The way sisters curve and sway to a hypnotic beat is legendary.
It’s so beautiful absolutely amazing love my black people 🇯🇲✊🏾🙏🏾
Wonderful
Absolutely
Automatically in us......
We have African influenced poetry in the #Caribbean, in Spanish it's known as "Poesía Negroide". One such classic poem describes a black woman who sways through the fiery streets of the Antilles, and then it goes on to describe our islands, the blood and sweat of the sugar cane harvest, the flower that one island is known for, and how the black woman is known in each island. In #Haiti Kreyol language they say that their women are sweet like molasses and pure honey. I'm thinking of commissioning a poet friend, to compose a poem in Spanish, inspired by a Haitian woman.
I wish we black women loved and honored each other more
Yes you are great and a love black women
The original warrior queens! Protect us!❤
Well it would help if people stopped peetending that other people want to be slaves and domestics.
We were brainwashed by colonizers
Four Queens...beautiful
These women are Queens.
God bless all the black woman in the world 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Nina Simone is one of the most undecorated ,censored Jewel of the industry. Thank you my Four Sisters for doing this Jewel of a piece
After over 3 months of Covid and 800 years of oppression...this is salve to my wounds...I'm a music teacher and this whole thing is balm to my injured ❤️
Since I first heard this song ... my life has been different. Launched onto some new trajectory by the realities of the women in my life. My mothers, my aunties, my sisters, my cousins, and my grandmothers especially. These were their struggles and we all must sit quietly in repose, recalling their hardships. "4 Women" was for me ... AN INSTANT CLASSIC!!

Music Teacher here too and I believe the world NOW see the importance of our class! School has just been dismal and without music, I don't know how some kids would've made it.
Nina's daughter singing such a passionate classic written by her mother, gives me indescribable feelings.
Omani J W Wrght, to you in particular, the most recent comment I have found:
'Do I understand absolutely this cry from the heart.
So long suppressed/massacred by the self-serving human trait - which gave rise to Colonialism, (the tafficking for both enslaved labour in private plantations, AND, in the hideously large, ever-growing sex industry, this video, women's male testosterone so fired by injustice and the lack of respect for the power, the deep wisdom inherent in all awakened women,' called herself Peter.
In lieu of 22 years of corruption and exploitation faced in Indonesia and Malaysia (cleaned out, blackmailed, retained in horrendous conditions in two detention centres - one for many weeks, then eventually released for a 10% of initial demands), in an ongoing attempt to retain freedom of speech - the right to protest injustice and corruption, so often forced to change my name on the WEB/NET, also totally fed up with bowing to pressure, desiring to press on at any cost, (my recent songs: music and lyrics, all improvised and stored in a private collection I've entitled 'In the Moment - From my Heart,' so inspired by this, my next song I'll name, or simply sign off here, 'Just Call Me Eve.' 😘
No words ... Mind BLOWN!!

WOW!!! That was one of the best investments of 7 minutes and 33 seconds that I have made in a very long time!! Are you kidding me...these beautiful black queens represented this song and its emotion SO WELL!!! My only complaint is that I wasn't there to witness this beautiful occurrence in person. YASSSSS!!! This was STUNNING!!! They captured the pain, the survival, the sensuality, the hypnotism, the power, the strength, and the spirit of the song! I am almost never pleased when people cover this song, because they never do it justice. It was *not* a vocal showpiece to just do a bunch of runs or a performance piece to just dance around to. Nina EMBODIED all those women. And these ladies did a FANTASTIC job with it! One of the first Four Women covers I’ve seen that truly lives up to the live performances that Nina would do. All the ladies were absolutely stunning, in every way.
I'm Falling in Tears ... Really !
Absolutely and well said 💯
I agree 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!
A such encounter is incredible... what nice voice & girls... 😉
Jesus Cristo !!! elas é uma DEUSA acompanhada por ANJOS !!!🤩🙌🙏👏👏👏🦋🌹💐

Nina came to Jamaica and was misunderstood .Thanks to the Rastafarians who opened our eyes to our struggles as Africans at home and abroad.
The black woman is beautiful. The words of this song are so POWERFUL
WHEWWWWWW....blew me away!!!! I love this💕💞💕💞
Thank you for the words
I loved the song. So soft and So powerfull. Fantestic.
I loved the song. It's so soft and so powerfull.
Black women are beautiful, the most beautiful women in the world. Every race of humans came from a black chocolate kinky hair women. But yet people disrespect us the most, even our own men. May Yah Baruch the black women with eyes to see and ears to hear what the Ruach Ha'Qodesh is saying to the called out assemblies.
Each woman is all of them
Nina Simone lives on💫
Lizz Wiright is such a presence. She wears her body as it was sacred. She's a cult, a religion to herself. I'm amazed.
why are you cruel?
@@danicaloveshugs6494 in brazilian portuguese version song of Cruella de Vil it's sang "Cruella cruel" instead of Cruella de Vil, which literally means cruel Cruella (yeah as obvious as it appears). Cruella de Vil does make sense in portuguese too tho. I bet her name comes from some romantic language, perhaps italian? In any case this two languages have their similarities, and i guess "vil" is a word in both of them, meaning vile. But they choosed to change Cruella de Vil to Cruella cruel in brazilian version song to rhyme it. And i love it, i love how it sounds. I used to love the song as a child. That's why.
"Cruela cruel, cruela cruel
(Cruel Cruella, cruel Cruella)
É mais traiçoeira que uma cascavel
(It's more treacherous than a rattlesnake)"
And here for you to understand how it rhymes you gonna need to hear it, because we pronounce this word way differently.
Oh, yeah, and i know, "de Vil" is mean to be devil, but, see, it's a pun. If you speak some romantic language you'll get it. Or it is clear to english speakers as well? I'm not sure, not a big speaker here.
@@justdoingwell1223 sorry english is not my first language, but i appreciate the response :)
Perfect words!
Lisa did her mothers song justice
Simple lyrics that offer insight into the complexities of being a woman of color. Ms. Simone was the epitome of a revolutionary artist.

So love Ms. Simone. An American icon. These women epitomize the strength and beauty of our black sisters.
I be lying to you , I love of the difference multi -culture,flavor of the rainbow sherbet's of women, but hand down brown/black ladies, look, taste, feel , know they are the best. From being the originals mother , daughter, teacher, warrior, spiritual priest, prophet, queen, princess, from, today, still teacher, baker, singer, actress, but lawyer, contractor, school and business president, manager ,writer, director, publisher, fashion designer, make up artists, even first lady and spiritual preacher and teacher, you can't get no higher that, I admire, cherish, like, respect, honour ,her wow! beauty ness!even get on my nerves ness, but importantly her peace of mind and lo--ve ness!😂😉😚😎😍😎😋😉😙😋😎😎🤣😉I want to kiss Afrocentric chicks to death, kisses!!!!!!!😍😘😍😘😄😃😃😃😂😁😁😍😘😘🤗😍😍😍😎😎.

OMG Look at all that Black Girl Magic at one time! Bravo ladies.
Dianne Reeves just astonished me...Slavery was so dehumanizing and it hurts so much just thinking about it. Dianne Reeves's words are so emotionally powerful , they rip my soul, my heart, my brain, and basically everything else..
The words say how I feel almost everyday!!!!(
💯😢 , I still feel their pain , for me it's worst than death ! Thanks so much for sharing ❤️
Wow. Just WOW. The arrangement. The vocals. The voices. These WOMEN. Perfection at every level. I’m so glad I clicked on this. For me, this has to be my favorite rendition. OK. I’m gonna stop now. I got a listen to it again. Everyone take care out there. Be well

This is mesmerizing. That 2nd singer - oh my. Encapsulates the song. Lisa moves to the music. Diane brings the intensity o the song. The unison at the end - unity. Bravos ladies, Bravo.

YES Nails And Jean.. Lizz Sure IS!!!
This woman's is beautiful and deep ! 😍 it.
Lizzy Wright is brilliant. What a rich and smooth voice!
In my days at Yale, in the late Sixties, I was a radio personality and entertainer who had the good fortune to meet and introduce BB King, Donnie Hathaway, and the late great Nina Simone, an experience I will never forget. This song, so captures her essence both as a artist, social commentator, and independent committed black woman. I was sitting talking with my dear African American sister Felicia from Atlanta, when this song came on. It stopped our conversation in our tracks, we were glued to the screen, Felicia called this " Black Girl Magic." Amen, my sister. I had goose bumps and tears began to flow as I relived those times when songs like this captured and inspired our continued commitment to address the grievances of the past, not to be relived in the present, but we still have so much yet to do.
I love me some Diane Reeves, and Nina's song and these incredible black women's performances that each reflect the various ways our women and thereby our culture has been violated, truly is outstanding and moving. I love each portrayal, but for me, when the second sister began to sing, her voice echoed the emotions and pain of a hundred years, and captured a vital part of our complex reality: "Between two worlds do I belong. My father was a rich white - he forced my mother late one night. "
As the late great Nina Simone so eloquently put it: "Nuff Said!"
I saw this concert live. Unbelievable
The ancestors are coming forward to embrace, to motivate, lovingly, keep the struggle of freedom intentionally on blast for the true children of YAHWEH. May we have His almighty blessings always. SHALOM

Agreed wholeheartedly. I was blown!
PalmurcioWorld :...no regard for life”? That is what started this. How many black men had to be MURDERED before this reaction? How many politicians reacted when it was merely another black person losing their life? Now it’s a matter of loss of property, that got attention.
I agree - I had to listen to her again and again.
I cant help stare at Lizz Wright, her movements, appearance, and voice are perfect and hypnotizing. 🙌
Classic Performance
I knew I’d love this the minute Angelique Kidjo started with her haunting African chorus - she did a great job. Lizz Wright had me spellbound with her beautiful voice and swaying body. I was rewinding the first two for ages and Googling them to find out more about them. Lisa Simone was so different to what I expected and did a great job - reminded me a bit of Anita Baker. Dianne Reeves had the power voice and I am searching You Tube to hear more of her singing. So glad I found this treasure - saved to faves forever!

I like how they all sang "Peaches" in unison at the end. It really gave it punch.
they look so elegant up there together. they actually look like they are telling a true story that they have lived
+JLPerryTV they are.
They have lived the ancestral song of generations. That is how it can be believed that they have each experienced this slave interpretations. They know their history. Extraordinary performance
They feel it because it's the history of black women. I cried on the last song and I hadn't experienced any of it.
JL yes, they were telling a story they'd all lived....someway, somehow.
Lizz Wright’s haunting vocals really bring the song to a new level of awareness. It was very haunting

Just love this! The sophistication presented by these Black women is awesome. Sadly, look in the audience and see who appreciates this masterpiece. Each one of these ladies are masterful in their talents!!!!
??
What's wrong with the audience? Why "sadly"?
This is Nina's former band (mixed race). And no musician phoned it in.
I'm not understanding why 'sadly' look at the audience.
Music is a thread that ties us all together, from the depths of our being, The Self/Atman.
That's beyond the mind, beyond thought, beyond the roles we're playing in this lifetime.
It doesn't deny anyone's experience. Quite the opposite: it unites us in our shared experiences throughout the ages.
Every time I hear this I get chills. Their voices take your soul way, way, way back to the temples of Solomon!
