I hear you, my wife thinks I'm crazy! Why do you need all these jackets? Then she makes fun of me when we go out, and asks... Are you sure that you have the right jacket, it's45 degrees.. partly sunny, and a bit windy? And my answer is always... YES I DO!🙂

I am sure that the revised Nuclei hoody is the same as the FL. Just the name has changed, but I believe that the jacket is the same. It's a great piece, very unique.

Arcteryx just dropped some new gear. Mostly its the revisions of old jackets with a $50 price bump. Curious to know if you are going to pickup the Beta Insulated Down Jacket to review. It has been a while since Arcteryx released a new heavily insulated jacket in the same category as something like a Macai or Fission SV. I wonder how warm it would be I am assuming it is still 80g Coreloft throughout the entire jacket along with a secondary layer of 850 goose down. If so, I think it will be similar in warmth to something like the discontinued Fission SV and would be worth extra $ over the regular beta insulated.

I hope to review it as some point this fall. I'm sure that the jacket is all down, with coreloft insulation only is areas prone to get wet. Under the arms, shoulders, arm cuffs, in front of the mouth when zipped up, and I'm not sure about the hood. This is typical for Arc'teryx, "mapping" - having the synthetic insulation only in specific areas that may get wet.

Subscribed. I'm in the market for an insulated waterproof jacket for the PNW (British Columbia) during winter. Any suggestions? I would be using the jacket for road trips mostly. I got tired of taking off all my layers and then putting them back on going in and out of the car, so I'm looking for a stand alone jacket which is warm and waterproof. Thanks!

I have a video on the Beta Insulated jacket, that's really nice, and I hope to do a video soon on the Rush Insulated Jacket. The Rush looks really nice, I'm afraid that I'll want to keep that one! The rush seems to be a little more insulated than the Beta. Having the goretex membrane and water/windproof outer fabric really seems to add to the warmth of the jacket. I currently have a Therme jacket, but I find it a bit too bulky. It has a light insulation and a goretex membrane, but it's pretty warm. So I can imagine that the Beta and Rush insulated jackets will be very warm too.
