhero movie trilogy. :)

Today makes 10 years since this movie released in theaters, and it still holds up now just as much as it did then as one of my favorite MCU movies in existence.
BEST MARVEL FILM EVER. I love how they highlighted the Cap as the Super Soldier he was made to be. I love the kind of relationship that Widow and Cap developed (teamwork) I love how they made his favorite human being into his arch enemy. And I love how they are low key dissing the government about modern day issues.

This remains the best trailer and mcu movie i have ever seen
Now that i've watched both, i personally think Winter Soldier is better than Civil War. TWS for what it is and what it's suppost to be, is a great stand alone game changing deep marvel movie, while Civil War to me felt it was missing the aspect of the CW and the impact and consequences of it. it's like the entire Civil War took place in a day, i.e. the airport battle and siberia fight...

I like a lot about The Winter Soldier but The First Avenger is my personal favorite, just because it sets up the character of Cap, his friends and allies, Red Skull, and Hydra, and the world of the 40s so well. Plus I'm a big fan of the pulp adventure story genre which The First Avenger fits into so well. But The Winter Soldier kind of throws The First Avenger under the bus a little bit in that it solves Cap's problem of adjusting to the modern world by saying "hey, guess what? Hydra's back so you and your friends basically fought and or died for nothing". I know that helps reinvigorate Cap into knowing what he's fighting for (freedom) and helps set him up for Civil War, (becoming more anti-government) but it just feels like a big disservice to the characters, especially Peggy Carter, who helped start SHIELD, mind you. Maybe I'm just overthinking things. I don't know.

Sabrina Faire Agreed. Caps trilogy is easily the best in the MCU, with all three films ranking in my MCU top five. Civil War comes closer with every rewatch, but I appreciate this film more for being the freshest in the MCU until say Guardians of the Galaxy. It felt as much a spy film as it did a comic book film, the main reasons why I still rank this as the best MCU film to date.
This was the peak of the MCU. I just watched horrendous The Marvels trailer and now I am sad and disappointed due to what we have lost.

The way that so many years later, i still get goosebumps when the Winter Soldier gives Cap that look and throws the shield right back.... this movie is a masterpiece, complete, comprehensive.

Sebastian Stan has a nine picture deal with Marvel, he finished the Cap trilogy, is going to be in the Black Panther movie, will probbably have a cameo in both Infinity War movies. That's 6, meaning he might get his own trilogy.
Is he going to be in black panther? If he is, I think it would be a small role, if not a cameo. I thought they would do an origin film for black panther...
Jennifer Ramos Actually I think the Black Panther movie will be a sort of sequel to civil war, where Bucky is T'Challas partner, similar to Cap/Falcon. The same thing will happen in Spider-Man: Homecoming where Iron Man will have major role.
+The WolfGuzzler Don't get me wrong, I'd love more bucky, winter soldier in anything, but I just don't see him as tchalla's partner right now. MAYBE at the end of the movie, tchalla has no other option, so he needs TWS to help him defeat the enemy. But there would still be the whole "I can't control my own mind - so better freezer me" issue. Would that get solved in the movie? If not, is he just gonna get frozen again? I don't know how easy the MCU is going to make freezing and defrosting a character, lol. Could TWS walk out and be ready in 5 minutes? I just don't know how it would work. But I did like the last line of the end credit scene in wakanda, so if one of the things black panther had to do is keep TWS safe, I'd wanna c how they work that out. Maybe there's even a faction of wakandans who hate the idea of black panther "harboring a fugitive" and there's someone who wants to usurp the crown and their using tchalla helping bucky against him... Who knows?

I love how Marvel's movies are all pieced together like one giant puzzle. You get to know each superhero, super villain, their back stories and it all leads up to future movies. Whoever were the people that thought of that are brilliant. DC really should have done something like this to form a Justice League, but why they never did, I'll never know. Because if they're going to jump straight to a Justice League, it just isn't going to work.

I wholeheartedly agreed with you up until your last sentence. Marvel took years to formulate their plan and put it into action. DC...was just kinda caught playing catch-up. While it seems more than a little ass-retarded to have that many minds NOT figuring out how copy & paste Marvel's formula, it also makes sense to strive to do things your own way (Vegeta, if you will). So I vote to give it a chance and see how it goes :-)
DC came up with this idea of a shared universe movie series. They had to canclle it because at the time Nolan refuse to have his Dark Knight Trilogy in a Super powered world and the producers of that Superman returns movie had cancelled a sequel for that movie. Marvel insted took the idea.
javonte morant hmmm, I think Nolan made the right call, pretty sure the Batman Trilogy wouldn't have been as successful in a Super-heroes world as it was in a more real one. At least not at that time. Now, people seem more used to it though...
They didn't do the DC cinematic universe this way because the guys at WB and DC are lazy asses who don't want to spend extra money for solo movies or wait 5 years to do the justice league, so they thought they could just freaking cram in batman and wonder woman in a superman sequel just to speed up the process and compete with Age of Ultron. ANd whatdya know they had to delay the release 10 months, it's a shame that they can't take thier time like MArvel has because I love what they have done with this franchise so far.

2014 was the last great year we truly had for movies. Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Lego Movie, and John Wick. I can’t remember a year since that had such heavy hitters all in one single year.

People talk about the plot twist in Iron Man 3 as the best one but that was actually garbage. The BEST plot twist came in this film because it actually had a huge ripple effect and didn't take the p*ss with fans.
