I made this video 5 years ago but it was refused because I sang the melody which was copyrighted. So this is a re-release with the piano only... and this is your turn to sing along! I'm found of this song which is simple and beautiful at the same time. It comes from Supertramp's 3rd album "Crime of the Century" (1974), considered as Supertramp's commercial breakthrough, due to the creativity and productivity of the 2 writers : Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies (don't ask me to choose, I'm found of them both !!! :-)). This song is only composed and written by Hodgson, and it's the only song of the album where he plays the piano, which is not his first instrument. That's probably why it's a bit easier to cover than the others, and accessible for a beginner. J'ai créé cette vidéo il y a 5 ans mais elle n'avait pas été acceptée, car je chantais les paroles protégées par les droits d'auteur. Voici donc une réédition avec le piano seul... et pour le chant c'est à vous de jouer ! J'adore cette chanson qui est belle et simple à la fois. Elle est issue du 3è album de Supertramp (1974), considéré comme le début du véritable succès du groupe, en raison de la créativité et la productivité de ses 2 auteurs : Roger Hodgson et Rick Davies (et ne me demandez pas de choisir, je les aime tous les deux !!! :-)). If everyone was listening, il y aurait moins de monde dans les rues comme je le vois encore. Supertramp...j’ai découvert ce groupe avec Dreamer, j’adore cette chanson, j’étais en deuxième année de M. Bien joué, dans les deux sens de l’expression.

it's fairly simple, but on the 3 first chords, the finger positions are unnaturally and difficult (esp. the 2nd position) to get it rhythmically perfect at the same timel. Any suggestions?
I think the thumb is at the best position, because as it's shorter and lower, its best place is on white keys. I agree this way is a bit harder on the 2nd chord. There's another way to play these chords : to reverse thumb and forefinger. For example on the 1st chord : finger 1 on Bb, finger 2 on C, finger 4 on Eb. But, I think it's less natural because you don't take advantage of the length of your fingers.
