    Met these guys at a Denny’s in Phoenix in ‘79. Cool guys! I was only eight-years old but my daddy told me who they were. Good dudes from the south. 👍🙏🏼

    Dick Clark was such a great interviewer and supporter of musical artists. Saddens me that this era has passed

    Just heard that Steve Holland has passed away. That means literally everyone in this video, including Dick Clark, are no longer with us.

    You’d never guess it from the image, but some of those guys were just nice people. RIP Bruce and Banner… the world’s a poorer place without you.

    LOL I love Dick Clark asking questions that you know he full damn well knew the answer to. ("How many records is double-platinum?") But man, I still can't believe I missed this episode back then. Never knew The Hatchet was on The Bandstand. 👍🏻

    That's not Molly Hatchet, that's the Steve Green Band. Steve Green is the New York agent that stole the name "Molly Hatchet "from Danny Joe Brown and Dave Hlubek, and left them penniless ... Chips & Jerry Moman American Sound Studios Memphis

    I'm curious as to which song they were going to play with Dave on an acoustic guitar. Out of the 15 times I saw them play live, I never saw Dave play an acoustic.

    • @Mr05Chuck
      @Mr05Chuck 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeff Green probably was canned and all the studio had was an acoustic . I once saw a rock band called circus use Hawaiian bongos because they didn’t have a drum kit. Dick Clarke had to explain it cause it was so stupid looking

    Not the same as the first two albums. Danny Joe Brown WAS Molly Hatchet. Beatin the Odds and Take no Prisoners are solid albums but not quite as good as those first two albums.

      „No guts no glory“ confirmed that DJB was THE voice of Hatchet. Farrar did a good job, but I was glad that Danny returned in 1983.

    😏 Seriously, is this Dick Clark's 1st ever interview of a band?? He's asking dumb questions about common, universal things that apply to literally EVERY band! He asked, "you didn't start out playing to enormous crowds of 45,000 people, did you"? That was followed by, "did you have to pay your dues playing smaller venues before you became famous"?
    👉 No Dick, it all started out when they were teenagers. One day they decided to try playing musical instruments for the first time in a buddy's garage, and 45,000 random people immediately walked over and sat down on the front lawn to watch them play!

    • @bobthebear1246
      @bobthebear1246 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOL I know 😄😅 I couldn't believe the dumb shyte Dick was asking, and you know it was all stuff that he damn well knew the answer to in the first place.

      "No Dick...we invented teleportation. We just beam there."

    Dick Clark was a legend and all, but seriously, he asked a whole bunch of very awkward and silly and unprofessional and goofy and uncomfortable questions. In this interview with Molly Hatchet and many others as well.
