Yes, I'm working on it now. I was wondering if you NEED the MIDI to USB vs just using a USB ? I think it will work the same way with only USB using the spd-sX..
dwayne marshall To assign a tempo to a scene, select the scene and rename it with a viable tempo (e.g., “96 BPM“). Any tempo can be used, as long as it is within the range allowed by Live’s Tempo control (20-999 BPM). To assign a time signature to a scene, rename the scene with a meter in the form of “x/y“ (e.g., “4/4“). Any time signature can be used, provided it has a numerator between 1 and 99 and a denominator with a beat value of 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16. Tempo and time signature changes can coexist within a single scene name, and can appear in any position as long as they are separated from each other by at least one character. For example, “2/4+108 BPM“, “72 BPM;7/8“ and “60 BPM Chorus 3/4“ are all scene names that will cause simultaneous meter and tempo changes.
Hi! it's possible to launch the internal click (or a recorded click) on my SPD synced with Ableton? Even though the tempo value is synchronized through the midi port (it gets the Ableton value), it is not launched synchronously. thanks!
Hey I'm confused. If your running a Midi Into The Roland SPD-SX How is it your Samples are Audio. I don't understand. Because Most Of My Sample Are Audio Files So Is that like turning Audio Into Midi for Playback? Help me out with this one.
Midi is a protocol for sending commands. Basically "play note", "stop note" etc. He is using the Roland SPD-S as a midi controller and mapping these midi signals sent from the Roland to the computer to do other stuff than to play an instrument. Does that make sense to you? :)
Hey I just released an update on an Max for Live device which lets you select your SPD-SX kits via Ableton Live - with kit names input! Tutorial on how to use this free device: th-cam.com/video/iYvv8ciGljQ/w-d-xo.html

Love the idea of soloing the click! Never would have thought of that. Thanks for the share!
Thanks for this video! We're setting up a SPD-30 this week to do the same thing and this is just what we were looking for.
Hey thanks for the info man this was great help, but i need to find out one other thing do i need to convert all the track i hav to midi
Thanks for this tutorial, super helpful! What's the use for the PLAY button then in this setup? Is it not redundant with the "LAUNCH" button.
Trent Barnett same question!
Philip What is the setting in Ableton in the Midi Sync section to allow use of the SPD-S?
Hi Philip
Just wondering, do you still using this setup or something another?
Show it please))
Hey, how can you send the click through to only your headphones/in ears ? I'm looking at doing solo performance.
Set your click track Ext. Out to 1, and everything else on 2. Then set your cue out to 1, and your master out to 2. Good luck!
I'm assuming it can be done the same way regarding the spd-SX?
hey Philip how did u get the click set at the tempos
for all the songs?

Thanks for the explanation Philip! Exactly what I was looking for :-)

I'll try again later on and let you know.
