My husband and I did an open door helicopter tour around Oahu. It was one of the best experiences of my life! Can’t wait to do it in Kauai ❤ the ONLY downfall of open door… due to the wind, my hair actually snapped off where I had bobby pins in my hair!
Thanks for this! I have reservations for Doors Off in about a month. I've done quite a few helicopter tours of Kaua'i before. But have been wanting to do the Doors Off. It's finally happening. I loved your video.
@@OnTodaysAdventureHi, great video! Stunning views! Would you please share exactly which tour you guys took? Planning to get this ride but when I visited the website Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours I don’t see any tour that is $700 for 2 persons. I was wondering which one was this one. TIA!
Kauai is our favorite place on Earth! You will have to go back to see *Napali* from the air and by foot now that you've seen it by sea! Hiking to Kalalau should be on your bucket list!
Weather on Kauai changes quite frequently. I would recommend calling the companies and ask them the forecast for your dates. Mornings and late afternoons typically will have better lighting vs during the middle of the day. Enjoy!!
What was your seat belt like? Was it like an airplane’s lap belt or did you also have a shoulder harness option? Curious as I’m considering bringing my 8-year-old on this flight with me next year - would you feel comfortable bringing a young child?
I just got back from Kauai two days ago. The seat belt is just like a car seat belt, run across the shoulder. The helicopter looks like a flying golf cart to me, kind of basic and not the safe. It's kind of scary and I don't feel secure but the view is spectacular. I am already 65 and I had a great life, so I thought to myself, why not. My grand daughter is 8 years old and I definitely would not bring her. I hear of helicopter crash all the time, she has a whole life ahead of her, it's not worth it for the 8 years old to take that risk. I am a photographer, so, I got really nice pictures but why does a kid need this type of risk. But of course it's up to you.
At the time, we had a Canon M50 and a GoPro Max (360 degree camera) but Eli got some amazing shots from her iPhone as well! Normal GoPro probably wont get great results
@@OnTodaysAdventure Thanks for the reply. Could you also tell me the name of the soundtrack because it fit so perfectly? I'm doing this tour next month and was going to use the GoPro Hero11 but sounds like I might be better off sticking to the iPhone.
@@AntiNormie812 We use Epidemic Sound for our videos, there is a link in the description of the video you should take a look! And if you have a newer iPhone it will do better for the far away shots, the GoPro11 will give you really cool shots inside the helicopter but if you can, try both!
Great video, thanks for sharing!. Im going to Kauai in june, wich company do you recomend for the private doors off helicopter flight? Do you have to book in advance or is it better depending on the weather conditions of the particular day?
I would recommend early morning or late afternoon as best flights for photography. Napali coast faces north/northwest so you will get the best light on it mid to later in the day. No bad time for a helicopter tour!
Lots of people choose against a "doors off" tour due to fear of heights and thus are too scared! Everyone has their own comfort level but in the video, we explain exactly what to expect from this tour :)
I took a helicopter ride last week with the same company. Yes, it is scary and I definitely would not take it again. But the view is absolutely spectacular. It's cold with heavy wind, my hair keeps on poking into my eyes and I had fun. I figure I am already 65, why not.

That looked incredible! I would totally ride in a helicopter around Kauai! The landscape is out of this world!
It was a once in a lifetime experience!
Great video. We will be in Kauai in Sept. and we are booking a helicopter tour as well. Thank you.
You are going to love it!

You are welcome! Doors off is a COMPLETELY different experience, youre going to love it in a month! and thank you for the kind words :)

Kauai is incredible!!!!! I did the Napoli boat cruise and loved it. Now I wish I did the helicopter ride lol

Great video. Would you recommend doors off or door on or it doesnt matter?
P.S. Not afraid of heights
Doors off all the way!
Great video!!!
Thank you!
Great video! What did you use to record in the helicopter?
We used a combination of our camera and our iPhones!
I'm going this month 🤗 what time do you think would be best to have clearer views and images? Thank you

This looks so neat. If I go, I want a small helicopter like this. Which company and helicopter did you book with? Thanks!
Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours is who we used! Have so much fun!!

wondering 🧡🧡😍😍
What kind of camera did you use to film this? Came out great! Would you recommend using a gopro or iPhone to record this?

Thank you Rodrigo! We loved the company we used and would recommend them, Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours!
@@OnTodaysAdventure I used the same one, pretty good.
Hey! What is the best time of the day to go for a helicopter tour?
we loved the afternoon because the light gets softer instead of morning which gets more intense!
You can do it on line now these days a lot safer
True!
What is the best time in a day to do helicopter ride. Plz suggest

What company did you take the Helicopter tour with?
Mauna Loa Helicopters
Jurassic Park 🎉🎉🎉🤩🤩🥹
Yes!!
Were you scared to drop your phone??
We had very secure devices to hold our phones and they were also strapped to our wrists so no worries at all! :)
Is flying on a helicopter scary? What’s there to expect?
