    Thanks for watching! If you’re looking for work your passionate about, I made a video explaining the 4 things every job needs to be fulfilling. You can watch it here th-cam.com/video/KjWsK2xQ59c/w-d-xo.html

    How the hell are you this underrated?!! It's people like you who I wish to see succeed. I watched your "How I Mastered Social Skills As An Introvert" video and was utterly surprised by the low view count. I don't know you, but I wish you the best in life, and I hope you will grow big on TH-cam. Don't be discouraged if your video doesn't do well; just know that there are people who believe in you, I feel lucky having discovered your channel. You've earned a new subscriber!

I know your channel is going to explode and I am here before the 1k subscribers! Do I have it right that you quit to become a TH-cam content creator or do you also have other plans? I am still working as a corporate employee and at the same time trying to fill in my passion for arts, business, and many other things. I can't do all of these things at the same time and I can't just quit my job now because I am also a Father of 4 kids. So, I decided to upload my very first brand awareness content last week, and it was not that bad, then I stumbled into your video which boosted up my confidence to make more contents. Love that you added that fact that, no matter how long you worked for a company, at the end of the day, it feels weird to that nothing just happened. Keep up the videos man! I hope to collaborate with you soon. From the Philippines here

    So ironic, but I’m in this exact scenario. Making $147k “not on the west or east coasts, but the Midwest where cost of living isn’t too high so the salary goes a very long way,” but I’m working 60 hour weeks, my mental/physical health is deteriorating rapidly and I never see my family. I definitely don’t want to climb the ranks even further and be even more “stuck.” Good on you for leaving my man - I hope to have the courage one day

    • @_Sam_Chiu
      @_Sam_Chiu  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It took me a while (years) to finally build the courage, so I know where you’re coming from. I found that thinking about the logical side of things (money, time, where each pathway would lead, whether I could succeed) helped me realize what my logical decision would be. And then I just needed a sense of urgency to push me to overcome the emotional resistance (for me that was turning 30). Wishing you all the best.

    Couldn't agree with you more. After almost 20 years at a corporate job myself, I finally started my own TH-cam channel to share what I like. It is extremely satisfying and rewarding mentally - but giving up that 6 figure salary is hard to swallow just yet 😅

      Yes! Glad to hear you've felt the same feeling. Haha there is definitely a bit of a sacrifice in the short term, but as long as there's a clear plan I believe it's all about sticking to the plan and learning to execute it well. I hope it works out for you!

    Hi Sam, came across your video today. I’m 2 years into my first corporate role - marketing. I’ve always prioritised work life balance. I don’t want to be like my managers. No life and stuff. I want to work to live. I want to reach a point where I can work part time and live on my off days. But for the meantime I have trouble finding my true passion. Things become boring and repetitive so quickly. Anyway, my 2 cents to help the algorithm :))

    Good for you Sam, from the bottom of my heart i mean it. but in reality not many people can afford to do what you did. Many are in debt, many may have lives dependant on their income. Not many were given a choice like you. But am glad at least someone out there is able to break this chain of misery and still have the means to do what they are passionate about!

    Maybe what you want is a chance to express yourself, getting yourself out there and your voice heard. People come with a variety of opinions. It is quite hopeful to think that you can help people without 2-way communication and knowing their situations personally. To stop being delusional and having a more fulfilling life and relationships (things that made you quit your job), I think, in addition to youtube, you should also get a certificate for counselling and have your own office in your local area. Also, your perspective was quite pessimistic. You or Dan were not replaceable. Both of you occupied a position in the company as valuable assets and only after you left, would a spot be open for someone else. Big problem was, you were in the company, but you excluded yourself as a part of its vision. Thus, feeling unfulfilled. It is your life and it is your responsibility. However, I just want to clear things up for others when they meet this situation of finding a meaning in life and work. It is mainly the attitude of that person towards their situations. It is not just because of the situations.

    • @_Sam_Chiu
      @_Sam_Chiu  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your thoughts! I like your point on mindset determining feelings rather than situation. From a psychological perspective this is how our emotions work.
      But I have to say that one fundamental need of human beings is autonomy, to be able to do things on our own terms. We hate doing things against our own will. And unfortunately the economic reality is that if you work a normal job you’re very unlikely to reach financial freedom. Want to take a longer holiday? You can’t. Want to buy that gift for your partner? Maybe not. Have a health issue? Unfortunately you’re going to wait or get worse treatment to save money. These are real frustrations for me at least.
      Thanks for the idea on counseling. Perhaps it is something I will do. At the same time I do think many of us face common issues which can be solved with common advice, and using a platform like TH-cam can impact millions of people rather than an individual basis.
