What struck me was isn't thirteen bolts to secure that metal engine cover overly excessive..Did they go out their way to make it difficult to work on the engine....Really useful video guide, well presented...Thank you
In hindsight I should have filmed it, but I’d never done it before and wanted to focus on getting it right rather than messing around with a camera at the same time!
@snowy23704 unless it’s had the badge removed, it’ll say 160 on the back. Or take a look at the rev counter - the TF 160 redlines at 7,200 and the 135 redlines at 6,800
I’ve just bought my 3rd. I’ve learnt from experience to do the head gasket before driving a bloody mile 😂 great easy to follow video
Sound advice! 😂 glad it was helpful 👍🏻
The ability to change gears, is “a bit of a concern”, Lol
Great video, thanks a lot mate.

It's certainly not easy compared to most cars! I'm glad you found it useful.
Especially the three very difficult to access ones beneath the driver-side speaker. Any solution on how to get to them easily Willo?
The only solution for easy access is to first remove the t-bar, but I wanted to avoid extra work at all costs!
Mine currently only has twelve bolts as that final bolt frustrated me too much!
That's the thing with almost any mid engined car
Good video, did mine about 6 months ago, clutch feels like new
Another great video. Nice to see you pay attention to detail and refitting all the bits . Some mechanics leave things out as spares ha ha. 👍🏻
Thank you! Yes thankfully I didn’t end up with any ‘spares’ at the end! 😂
Not come across this fault/fix yet, nice one!...great sound too! 👌
Thanks Lee. I’m sure you’re well-versed with engine bay access by now but hopefully you found something useful in the video nevertheless!
Love your videos mate, just need more of them! V useful
Thanks! I hope to make some more in the near future. It’s been hard over winter and with lockdown!
usefull video! Keep on the good work.
Dude you rock
I'm interested that you didn't mention bleeding the air out of the slave cylinder. Why is that?
In hindsight I should have filmed it, but I’d never done it before and wanted to focus on getting it right rather than messing around with a camera at the same time!
Hey Bro could u make a Tutorial for dissambling the softtop
What slave cylinder ? I am new to mgtf
How do you know if there vvc or not?
The TF160 was VVC, all the rest were not :)
@@CarsWithWillo sorry new to these, how do I know if it's a tf160

Hardest way to get to an engine.
Great video, watch the MG TF v Z4, the Z4 owner was a bit of an arse 🥱, what exhaust have you got on your MG ? sound good. 👍
Thanks! Ah Joel is a nice lad but just very BMW biased 😉 it’s a TT Mk7 exhaust 👍🏻 with kmaps remap
