Happy New Year to you also! The Switch 2 look evolutionary rather than revolutionary, but looks like it will be fun. Glad to see that backwards compatibility has been implemented. Glad you are feeling better!
I think everyone can feel that this reveal was put out earlier than planned in an attempt to shut up all the leakers. The "leaks" have been all over the place the last few years and they do truly set unrealistic expectations that will leave those who believed them disappointed in the actual product.
I'm getting one solely for the Nintendo games. But the Steamdeck has taken the switch over as my Indie machine on the go, going to be interesting to see how it stacks up against all the PC handhelds now.
That’s gonna be hard. Handheld PC was is and will always be powerful then handheld console hybrids or something. But yes. Even as a ASUS user. I’am getting a Switch 2.
I know the Switch was never really the most portable console, but I can't help but feel disappointed they're making it larger. The Steam Deck and Portal are pretty cool, but if anything it just tells me we're probably never going to get another PSP/Vita/DS that actually fits in your pocket and can be reasonably carried around. The PSP Go is my favorite handheld for this reason.
The other thing that I question is does the switch 2 run the switch run games natively or is it an emulator? Let's say based on yuzu? One thing that I'm hoping happens is steam release a home console. That will be fantastic because at this moment I am suspecting that the next generation of PlayStation consoles are going to be around the 900 UK pounds. Mark because of the price of the pro, I have a funny feeling that the next Xbox will be a console PC hybrid. If all else fails i will probably think about pc for next gen.
The best thing I like about it is the fact that it'll be backwards compatible physically. Meaning that you won't have to buy the same game again because why tf would I want to do that. This will get me back into the switch because I like the Mario games.
And you know how nintendo loves reselling stuff back to people at full price... I bet theres a catch, like paid patches for old games to run/look better on the switch 2
Definitely happy about the backwards compatibility, I'm hoping it'll be similar to how it was handled with PS4 games on PS5 - Have settings to do blanket optimizations for games, but developers can have the option to issue Switch 2 specific patches for Switch games.
@@aaronferguson3169not to mean you're broke or anything, i just have the feeling this thing's gonna be like 549usd or something. Its certainly gonna be insanely expensive in the third world
I'm gonna have to wait for the direct to make my final decision on if I want to get a switch 2 Unless there's a game I really want, I'm probably going to wait for a special edition model I want. Even buying one for moding might not be necessary given the switch Really only had one software exploit and it didn't go anywhere and everything else has been hardware related.
My crystal ball is saying within a year you will be able to emulate switch 2 games on more powerful pc handhelds, im in a funny position at the moment I cannot really afford to buy a handheld pc and a switch 2. Wanna get both but funds will not allow it so in my mind a switch 2 is gonna be great a handheld, pc has a ton of extra options when it comes to functionality just because its a PC, battery life is the big downside to the pc side of the handhelds. i really wish when they designed these handheld devices That the batteries are removable and replaceable, this would be great because folk would buy spare batteries especially if you could charge them externally.
This reveal really felt like they just wanted to tell all the leakers "SHUT UP!!!", so they gave this tease earlier than they were originally planning without the details.
Not worth a mortgage payment for a small graphical update. Ill buy used in a year. Im hoping someone releases a software mod for the oleds and v2s so i can just jailbreak mine without soldering it.
Once Switch 2 launches, i can already see videos popping up about how the old Nintendo was so fresh and innovative and how the new Nintendo is all corporate and soulless forgetting that when WiiU happened literally everybody blamed Nintendo for being innovative and not more like Sony and Microsoft. Now we finally have a numbered console and fans are still complaining.
Every model of switch 2 will definitely hack with modchip and nintendo can't do much about it unless they find and use some solution like microsoft done on xbox one and it stopped hard modding for a very long time till a solution discovered recently and trust me nintendo can't stop hardmod on switch 2 and as I've said mochips will available on every model of switch 2
you know how incredibly dumb that sounds. that's like saying the PS2 was a PS1 pro the PS3 was a PS2 pro etc.... It's the next switch, switch 2, not switch pro. if anything the Oled model is the pro version of the switch 1.
Impossible. Might not sell as well as the switch 1, but flop? Absolutely impossible at this point in time we're in with technology. Good luck getting one during the first year.
Happy New Year to you also! The Switch 2 look evolutionary rather than revolutionary, but looks like it will be fun. Glad to see that backwards compatibility has been implemented. Glad you are feeling better!
Thanks for checking in, dude! We'll have to see more in April, but I'm looking forward to it.
switch 1 wasnt that fun, i dont see how 2 will be also.
I should probably just pick up a launch 1.0 model and keep it in a closet for 5 years while all of the modding catches up
That is, if supplies last
In cryo stasis not to be opened until 2045
That's how to do it! If possible, get two. One to play and one to keep on a low firmware.
@@StarmenRock a 1.1 model will probably be good enough too.
Seeing this comment just reminded me I have a launch model switch in the back of my basement closet..seal in box 🤦🏽

For sure
my heart dropped seeing you post a video with the switch 2 in the thumbnail thinking its already been hacked even before release
I was wondering when someone would notice 🤣 accidentally left it in as a layer 🥲

I plan to get it, but Switch modding definitely went places unless you mean physical customizations. I regularly use and enjoy CFW!
@MrMario2011 I'm referring to how you would run an exploit
Installing a mod chip vs going to a website to run the exploit.
Okay but can we actually get Metroid Prime 4??????????????????
No!!!
I just want next gen to be a Switch 3DS
Buy two of them and tape them together while playing with 3D glasses.

I agree with you. In the end, negativity gets the most views and clicks, ragebait spreads, and pessimistic people will usually remain that way.

Shame that Nintendo didn’t go innovative this time around.
switch 2 never going to beat the original switch. it will always feel like an extension to it
We'll see what happens! I think anyone who would have said this about the PS2 would be laughed at now.
Like PS2 never beat PS1 because it was an extension, right?....🤦♂️ jeez you man children are imposible
I am going to be honest with you, I only wish that the Switch 2 has a hardware exploit, just like the original v1 Switch
Nintendo have "lost" more from emulation than from modding I think.
Absolutely. Most people do not want to mod their consoles themselves, let alone send them to a stranger to mod.
safe = boring
I'd argue that weird consoles stop being interesting once the allure wears off, safe you know what to expect!

I'm not sure how anyone can look at the Switch 2 and think it will end up like the Wii U.
Doubt it, reason they played it safe is the popularity of handheld gaming rn, this was the only logical step tbh even tho it's boring as all hell 😅
