Quick clarification, are these scenarios playable with just the 4 player expansion, or they require the 5-6 player extension as well? The board looked pretty huge, haha.
All the scenarios are in Seafarers 4-player expansion. They are exactly the same in the 5-6 player extension; just bigger maps.

Hi! Our cats love to lay in the boxes too! Lol I do have a question on Seafarers #6, Cloth for Catan. You connect your shipping route to a cloth tribe island then you want to go to another tribe, do you need to start a brand new shipping route? Thx!!
Hello! Both our cats like it but Peter is taking it to a whole different level. For Cloth of Catan, once you've established a shipping route with a village it's closed and ships can no longer be moved. You can however start a new one from the village itself, as you would with a normal settlement. Tip: remember you can block other players with your own ships... It's a great scenario!
I hope to one day own all of the physical expansion games. For now I will continue to enjoy playing Catan Universe online with all of the expansions at a much cheaper price than the physical sets.

Great video one question so if a ship makes it to another island can it go along the coast of that Island to the next hex along and then build a settlement or does it have to build a settlement before it can move along. Thanks.

Im wondering if you can build a settlement on a new island with just two ships.
Like at 4:15 in the video. If you just built the two ships and not the third, could you then build a settlement on the new island? Or do you need that third ship as well?
It's not the number of ships, it needs to be 2 intersections apart to build a settlement. In this case, I could have built the settlement with 2 ships - I just felt there was better production value for the settlement with the 2 numbers :)

If we play first scenario with main island and small ones how we get vicoty points? For example I build vilage on small island (it's my first build there) I got 2 victory points and then I menage to build vilage on new small island (conected with roads and boats) and it's new vilage on that new small island do I get 2 victory points on that vilage too?
(I hope you understand my quastion as English is not my native language)
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, every time you go to a new island you get the 2 victory points for discovering, you mark them with the chits (the little round things) and you get the point from the settlement, so 3 points. If you upgrade to a city, then it's 4 points. Enjoy Seafarers, it's a lovely game.

I'm still confused about the tiles needed for the board. Do I use all base Catan hexes + all seafarers hexes?

Hello, so it depends on the seafarers scenario you are going to play. Follow the setup in the rule book to build the map. You do use the base game tiles.
The trade ports are used if you want to randomize it in the base game, you place them on top of where the original ones are. For seafarers, you will place them wherever the map tells you to.

Could someone clarify confusion with robber and pirate ship placement?
The rules say the robber and pirate ship start off the board if there is no desert. But in the scenarios diagrams the ship and robber are placed on the specific hexes as explicitly stated in the rules for those scenarios.
Where do I put the pirate ship and robber then?
Hello Andrey, I think you would follow what the scenario says and place the pirate and robber where specified. If you are doing the last scenario, New World, the pirate and robber start off the board. Hope this helps!
The only thing I would add to this is the boats do not count as the longest road until you close the trade route with a settlement on the other side.
Hello Bud, While you always need to have a settlement or a city connecting the road and the shipping routes, the rules clearly state on Page 5, that … "players may count both connected shipping routes (open or closed) and roads to determine who controls the longest trade route."
Can you move a single ship that is connected to a settlement if it is the only ship on it? And leave the settlement standing by itself with no ships or roads connected to it?

Hiya, depending on the scenario you play - the rule book tells you how to build the map. Enjoy Seafarers!
I'm so confused. I thought the boats can only move from their attached end left or right but not move all the way to another route... hmmm will need to double check but thank you for clearing that.
That's also what we thought until we re-read the rules for this video. It's shown as an example in the rules! Live and learn :)
its true. any open ended ship can move to any other open ended spot from any of your trade routes even if its not the same trade route

It depends on the scenario you play, the hex configuration will be different.

Hey, I’ve done all the scenarios - you can check my playlist on Catan and should be there.
Have you played Explorers & Pirates? I feel like it's a better version of Seafarers. Granted I haven't played that one, but I love how grand the game feels with Explorers & Pirates. Everybody starts off on the same base island and ventures off to undiscovered islands. I also have Traders & Barbarians, but honestly, ever since I started playing with Explorers & Pirates, I don't care for other expansions.
I have! I also made a video on Explorers & Pirates. I love the game and when I started playing it I had a phase of only playing E&P. But I do think it is almost like a completely different game, and if you want the trading and more of the social aspect then the others are better for that.
What's the difference between seafarers and explores & pirates
Seafarers has quite a lot of different scenarios. Explorers & Pirates has also scenarios but they build up to the full game, when you combine all the scenarios of E&P. They are quite different, in game play but I love both. I have made 2 videos on E&P, if you want to check them out.
Can I play all scenarios with 4 players?
Yes, all the scenarios can be played with 4 players. If you want to play 5-6 players you will need the base game and the seafarers extensions - 2 separate extensions.

Seafarers is one I played a lot, and I very much enjoy. I also like explorers and pirates but it is quite different to the base game.

Don't get us in trouble here! lol My husband thought English because he's American and often thinks everything is "English" but I also detected something else--maybe a little Irish lilt? I wondered if Livinia had spent time living overseas as well. She's clearly influenced by North American accents now but I wondered about India for a moment. I'm South African so mixed accents are par for the course as far I'm concerned!
