    Good on them for getting the old flag. It's a nice flag. The L3/35 was okay in some situations, but armor and armament betrayed it heavily. However, there was a powerful flamethrower modification...

    Il cv33 per quanto possa essere stato utilizzato nel modo sbagliato, penso sia un mezzo blindato abbastanza decente, non quanto le cingolette inglesi ma almeno all’altezza di svolgere compiti elementari. Perciò credo che se avesse avuto il suo giusto utilizzo “forse” avrebbe fatto più bella figura anziché combattere carri armati 10 volte più pesanti

    I nostri carri armati erano come automobili con cingoli e ( occasionalmente ) una torretta. Erano alla pari con il Panzer I, Panzer II, Renault ft 17 e tutti i carri leggeri. Peró se la potevano anche cavare con il Panzer III ed i Cruiser.

      guarda che sono stati costruiti per le montagne, non il deserto contro carri inglesi, poi ne erano consapevoli alla FIAT che non fossero buoni nel 42, per questo stavano lavorando su altri progetti come il p26/40, semovente 105 "bassotto", semovente 90/53. Nonostante mancassero le materie prime in Italia.

    • @vecchiogufo4863
      @vecchiogufo4863 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stormerz8605 Quella della montagna era una scusa inventata in tempi sucessivi, semplicemente non c'era la mentalità da " corazzati ", ancora nel '39 la dottrina ufficiale era che l' M11 era sufficiente perché, tanto, l' accoppiata CV33 + Cannone 47/32 mm era in grado di fermare qualsiasi carro, quindi era meglio avere carri veloci, che poi non erano neppure quello. Ed anche l' M15/42 non era all' altezza del PzKpW III, non pigliamoci in giro. Anche gli inglesi avevano carri inaffidabili e scadenti, ma loro ebbero l' aiuto americano e nel frattempo impararono, alla fine fecero il Centurion, non so se mi spiego. E lasciamo perdere il P26/40, sarebbe stato più o meno all' altezza giusto nel 1940, se avessero corretto gli innumerevoli dietti, quanto al resto, a parte il semovente da 75/18 che era un mezzo dignitoso, anche le idee migliori furono realizzate, quando realizzate, malissimo, era già un successo se si muovevano, altro che fermare gli IS2.

      Non è vero . L3 che vedete era un ottimo carro esplorante il suo ruolo possiamo paragonarlo alle jepp americane . L’altro competeva benissimo con i carri della sua epoca inglesi tedeschi e russi tranne il matilda. Il problema è stata la scarsa produzione, idee confuse sull’utilizzo dei corazzati , e la loro evoluzione pressoché nulla dopo il 1943.

      Anche i Tedeschi cominciarono nel 1939 con carri di 12 t. E la finirono con il Koenigstiger. Il piu pesante di tutta la guerra. E nato per caso. Fu concepito sul fronte russo, assemblando materiali di recupero. E ci montarono sopra un obice da 88 mm. Funziono talmente bene che fu prodotto in serie. La necessita aguzza l ingegno.

      @@derptank3308 tanks as bad as the italian tanks?
      the pretty much all british designs:
      the light tank mk IV, the scout carrier (which was used in the same way as the L3/35, but had less armour and was slower), the curiser mk I to IV (which while faster had worse armour and were less reliable than italian tanks), and thats before we mention all british tank before the introduction of the QF 75mm had either no HE (like 2pdr and 6pdr armed vehicles) or no AP (like the CS varients, which also had very few HE shells, mostly carrying smoke shells) meaning their tanks were incredably situational and somewhat vulnerable to one form of attack or another. and even after this most british tanks were either just as under armoured as contemporary italian designs or incredably slow and still not heavily armoured enough to stop italian anti-tank weapons let alone german ones (the germans made extensive use of italian semoventes in 44 and 45, and they recked churchill tanks). oh yeah and they almost all use rivets and bolts just like the italians, atleast the italians learnt how to slope armour. also inferiour ammunition protection.
      american designs:
      the m3 stuart is more or less as bad as italian tanks, it was a little faster but otherwise has all the flaws. the m3 lee was a joke, the fact italian tank units in m13s easily defeated them should tell you everything you need to know, but simply put it was big, heavy, had poor gun placement and the commander was over worked, and had too thin armour. it gets the excuse as a stop gap though. inferior ammunition protection compaired to italians, untill wett storage. america also had a bunch of bad designs mass produced they chose not to deploy after seeing similar designs fail (ie they had the benefitt from learning from other's mistakes)
      soviet designs:
      their entire pre-war arsenal, minus the t-34 and kv-1.
      even these has serious mechanical issues initially, aswell as poor layout, bad optics, crapt, ect. they also often had poor quality control until 1943. prior to this they could shatter their welds from non-penitrating hits.
      the entire t-60/t-70 line of tanks is shit.
      inferior assault guns (for a given year), especially the SU-76 which not only came after the italian designs of similar armament, but had less armour, worse power-to-weight ratios and were open topped AND had no barriers between the engines and driver, causeing him to go deaf.
      the allies had plenty of designs on par with or worse than italian designs, infact had ital not been removed from the war they would have introduced a tank better than any allied tank of the war (p43bis, which would have entered production at the same time as the cromwell and t-34/85 and was considered by thegermans to be onpar with the panther)

      @@joep6706 Sorry for necro-posting. Italy engaged in tank battles... and also won some of them (like the two battles of Bir El Gobi). Still, the italian tank crews were able to win when the forces were 1 to 1, not 4, or more, to 1. The biggest tank battle in which Italy fought was El Alamein.

    • @matthiuskoenig3378
      @matthiuskoenig3378 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      also sorry for necro-posting, but the M15/42 (turreted tank in picture) never faught shermans, only panzer IIIs (in the 1943 battle of rome, and nother battle i forgot the name of, some port) where they were fairly successful. and against T-34s (captured german ones) where the unit servived fairly well (although i believe this was due to a withdrawal).
      as for actually fighting shermans, most sources say the EPS (available in 1943+, so in tunisia) was capable of penetrating the sherman frontally, so its more like fighting tigers with a 76mm sherman (as long as you have the EPS). before that it would be like fighting tigers. edit: which is interesting as during the retreat after el Alamein, a single company of M14/41 routed a Sherman battalion during a counter-attack and were only stopped by 25pdrs firing over open sights.
      although we don't know its penetration, since EPS is a 47mm HEAT shell designed by the germans (on behalf of the Italians, whose first attempt, EP shells, was a fairly) who had a 30mm HEAT (rifle grenade) round capable of penning 89mm of armour (according to US testing), i imagine it was atleast that effective (they can have the same warhead, just with wall reinforcement at the least for higher pressure, but could potentially have a larger warhead)

    Mi fa ridere pensare che quello che per noi era un carro medio per gli standard degli altri paesi belligernati erano carri leggeri. Non voglio nemmeno pensare al CV 33, quello non era un carro, era una jeep blindata su cingoli. Ma non posso certo biasimarli, la nostra penisola non poteva vantare enormi quantità di materie prime. Quelle poche che possedevamo erano, giustamente, priorità per la Regia Marina e Aeronautica.

      Poi, perché sarebbe stato giusto preferire la Marina, che aveva moltissime unita quasi inutili, come la metà dei sommergibili e le Torpediniere, buone solo a fungere da bersaglio per i caccia inglesi ? @@daveindanesiaandmore5179 L' esercito ricevette circa 300 75/18 che furono usati ed apprezzati, anche se avevano necessità di essere appoggiati da carri convenzionali altrimenti venivano inesorabilmente circondati vista la velocità inferiore rispetto ai carri inglesi, una dozzina di 90/53 che non furono praticamente mai usati, ed una settantina, secondo i documenti, di semoventi da 105, usati saltuariamente nel 1943, poi catturati dai tedeschi ed usati in Jugoslavia dove se ne sono rapidamente perse le tracce, e ci credo, visto che i conducenti stessi erano disperati per i continui guasti dovuti al peso troppo elevato per il motore e le sospensioni. Quanto agli L3 già all' inizio della guerra furono spazzati via dai poderosi Vickers Mk6, 5 tonnellate di peso, armati con una mitragliatrice da 12,7 mm, alcuni con una 15 mm . Eravamo oscenamente indietro, e non dobbiamo consolarci con l' eroismo dei soldati, ci sono morti dentro queste carriole, tutti hanno avuto mezzi difettosi od inadeguati, ma un conto é fare del proprio meglio, un altro é fornire materiali inadeguati perché il capo di turno non capisce un accidente e pensa alle parate invece che alla guerra vera.

      @@daveindanesiaandmore5179 Il P40 venne realizzato in meno di 100 esemplari arretrati e difettosi, quasi metà non ebbero neanche i motori e vennero usati come postazioni fisse, il P43 rimase solo una serie di disegni di massima.

      Succede che, una volta ripresosi dal gran ridere, l'equipaggio dello sherman deve decidere se sprecare un colpo di cannone o montarci sopra e schiacciarlo
