The way i really love the lounge/relaxed vibe that it gives, i literally got it customized with a local welder/carpenter because i can't get it shipped to Rwanda. I like that you talked about the metal bars, and I'm wondering if it would make sense (since I'm basically getting it done from scratch) to put another metal bar underneath the mattress at the bottom to connect the others, to avoid each sliding off! For that price i can get 2 matresses, big pillows, fabric, foam, a seamstress to sew all together and have enough money left for a rug, coffee table, bedside tables, more pillows and a blanket
I have a “floor couch” which is what I call the full sized mattress on the floor of my living room. It has a giant wedge pillow along the long side for back support against the wall, and a bunch of pillows. I love it! This is basically an elevated version, it catches my interest.

i find it comfortable & have taken a nap on it but need to juxtapose the firmness with my bed which is pretty soft for the sake of my back (extra firm doesnt help my spine alignment) but cold foam is used for a lot of mattresses on the market, so im sure it would suffice just depends how much support or softness you need or want.

I know this is going to sound crazy but I was thinking of getting this as a bed to replace my own. I don’t know if it’s a good or bad idea but I’m thinking about it. It’s so cozy and I do like it’s a mattress itself which to me adds to it being healthy for my back. The hard foam is kinda scary but I feel like a pillow top mattress topper would make this so much better!!! It just seems like a two in one sorta thing so if I move around it’s not to hard to bring with me in the sense of packing a normal bed and it’s frame. 3:33 heat shrink tubing might be a good, relatively durable alternative to add a little extra grip. It's also avaliable in a lot if different colors if you want to add a bit if a highlight.
I got this sofá back in march and honestly kinda regret it. The mattresses are not comfortable and they’re stretching in the middle like I can see with yours (the top mattress is rounded on the front side). It’s super expensive and I would’ve bought a sofa in ikea for half the price honestly. Or pay the same (2100 euros in Spain with the shipping) for another sofa from a better brand

I've also seen relentless ads for this sofa I quite like. HOWEVER. My concern is mold/mildew underneath, like I've seen a lot of futons and mattresses on the floor suffer from. I'm too lazy to be airing things out all the time. But putting it on a base is even more money. Maybe its made for drier climates. I used to have a 80s hand me down fold out foam sofa bed that I guess was kind of similar (we had it on a base most of the time when it was a sofa) Incredibly comfy, just ugly. But the two mattresses were joined together with velcro, as they'd kind of scoot apart in the night and you'd fall down the gap.

It has a very similar design but the cushions are sewn together and fold out, and each section is twin-sized. Really solves the design issues you highlight but the open form is not intended to be left that way, the undersides have different fabric. Win some, lose some? Question: I LOVE your wall bookcase, who makes it? It’s so sleek.

as mentioned, this isnt a true corduroy. Corduroy is quite heavy in weight and traditionally made of cotton, while this is not. its similar to say a velour tracksuit.

I recommend getting a memory foam mattress topper if you’re using it as a bed. Its pretty affordable and makes a big difference

id still launder the slipcover in the washing machine and use a handheld carpet cleaner suitable for upholstery.

There's something called a nugget couch and a ton of cheaper dupes for it. It's the same idea as this couch without a frame and costs about $200-$300

i wouldnt say the covers add any considerable thickness so your estimation of 17cm would still be applicable

absolutely- pretty lightweight and easy to pack. cushions fit in mattress bags and chrome bars can be wrapped seperately.
