this waltz reminds me too much of my grandfather. He worked a lot but he always gave space to music and poetry. I am a composer and writer thanks to him, he was my greatest inspiration. We used to listen to this and many other Strauss waltzes, which he loved. Every time i went to his house he asked me to play Strauss waltzes. We played the guitar and the piano together Until he left this world 6 months ago at 84 years old. A person with a true heart of pure gold, wonderful humility and great love for his family. R.I.P grandpa ❤️
You had a wonderful grandfather.
All Strauss II 's music is wonderful. He was a genius! No doubt.
The greatest genius of classical music I would say
Perhaps my most favourite waltz of Strauss! Thanks for posting!

One of my favorite Strauss waltzs.
At sixteen I played Artist's Life as a duet with my music teacher on two nested grand pianos in her home of the conductor/manager of the San Gabriel Symphony. I am in my 91st year and am trying to remember their name. What a lovely memory for a person alone this evening here in Chico, CA.
I can relate. Abt 1966, in Michigan, I played a blue Danube duet with my teacher, Miss Elizabeth Rohns ( 1891-1974) a stern but loving lady who lost her fiancee in a boating accident in 1911. We would often play Clementi and Kuhlai duets also. Looking back on piano, church choir and the fine people from our Church makes for the sweetest dreams now for me. The love of music has been a blessing for you and I. God Bless You!
Ann Arbor. I lived for awhile in Santa Barbara, some city but I missed the change of seasons and the friendliness of people in the midwest ( I didn't have enough money for some of the barbarites!).
just love listening while i paint.
I love this waltz by Johann Strauss, this Johann Strauss waltz really express"s my feeling of beging an Artist
His music is as grand as his moustache! :-})
Art can be portrayed in many forms. Be it ones words, ones ability to draw, ones music, ones cooking, ones craft. Creativity is a dangerous tool that can produce art or absolute ruin, that is the duality of art.
One of my favorite pieces from Strauss
This is the very music that inspired me to begin playing so many years ago! Thanks, JSII!
Playing what?
As an artist I can confirm this is exactly what my life sounds like

I love this one, it was danced by Stewart Granger and Deborah Kerr in MGM's "The Prisoner of Zenda", and it has became my favorite since then. Thank you for posting.

The theme for Arthur Murry's Dance Party. Early television. Arthur and his wife Catherine would begin and end each show twirling around the dance floor to Artist Life. Another age. Does anyone else remember?
I remember! When I was a little girl my Dad would have me stand on his feet and we would waltz around the parlor. I miss him - he was a wonderful man that set me on the right path of life.
Tom G closest I remember to that was Sing along with Mitch . Lol.... I prefer watching shows from that Era ! Simple true stories are the funniest. Peace...
I only remember this as the theme to "Jon Nagy's Learn to Draw," TV show!
Wrong! It was Tales From The Vienna Woods.
wonderful
Just love this piece!!!

A mais bela música
John Gnagy Learn to Draw used this as a theme.

Fanfiction brought me here... never thought I would say that...hmph
That's the kind of comment I love to see, as I also try to use as much classical music into my fanfictions as possible, haha. It's just another way of making awesome music that wouldn't otherwise be accessible be known
My wedding day we danced to this . We'd still dance it today, 35 years later !!
+Tony Simulinas Timeless music like this always makes for wonderful memories that never fade.

Paths of glory, rollercoaster tycoon and Dracula dead and loving it sent me here!
This brings me in a tragic, but fairy end. Like when of your parents dies and you are very sad, but you have a long long life. And you remember they for all. Of this music I like the flutes. This is perfect for a film!!!
This brings me to my point where I imagined i was sitting atop an orange juicer while I relieved myself from new years day luncheon.
Este vals en particular, lo baile al salir de la escuela Primaria, desde entonces esta en mi mente por siempre y considero que es el que más me gusta, gracias por compartirlo.
Certainly, we will never have songs like this again, absolutely insurmountable. Being able to hear them is a gift from God.
Merry-go-round 1 is really good value!

Прелестный вальс , С арией Орловского Приветствие ( Летучая мышь , 1979г,) теперь полная ясность , А вот кто автор другой арии Орловского -- Рассвело ?
I adore the waltzes Strauss

Oh, you Wicked, Wicked North! tanx
My dad used to waltz our 1965 ford Zephyr through the back lanes from Burnley to Blackpool. We had one of those old 'compact' cassette tape players. 1970s and few cars on the back roads to Blackpool. My parents gave me the love of Strauss. So so grateful...
Delicious music!!!! Period!!!!!!!
The only reason why i know this song because of regular 64 in peaches castle (sad to see it get deleted)
Sooooooooo amazing jee golly

Похоже на вальс цветов Чайковского, не так ли?
Proving that as always, fun never goes out of fashion.
The special issue or problem for pianists is to play Strauss as much as near accurate to the orchestra original version heh heh

Thank you Rod Serling!

Very good. Gotta love Johanne.

Para mi, la mejor versión es la de Willi Boskovsky con la Filarmónica de Viena. También es maravillosa la de Maazel con la misma orquesta. The best version about this waltz is with Willi Boskovsky conducting Wiener Philharmoniker, for me. This waltz with Lorin Maazel, and the same orchestra, is marvellous too.
