Yes I agree with you : maybe because arpeggios existed already 400 years ago? Which shows that a very old skill can contribute towards a masterpiece of rock n'roll ! :-))
Its like classical meets Rock'n Roll. Its also nice to hear it being played on an acoustic piano rather than a keyboard. Child's Anthem is a great song. Manuela Run is another great one too and that one is chord based.. No piano cover or tutorial exists yet. David Paich also uses his left hand for bass which gives it a meatier sound.
Manuella run? mmm… maybe I should try ! Need a little time to think about it. As there is a lot of guitar, it needs a bigger arrangement than Child's anthem, where piano is self sufficient… But why not ? Thank you for your interesting comment and this good idea :-)
In Child's Anthem the piano plays the biggest part due to it being arpeggio based. All of the Manuela Run multi tracks like the drums, bass,guitar, piano etc does exist so you could mix them,mute the piano track and play your piano over it.
Dear Michael, I'd love to follow your advice but it's impossible to do that on TH-cam for a song less than 70 years old. As a TH-cam Channel I must respect the copyrights by creating my own arrangements. And even like that, I'm not sure to be approved because I'm not the owner/songwriter… Believe me, they deleted one of my tutos because I sang a song written by Roger Hodgson (and I did not earn any money on it!!! it was just a tribute...) After 3 warnings you can lose your channel and I will not run the risk… Fortunately, Toto is cool and I think they will accept if I just play a cover (like I did successfully on Child's anthem).
