RIP Chris Barber very sad - what a legend and brilliant band leader and trombonist
Unvergessliche Zeiten. Er war und bleibt ein Juwel = Klenot.
Thank you for the music and RIP Chris Barber and I saw you for the first time in 1958 in the Kurzaal in Scheveningen....you are a legend....
Top of the pile for me, RIP Chris, I first saw you in 1953 when I was 17, still a great fan.
Thanks a lot Mister Barber. RIP
Great band of jazz musicians , a great influence on my own playing was Chris Barber , learning by ear to so many of his recordings. Played through the same mouthpiece as the one chris is using here after a gig in Dublin early 80's. That mouthpiece was so sharp man , if you werent careful it would cut into your lip .
Thank you Bernard for posting this video. My memories of 100 Oxford are with me for ever. This concert brings it all to life once again.
Now they are over in the gloryland playing well! R.I.P
RIP Chris - Will always be remembered for his wonderful bands through the years !!
Listening to Chris’ comments in German, he mentioned Monty Sunshine on clarinet had to stop playing with the band many moons ‘ ago because of a health issue, so this was a special come - back performance for him years after his heyday playing and he did very well, till Ian Wheeler took over and then in Chris’ later big bands until around 2018 with several new clarinet stars till he passed away.
Ian Wheecler, ands NONE of t he rest could hold a candle to Monty in his prime.
The Greats! Colin Bowden what a drummer with one of the smallest drum kits - magic! Monty Pat Halcox Colin Bray. What a privilege to have seen and heard them "in the flesh"!
Stále moje nejoblíbenější kapela.❤😊
