    I very much appreciate it when you upload the presets from your videos to the cloud. Thank you.

    The looper also records everything coming from USB (drums) too.

    John, only if you're willing to, could you please have fun with acoustic guitar through quad cortex? I'm curious about it. The possibilities, sounds, effects, etc. Thank you in advance. Keep on the great work!!

    Great video John. You have demonstrated some effects and features I didn't know existed. I also enjoy how you build a present in the video...Thank you.
    I live in a small apartment, where the walls are thin. The QC is my go to practice and recording amp where a real amp with speaker would be too loud for most of my use cases. I have a Boss Katana mkII 50w and even on 0.5 watt, it can be too loud. I really like the QC for its flexibility as my audio interface, recording and practice amp. And it is easy to build presets.

    Quick note on the Whammy block:
    Assign your EXP to the Pedal control and then the Heel and Toe setting are 0% Pedal and 100% Pedal respectively.

    I’ve had my QC for a few days, now. I’ve saved this (and others) video in my QC folder for near future reference, as my main focus now is building presets and finding a sound.
    As you said: one very cool thing is the ease of use. I really enjoy using the interface. But in my world; by far the coolest thing to date is the capturing feature.
    The Timmy is my favorite light OD pedal. I’ve done very accurate captures at 11:00 gain on all three toggle positions. Being able to tweak on the screen is a bonus. Just needed a little more treble and it was good to go. It’s a serious keeper.
    The big surprise was my Real Tube pedal. I did light, medium, and heavy settings using three separate tubes (AT7, AU7, and AX7) and the differences definitely came through in the mix.
    I used that Real Tube all the time in the ‘90s but only for light OD. It got flubby past 9:00 to my taste. So I’d stack it with another OD or distortion. Not so, now. Somehow the capture tighten it up, beautifully. It’s still chewy when you dig in but it’s sweeeet on its own or w a compressor before it, now. VERY happy about this.
    This is a little long but I’m very excited about it. So the captures are my fave at this point in time. Can’t wait to get some amps in there.

    It's even easier if you set Keys to match the foot switches "Key A to A switch" and the H switch you can set it to command those keys to go Sharp or Flat. So you can do all keys 😉😉😉

    have you noticed any crackling and popping since the last update? On mine it works fine for a while and then kicking on an overdrive or even sometimes a reverb/ delay will cause lots of crackling and background noise that is present even with no input from the guitar (volume at 0 on the instrument). Then I turn it off and on again and it's fine. Knocks my confidence in the unit quite a lot and considering contacting neural about it, I'm wondering if it's a software issue or something fundamentally wrong. Hadn't been happening prior to the last update a couple of weeks ago.

    In fact there are 3rd party sellers for QC. Smaller piece of the pie compared to kemper though.

    Just another tip - If you tap the number for a given value directly you will get a direct text entry box to put in the exact value you want without fiddling about on the screen or physical knobs

    I really never felt the Kemper required 3rd party profiles. There are tons of great factory options.

    Really fun little preset! Nice. So far, a few weeks into the QC I really love it. First, It has more effects, amps and cabs than I will ever need, with more on the way. Second - and this really drew me to it in the first place - it reminds me of an iPhone. Now that I have it, I still feel that way. I guess you could call that the form factor. Third, you're right, the looper is fantastic, both for its length of looper availability (4 and a half minutes) and the fact that you can place it anywhere and pick up all the effects that precede it. And fourth, the stereo sound thorough my studio monitors sounds amazing. My only issue so far is how do you listen to it in the room? John, I've seen all of your videos using a PowerCab, Catalyst, and a Henriksen Bud. I currently use my Focal studio monitors, but it chains me to the desk. I tried the effects loop of my Fender GTX. It was unsatisfying to say the least. I have a few tube amps, but they don't have effects loops, so that leaves out the 4 channel method. I bought a Mission Gemini 2, but that thing is a monster both in physical size and weight. So that is impractical and I had to return it. That leaves the following options: FRFR monitor wedges like the RCF NX10-SMA powered monitor, Powered PA speakers, another set of studio monitors, or something like the Henriksen Bud. I'm looking for something small and light for portability, a solution that will give me stereo, and something that sounds fantastic. Anyone have any suggestions? I will probably try a Henriksen Bud at some point, because they are returnable - at least here in the US. Has anyone tried a pair of Henriksen Bud's for stereo? Sorry for the long comment.

      I'm going to use a pair of Turbosound iQ8's for my gig on Saturday. In stereo like my studio monitors. It sounds really good in the rehearsal space so I'm hoping it translates outdoors.

      @@3mstudiospalmdesert Yeah, those look pretty sweet. I like the cases that come with it for ease of transporting. Good price at sweetwater, too. Around $1300 for a pair. Question: looks like they have speaker modeling. Can you turn the modeling off so that you can use your amp modeler's speaker and amp models?

    Just did some captures of my Golden Cello fuzz. Three stages of gain. The disclaimer is that it doesn’t do fuzzes well but these came out great.

    • @johnnathancordy
      @johnnathancordy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think the Golden Cello is quite a fuzz is it? I think it's like an overdrive with some fuzzy stuff if you really push it (and a built in delay right?) - I did some Fuzz captures of a Pete Cornish, and it doesn't come out with a bad sound, it's just that it's not really fuzzy or saggy

    • @bobprince1539
      @bobprince1539 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnnathancordy Interesting you’d say that as I use it on my small board as more of a hard/wide overdrive to complement a KoT. I did contact Mad Professor, though, when I was designing a larger board, as I wanted some reference as to where to place the pedal. He said it’s a pure silicone based fuzz and I could put it anywhere on the board. But I tend to agree with you. Seems more focused than others. I’ll give another one a shot and see how it comes out

    • @bobprince1539
      @bobprince1539 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was re-reading. I think the Cello kinda flew under the radar when it came out. Didn’t have that touch sensitivity when you dig in. Not earth shattering news but I think it’s a great pedal:

    My favorite feature of the QC is its UI and its simplicity. I watched you dial in some settings on your Helix and the amount of tweaking and dial turning made me dizzy. I am a busy Realtor and I don’t have the luxury to spend all day tweaking presets. That was my initial reason for not abandoning my tube amps for a modeler. Plus, the stock amps sound so good. I’m happy I made the switch and very satisfied that I chose the Quad Cortex.

      I’m a bit thick here…. What’s the advantage to not having part of the grid?

    • @picksalot1
      @picksalot1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@aaronbusch1993 If I understand it correctly, it means you could use the Looper independently of a specific Preset. So, you could switch Presets as you build up a particular Loop.

      @@picksalot1 I think that is normal functionality as long as both presets have a looper in them. Will have to test. Otherwise I don't get why disconnecting from the grid has any value either.
