Cows marching down the mountain, obstructing traffic (Austria - Almabtrieb)

In our last trip in Austria, we got to witness an annual event in Austria (in the alpine regions) called Almabtrieb. It's an event that takes place in the autumn in which the farmers bring the cows down from the mountain to their stables in the valley.
Tens of thousands of cows do this every year. Decorating the cows is part of the event. The big clanging cowbells are meant to ward off the evil demons on their way down.

Funny, I'd gotten accosted by hundreds of em, all giving me the hairy eyeball during the annual "Running/walking Of The Cows" fall festival in Berchtesgaden Bavaria in 2017...
Unfortunately I was the 1st car at the head of the loooooooooong pack, thinking I'd "save some time" by gassing up in Lake Konigsee, to catch our flight outtve Munich later in the day...
-The trip usually takes 10 minutes or less, this particular one took about an HOUR & a HALF!!!....HA!
ALOT of costumed, traditional Bavarian dress cow wranglers givin me the: "Your Not From Around Here Are Ya Boy" looks as they & the cows languidly strolled past us @ a walking clip....
-Me rollin along doin a HEFTY 1 MPH in a soup'd up Mercedes!...;)
