just do this capcom 1) stop all the dlc bullshit 2) sega vs capcom 3) release all the megaman games that you canceled 4) stop making 2000 versions of street fighter 4 and make street fighter 5 for ps4 5) rehire everyone that left
UpNorthGameReviews i am so sorry for being such a moron. i forgot to put in more consoles. i mean street fighter 5 for ps3 ps4 xbox360 xbox 1 psvita 3ds and wii u.
can't they just go bankrupt and shut down? There is almost no reason that Capcom is still around. -They fucked up Street Fighter by turning it to Street Milk the customer every 6 months with a full price DLC Fighter -They fucked up Marvel vs. by turning it to Marvel vs. Pay the full price 4 the same game with 4 new Fighters and Balance updates -They fucked up RE by turning it to Resident Call of Dookey since RE5 -They fucked up Devil May Cry by turning it to Devil will laugh his ass off because Dante turned to an Emo Twilight Kid. -They fucked up Mega Man by cancelling the games and ruined the Franchise -They fucked up Chaos Legion by not making a Sequel The only good thing they made recently was Monster Hunter 3 but how many chances are there that they will fuck up the upcoming Monster Hunter 4? Screw you Capcom. Get out of this Business and take Ubisoft and EA with you.
I agree with everything except the Devil May Cry thing you mentioned. That's a retarded reason for not liking the game. It was a good game, who the fuck cares if he changed looks. If you didn't think Dante looked emo since the BEGINNING, you're lying to yourself, or you're just a blind tool.
Eddiexx4 dante was waaaaaaay far from being emo and still kind of is the original dante was funny making jokes and stuff really i know no emo that's allways with a smile on his face and makes jokes and the new dante makes me think more of a Punk than a Emo he is just waaaaaay too arrogant and overall every character on the new DMC is a big "meh"
Honestly If that happens I will be disappointed. While yes, they have fucked up with Street Fighter and Resident Evil, its not all lost. The monster hunter franchise is amazing and if you would give it a chance(don't kill me for this) The new DMC is actually a good game. It might be because I'm a monster hunter fanboy and because DMC: Devil may cry was the first DMC I played, but I stile have hope in that Capcom can in some way repent.
I don't miss Resident Evil. ZombiU basically took them to school when it comes to actual survival horror. Mega Man and Street Fight definitely deserve better treatment, though.
What a goddamn shame that they're near bankruptcy. Hell 3 months ago when I went to Barnes and Noble bookstore, I saw a big book on Capcom celebrating 30 years for their company by showing characters that Capcom created. They got the nerve to publish that book.
Three things capcom should do. 1- license off a few of their IPs bring in some money. 2- restructure and make the company lane. Get rid of the bad management is causing them to lose talent. 3 - they should listen to their customers to see what they want, then they should go out and make that game
Guys it's time for Capcom to go, they can't fix their mistakes, they can't hide it, they have no clue what gamers want, they are out of touch with the consumer. Nintendo should buy off Megaman, Ghost and Goblins, Devil May Cry and Phoniex Wright, Sony should buy off Resident evil, and Microsoft should buy off dead rising. Guys I know we are scared to say it, but it's time for Capcom to go.
Darkwolf1730 Too bad that the top Hack and Slash developers/directors are working for Nintendo now--Bayonetta. I personally want to see Itsuno develop DMC 5, not platinum. The latter, however, is the second best option.
Akai sora Yeah but i feel that the bayonetta 2 will not make as much profit, if it was on consoles, it would have likely been more successful. Devil may cry really does need a 5th game and should be treated with care by a good developer and i agree that they soul bring back itsuno, I also really hope they don't abandon the original Devil May cry series for the Dmc Reboot.
Yep. Bayonetta should have been multiple platform, but it was more of bayo2 on WIIU or no bayo2 at all; no one wanted to fund/publish it. That aside, I want to see new stuff in bayonetta and the original game had some problems which I hope P* will fix. As for DMC, Itsuno already said he wants to develop DMC5 for new gen. The problem is, Capcom is in a bad financial position and it is a stupid company led by blind businessmen. I think that Capcom WILL be forced to develop DMC5 because it is nearly guaranteed sales, thus Capcom will steadily get their revenues back. What really happened is: Capcom got huge revenues from RE4/5, SF4, DMC4 and other games, and it tried to get "CoD sales" and took too many risks--they didn't pay off. The previous is the reason behind reboots and outsourcing--cutting costs and appealing to a larger audience. In the end, fuck capcom and hopefully they will recover; I do want them to stay afloat and I don't want them to go bankrupt, contrary to some angry fans/customers.
Capcom has the easiest out of all time. If I was in the office, the first thing I would do is cut an exclusive deal with Nintendo. Megaman Legends III on the Wii-U, designed to make full use of the gamepad for targetting and puzzles, make it the Legend of Zelda of the Megaman series (which is kinda what Legends is anyway) and make Nintendo pay for the exclusivity. They need a system seller, Capcom needs a hit game. It's a win-win.
I hate modern gaming so fucking much. It's all FPS and shovelware, or clones of Assasins Creed, Gears of War, or CoD. Every now and then a unique game comes along that entertains me but I cannot stand how the game industry has become a giant cash grab. it also really sucks to see these steady decline of developers like Capcom, Konami, Sega and even Square to a certain extent, it's happened over the last decade but it's become more and more apparent that most of these companies are mere shells of their former selves and can't live up to the standards we all once held them to. This is probably because key staff and developers have slowly left these companies, for example Yuji Naka and Yu Suzuki left Sega, those two guys were like the Miyamoto and Yokoi of Sega, after their departures Sega's began to free fall, Konami no longer has Kojima or Iga, I don't really know too many other famed developers there but I think the minds behind Silent Hill are gone as well, and Capcom, while they have fared slightly better in terms of consistency, still have yet to put out games that are anywhere near as good as what they were putting out 10-30 years ago, their fighting games have especially been a let down, Street Fighter 4 and 5 were nowhere near as good as SF II, 3rd strike or Alpha 3, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 was a complete let down and didn't offer near the content of MvC 2. The Resident Evil series has on the downward spiral since Resident Evil 5 and Capcom obviously doesn't care too much for Mega Man. This is what you get when you consistently put out mediocre products and let down your loyal fan base.
Thats why spiritual successors have been made recently. Azure striker gunvolt, yooka laylee, bloodstained, the evil within (awesome survival horror game). Yep, I don't need capcom or konami at this point.
I would release a new Resident evil game based on survival horror, I would continue at the point of Resident Evil Code Veronica X. I would use traditional characters with traditional enemies. Release the game as a downloadable game to cut costs and downloadable on all platforms. Then a few months down the line release the sequel. Hope that people give Resident Evil a chance again, for some traditional zombie fun.
If I get these Devil May Cry,Mega Man,Resident Evil, franchises etc. And turned them into animes with BETTER character development and BETTER storylines and use the OLD VERSIONS of the characters! That will make the fans dreams come true! My fellow game fans worldwide,We have to start a video game REVOLUTION to do something about this!
Capcom = Definition of on disc DLC Because of this I have personally sworn to never buy a new copy of any Capcom game. I will wait just to buy their games used, even if it's the exact same price, as a new copy. These shit heads do not deserve any of my money.
David Avila If that happens people will post patches and shit online for you to download to a flash drive or something, on disk dlc is a needless tool to steal money from people
I wouldn't bet on that. Monster hunter is a little like the 2d mario. making improvements along the way. It can only go up for that one franchise, but capcom has butchered resident evil, megaman, and devil may cry. So i would take that with a grain of salt. they need to rebuild their reputation back if people are going to care.
They've failed to sell 10 times and succeeded by 1. They are at -9 right now. Capcom is going to need to make that kind of success 9 more times to get out of almost dead state. And I can almost guarantee you that won't happen since most customers swore off they are never getting capcom games again.
myideas12 There is a way. There tactics. (1) As people have said here, make something like MM legends 3 an exclusive to nintendo systems (Wii U, 3DS) and Nintendo publishes it and pays for the advertisement. Nintendo gets a share of the income since they have a hand in making it. It will stop the capcom boycotters from boycotting capcom and Nintendo will have another good title on their system. I read that according to Keiji Inafune who used to work at capcom "Legends 3 would take $15 million to make", which is affordable. Do the same with lots of other old IPs. Both capcom and nintendo would win in this scenario. (2) Plain and simply LISTEN to the fans/consumers and make the games they WANT. Exactly what Alpha just said! (3) Any other sensible idea anyone else here can say. Unfortunately, capcom won't do either because they officially stated they are doing more dlc and mobile phone games. Just wow, they are going to go bankrupt...
At this point they'd need to rebuild good will with fans. They got to do some fan service and make something people wont resist and do it at a decent budget. He forgot to mention that Resident Evil 6 cost a stupid amount of money to make, which is why it had to sell so many copies. Take a series people love but havent seen in awhile, like Breath of Fire or Mega Man, and do something big with it. Dont worry about anything stupid, like deadlines or dlc or how to milk people for more money after release. Focus on making it the best game it can possibly be and then put it out and hope for the best.
If I was in charge of Capcom, the first thing I'd do is take a look at the franchises that fans want to see MORE of. Then, I'd pick the top three, get my best remaining dev teams together, and have them make kick-ass, classic-material games in those franchises. Those games would be multi-platform, of course, and to drum up some more fan hype, I'd have a fan art contest for each game in each major market with the grand prize consisting of a copy of the new game, a special edition cloth poster, a large plush of the game's main character/most popular character, and one or two few other goodies depending on the franchise itself (runners up would get lesser, but still cool, prize packages). After that gets those coffers a little fuller, I'd have the next most wanted franchises get some new games too, and get some folks working on some brand new original titles. Maybe license out the T.V. or film rights to a franchise or two to get some shows, OVA's, and movies going. And, of course, do plenty of market research to see what the fans want to see next. It did wonders for Lego...and now everything is awesome...😜
Capcom is completely going astray from what made them great. Koichi Yotsui ( creator of Strider ) , then Yoshiki Okamoto ( Creator of Final Fight , Street Fighter II ) then slowly slowy Hideki Kamiya ( creator of Devil May Cry , Viewtiful Joe and now creator of Bayonetta ) , Shinji Mikami and Finally Atsushi Inaba and Keiji Inafune left Capcom since Capcom tried to screw them over. They screwed with the people that made their company into a Household name. Trust me , They will go under very soon. Not even Monster Hunter can actually save them If I'm being honest.
Me too. I said 4 months ago on one of Blackbustershow's videos this: "I can't WAIT for them to go bankrupt too. They've ignored us far too many times to keep us as customers. Nintendo and Comcept are the ones that are cheering us up after the worst anniversary ever given to Mega man. Capcom doesn't deserve to be in business anymore after through messing up ALL their IPs for obvious reasons. In fact, I was waiting for them to go bankrupt since 2011." Now you may not be a megaman fan, but I'm also a big fan/supporter of DMC, breath of fire and RE too.
Capcom should just do what they can before its too late, make fans happy and not go bankrupt like THQ. They've been doing bullshit things lately and were arrogant, but I think its time to forgive them and support them again, even if its only a small amount of forgiveness. Hire all those 100s of people you claimed you would (including the ones you laid off) and listen to fans and give them what they want... unless they're the assholes who betrayed you and want you to shut your doors. I don't want them to die, I just want them to return to their Golden Age, especially their fighting games (Capcom makes the best fighting games IMO). But if your death can't prevented, at least make one last game we desire before that happens: Darkstalkers/Vampire 4, make it happen please.
I know that redemption arc for Capcom. Like it's funny how Capcom who was in the shit in 2010-2013 quickly redeem themselves and how quickly Bethesda fell from grace considering how they were top of their game in 2010-2016 with Fallout New Vegas, Dishonor, Doom, Skyrim and now look what happen
@Why The Hell Was I In Star Trek 6? I wish this garbage company did go bankrupt. They ruin Devil May Cry Street Fighter Resident Evil Marvel VS Capcom they don't deserve their IPS.
I'm actually one of those people who AlphaOmegaSin is talking about. I completely disregarded the Resident Evil Franchise after 6. So to actually hear Revelations was good? Quite surprised. CAPCOM are dead as a company now, it's sad to hear. Such a once great company...
Zayvorian Harris sales do not translate to quality products, they only translate to lifespan of consoles. give people money, they keep making your favorite things. this is the same premise that drug dealers operate under when giving people cocaine. give new customers potent cocaine to draw them in and get them hooked. give faithful customers who are already fried in the head some cocaine cut with baking soda or something of that nature so it doesnt cost so much to produce. if it at least remotely resembles the original product, the fried brains wont realize the difference until long after it's too late.
+mysticvortex13 Nintendo (not 3rd parties) have released some pretty solid games on Wii U, what they lack in variety, they at least make up in quality (played well, fun, DIDN'T require day 1 patches to be playable) and threw in some new IPs.
+Hammer T Bro didn't require day 1 patches to be playable? that shouldn't even be a selling point. none of the other consoles were any different. as for "played well, fun'", define those for me. give me some objective standard to work with here. and you're just completely lying to me about a multitude of new "IPs" (franchises would be the proper term, since intellectual constructs can't be bought or sold except from a legal standpoint due to their immaterial and non-unique nature) being created.
this would save the company: SF5 for fighters RE back to it's roots would save that franchise Monster Hunter a Darkstalkers 4 Breath of fire needs a comeback Megaman a new final Fight all these would save them but you know they are stubborn
All very good points. I'm especially hoping they pull their heads out of their asses and give us a Darkstalkers sequel. Also, while the (very) recent remake of Strider was excellent, Capcom is far from overworking that IP. I doubt people would bitch about a legitimate Strider 3, or even an HD remake of Strider 2.
I want to reply with Okamiden but Capcom fucked that up as well - its just generic there isn't that amazement there was when playing Okami. It saddening because it did have potential. Hideki Kamiya needs to work on the Okami title for it to be truly be something amazing - but he will never be able to as Capcom own the rights to that due to it being developed in the lifespan of Clover Studio.
The problem with Okami is that it was a commercial failure and capcom lost alot of money from it. As much I would love Sequels to Viewtiful Joe 2 and Okami I doubt Capcom would invest in something thats not gonna make them any money.
From what I am told by an insider, Capcom has a board of directors that is nearly purely made up of shareholders after the company was saved from going bankrupt around about the time after Resident Evil (remake) and Resident Evil 0 were released on GameCube. Microsoft had been constantly trying to purchase the company and Capcom kept rejecting the offer at the thought of being owned by a Western company lead.
Instead of a sequel they make an expansion of the original that should have been there from the beginning. I really hope that they do make a Dragon's Dogma 2 someday.
Sony already has their hands in that. Not Microsoft >.> Its a japanese company. They already ran to Sony for help. They are not going to fund their competitors.
Question: Is Capcom still alive at this point? I'm just wondering because Megaman was finally introduced to SSB (God, I really hope they give SSB4 a subtitle) 3:49 - Look at this in a different way - Do you really want another Megaman game released without the creator being involved? From Capcom? 9:40 - (Adds Resident Evil to list of "Franchises Ruined by handing to unnamed devs and due to revamps in concept") 10:31 - I'll thank you AOS, on behalf of "those people" for informing them about RE:R. At this point, I would like to compare Capcom to GameStop, just for comparison's sake. A big, if not the only, reason that GS isn't in the same boat as CC is because GS offers things that only a chain of video game stores can offer, and I'm assuming in many marketplaces, the only places you can buy your games are at your GS, online or secondhand locally. Last comment: Whether through a time capsule, or AOS's family, the video game "ark of the covenant" should live on after this generation of society.
I would do two things 1. Search for partnership with another gaming company to share both funds and ideas 2. Create a community which allows gamers to communicate with the company so we would know what the fans want
13:57 - Invalid conclusion. I have an MBA in Finance. From an accounting standpoint you can't judge a company solely by how much money they have on the books. Businesses exist to grow and if you have too much cash it is seen as a negative because the company isn't investing. If you aren't investing, you aren't growing. Too little cash is obviously bad because you need to cover operating expenses. But you would also need to look at their debt, expenses, sales, etc to draw that conclusion
Capcom should merge with Jump Sq. Magazine. Capcom already has a lot to do with Rosario Vampire, as well as them competing with Namco Bandai having Weekly Shonen Jump, Banpresto, etc. Imagine Capcom making a Shiki or a Claymore game. That would be sick.
Pretty much. Look at what happened when Steve Jobs, inventor of the Apple 1, was fired and John Sculley, Apple CEO, ran the company into the ground. Then look at what happened to Apple when Steve Jobs came back and took over as CEO. Steve Jobs was a product designer and creator. He understood how the product worked and how it was used from the consumers point of view. That gave him a better insight into how to please apple consumers and grow the company.
On that part about key Capcom staff members drawing the short stick despite being responsible for awesome games, it definitely hit me when I finished replaying Resident Evil 4 a few months ago. The director's reward for creating what's (rightfully) oft-considered to be one of the greatest games of all time is to have a crapload of trouble finding a company to stay at and not have a single successful game to his name since then, regardless of whatever critical acclaim and cult fanbases God Hand, Vanquish, and Shadows of the Damned may have.
what game devs dont understand is that alot of players still love playing single player games offline or with a friend. which is why halo 5 doesnt have split screen co op
If I was Capcom I would bring at least five gamers in like yourself and we would deliberate on what needs to change starting today and go forward with listening to the fans cuz I think that's probably what their biggest problem is they stop listening to their fans.
Fact: if they don't go back to the roots of their success, they will die. slowly and inevitably. Resident evil - Its not the non-stop action or constant jumpscares that made this game scary. It was the resource management. It was the fact that you actually had to look for items and health. If you missed too much or played too poorly... you couldn't progress. You know you got a good game when you are scared to open the next door. it was the subtle things that made this franchise so successful.
I am talking about an original Mario title (not the one that is out, no matter how fun it is), a new Legend of Zelda, the new Donkey Kong, a new Metroid title. They needed all their flagship IPs to have their own games out before holiday 2013, let alone 2014.
It's enough to make ONE AAA game of this generation. We're moving on to PS4/Xbone/WiiU, where games are going to be a lot more expensive to make. They plan on making another Dead Rising, Dragon's Dogma, Darkstalkers, Strider, MvC4, and Megaman game, but idk how they're going to do it with that amount of money.
What I would do is the following: 1. Develop a new & good Final Fight 2. Brainstorm and develop new ideas for Mega Man (and maybe X) 3. Develop upon unreleased Mega Man titles 4. Nintendo vs. Capcom (been waiting over a decade for something like this) 5. Be like Epic Games, and make whatever DLC free (if it is continued) 6. Create a Street Fighter sub-franchise where most characters outside of Ryu/Ken/Chun Li/Guile (i.e. Cammy, Fei Long, etc.) have their own titles based on their backstories and lives after finally fleshing them out because there is so much potential here, alone. *inhale* 7. Most importantly, listen to the fans, and share these ideas with them. Also, even though Mega Man X is my top Capcom franchise, I want to see new things developed with Final Fight, as well as Street Fighter's other characters in terms of games. Capcom does have a lot to work with, yet they do so little, indeed.
Revelations IS great, and it's ironically the only RE game I know of that was originally released as a handheld...why? I guess because, like AlphaOmegaSin said, the higher-ups think they know what they're doing when they seem to think that they need to lower the production costs for a game that's actually honest and...great.
I don't know how Capcom got to this point. They have a freaking army of beloved franchises, they could honestly keep afloat purely on re-releases if they needed too. The only reason I can think of is greed, everybody wants that Call of Duty money, so they make absolutely insane projections and spend a fortune on marketing.
Also, word from certain sources state that recently, Capcom has offered Keiji Inafune a new job with free project control on the condition that he cancel Mgihty No 9 and give back all of the crowd-funded money.
I'm a monster hunter player. he latest version of the game is monster hunter 3 ultimate on 3ds and wii u. The issue is that they are on monster hunter 4 in japan. Why can't they bring this game out the same time out here because there's certainly a market for monster hunter out here in the states on a console that most people have.
Church: What was the one thing I told you guys to do? Capcom: Get screwed. Church: You let yourself get not a little screwed, but how screwed? Capcom: Very, VERY screwed...
The one thing that gets left out of all these videos, is the mention of Monster Hunter, one of capcom's biggest franchises(mostly in the japan though). Monster Hunter had so much potential , millions of peopel bought PS3s in wait for MH3, only to have it thrown at nintendo, and then have the series destroyed as it was turned into a nintendo exclusive. Instead of keeping a hardcore like MH on a system with a hardcore player base, or expanding into multiplatform, they stick it on nintendo only, and now the series is dying and being outsourced as well. by capcom, been nice knowing you.
I know I have commented quite a few times here, but here's my actual take on this. Capcom deserve to go bankrupt more than any company right now. As AOS says, they just keep messing up their IPs time and time again, and they officially stated dlc is the answer. No its not. And if anybody says "No, capcom don't deserve to die they still --" SHUT UP!!! Do you honestly think a SHIT company deserves to stay afloat for 10% of the games they still make like ace attorney? They officially stated every single game will have double dlc. Hence, take core elements out of the game and charge seperately. That means your beloved ace attorney/monster hunter will be in jigsaw pieces. Do you see why they are still fucking up? Any good game they make automatically has a major flaw. And the awesome people that made the good IPs work for other companies now, and as AOS says the original people of RE DMC and MM are all gone. Capcom has nothing left but spam they're favorite fighting IP and DLC. They've been nothing but a shit company and they should of been buried since 2011. Its a miracle they are still in business. THQ, Midway games and Atlus did not deserve to go bankrupt and yet they did. And those capcom thickos are going to blame people AGAIN when they go bankrupt, unprofessional RETARDS. Glad they're gonna go bankrupt, but should of happened years ago, so the new owner of the IPs like Megaman can have megaman legends 3 finally come out with no DLC or any form of fuck up! I mean for goodness sake, there are customers making petitions telling them what to do, right in front of their face. I can go on for hours, so I'm stopping here. Just die capcom.
Did I really post this 2 years ago? Wow. I swear a lot less now. They still deserve to go bankrupt. Scam fighter 5 flopped and they can't make scam fighter 6. Glad I instant boycotted that scam from a galaxy away.
SilverHunterN Its especially sad seeing how they treated MVCI. My absolute favorite fighting franchise and as much as it pains me to read your comment, I can't help to agree. This video was 3 years ago and shit seems worst now. Not to mention Sega being close to the same boat as Capcom. Why are both of my favorite publishers fucking up soo hard now, when they used to run shit smh...
I would go back to square 1, and create a game that is a) playable, b) has a decent story c) has as many bugs in it fixed as possible before it is released, d) actually makes sense when placed into the genre of game it claims to be and e) have those pretty graphics that modern day gamers that have never seen or played a game prior to the Playstation X's (later remodelled and re-released as the PS One) release expects a game to be all about... if that doesnt fix the problem then they are FUBAR'd
Microsoft and Sony both occasionally will match a project's development budget (essentially paying for the game to be made) in exchange for 1 year of exclusivity. Also, Capcom won't go bankrupt just because they run out of money; They'll go bankrupt when they're $500M in debt and they can't get any more credit. For the time being, they're not in much trouble if they don't have any debt.
152 million? For a AAA game company, that's enough to make 2 or 3 games with marketing. As far as I know, that does not include salaries, taxes, or utilities.
If i was Capcom, i would take that 152 million, and invest it HEAVILY into 2 new games, since if they take a brand name, say resident evil (again), and make it into a completely different game, they run the risk of people sworn off not buying it, and alienating even more of their fan base, i would market 1 game as "Capcoms Comeback" and the other as "Capcoms Future", and put them on every system possible, cause it's pretty much hit or miss right now, and if they miss, it could be the death of em
...because they've been doing it for years, and unlike the other games you mentioned, most of those are optional, and can be played just fine without them. plus Capcom actually keeps the content of the games locked in the disc(in otherwords your paying for stuff that's actually already on there).
If I were Capcom, I'd give my all into creating the games that people have wanted and making sure they were the best they could possibly be with the limited budget they have.
Anything else is of lower priority and with Inafune having left Capcom, they probably don't want to have to pay someone to become the new lead on any possible Megaman games so they've continually ignored fans after more or less getting fans to start to make their own Megaman game for them, before deciding to cancel it.
At this point, Capcom should cut their losses on their flagship titles for the time being, and focus on really making video games a functional, interactive, art form again. Yeah, I know, easier said than done, but when you get enough people with a love for what they do, and a project truly worth working on,everything else just kinda seems to work itself out.
Dude, I totally agree with you.... now if I was working for capcom, I would for starters bring back an updated franchise games like darkstalkers, Dino crisis and rival schools. All were classics in my eyes. Hell, let us even go to a modified version tech romancer, star gladiator and all other games they been sleeping on. But to clean up there act with the majors, make street fighter with each and every character that was in the series and pull a Namco and have guest fighters from other companies like SNK. I would love to see Terry Bogard and team fatal fury to pop up and make some noise for ryu and the gang. Also fix marvel vs capcom by putting every character from part 2 in the game. But more importantly they had galactus as the final boss which was cool, but the sub-boss would have been better if he had sliver surfer backing him up rather than silver clones of everyone in the game. But that's just me and my wishful thinkin.
Meanwhile at Nintendo HQ on the top floor, Shigeru Miyamoto is sitting on Arwing styled throne wearing a Mario hat and polishing a realistic Master Sword as a Zero Suit Samus cosplayer massages his feet. In front of him is a small table with two blank checks for two IPs: one for Sonic the Hedgehog and one for Mega Man, biding his time with 3DS sales, he awaits the day he say to both IPs,"Welcome home."
But the worst part is the fact that they lie to us. And it's so obvious. They say the cancel new Megaman games because they don't have enough fans that would support the Blue Bomber. Yet the Mighty No. 9 kickstarter reaches $4m.
16:25 basically similar to what square is doing with the FFXIII series, everyone's shouting "next game", and what they seem to be hearing is "next game in this series?"
AlphaOmegaSin, I have been watching your vids for quite a while now. Have you tried the manga of Resident Evil? Definitely one of the scariest manga's I've read with zombies.
The problem with all of these falling gaming giants is that none of the decision makers are gamers anymore. They're all execs who don't understand their own product or market at all.
Me: Capcom, what was the one thing I didn't want you to do? Capcom: Get screwed? Me: And you got, not a little screwed, but how screwed? Capcom: Very, very, screwed...
1.) Re-release all the old Mega Man titles that were popular (Original series, X series, Zero, Legends, et al.) in greatest hit collections EVERYWHERE to make people remeber why they loved the Blue Bomber. 2.) Make Mega Man Legends 3 already. 3.) Beg Mega Man's creator to come back. 4.) Beg the fans to forgive us. That is what I'd do if I ran Capcom.
What's with all the "listen to your fans" crap? Capcom asked American and European gamers if they wanted updated Resident Evil titles to be as DLC or new disk purchases, and they made 'Gold Edition' DLC, accordingly. Just imagine how confused they were when RE4 and CODE: Veronica DLCs came out later on.
honestly, who the fuk is in charge there at capcom. they are literally 20 min from my house. I should barge in and have a word with them. good job alpha
I'm glad they recovered and are even thriving now
just do this capcom
1) stop all the dlc bullshit
2) sega vs capcom
3) release all the megaman games that you canceled
4) stop making 2000 versions of street fighter 4 and make street fighter 5 for ps4
5) rehire everyone that left
sega vs capcom? really?
" stop making 2000 versions of street fighter 4 and make street fighter 5 for ps4"
Other platforms exist, moron.
UpNorthGameReviews i am so sorry for being such a moron. i forgot to put in more consoles. i mean street fighter 5 for ps3 ps4 xbox360 xbox 1 psvita 3ds and wii u.
camme lark
Nah, you were right the first time. ps4.....all the other consoles are crap anyway ;) except for ps3.
TheBertoSan Shut up, moron. It's people like you that make sure gamers are mocked for yet another year by the masses.
can't they just go bankrupt and shut down? There is almost no reason that Capcom is still around.
-They fucked up Street Fighter by turning it to Street Milk the customer every 6 months with a full price DLC Fighter
-They fucked up Marvel vs. by turning it to Marvel vs. Pay the full price 4 the same game with 4 new Fighters and Balance updates
-They fucked up RE by turning it to Resident Call of Dookey since RE5
-They fucked up Devil May Cry by turning it to Devil will laugh his ass off because Dante turned to an Emo Twilight Kid.
-They fucked up Mega Man by cancelling the games and ruined the Franchise
-They fucked up Chaos Legion by not making a Sequel
The only good thing they made recently was Monster Hunter 3 but how many chances are there that they will fuck up the upcoming Monster Hunter 4?
***** French people are very sensitive to how they spend their money.
Ninjistic Now that's a valid reason I can agree with.
ZombiU most certainly did take them to school. I'm glad to see someone else share that sentiment.
What a goddamn shame that they're near bankruptcy. Hell 3 months ago when I went to Barnes and Noble bookstore, I saw a big book on Capcom celebrating 30 years for their company by showing characters that Capcom created. They got the nerve to publish that book.
If they continue like this , they will go bankrupt
I love how Konami just went on a crusade of making every bad company look tame in comparison.
And Capcom is starting a promising redemption arc.
Konami makes EA look like Jesus
Three things capcom should do. 1- license off a few of their IPs bring in some money. 2- restructure and make the company lane. Get rid of the bad management is causing them to lose talent. 3 - they should listen to their customers to see what they want, then they should go out and make that game
You're hired.
comgeturs :D
1 thing capcom shuld do: re-hire inafune and make MEGAMAN GAMES!
man you are smart....(not sarcastically, but honestly..)
:D
I don't know what to say, I think i need a new hat. My head just got bigger . Thanks, everybody is smart :)
For Nintendo, this was the Year of Luigi.
For Capcom, it's the Year of Their Imminent Downfall.
I disagree, Devil May cry was made for the ps2 as an exclusive at the time, it should probably go back to Sony
Darkwolf1730 Fair enough.
Darkwolf1730
Too bad that the top Hack and Slash developers/directors are working for Nintendo now--Bayonetta.
Nintendo and Capcom could just merge
Bad idea I do not want to play a Mario game with bullshit dlc in and nobody wants it too capcom would bankrupt Nintendo
Divine/Deathray
This, though I think Nintendo would keep Capcom in check.
Northern Wind Think again. Stupidity is contagious, and Nintendo isn't very good at marketing.
They don't really need a system seller anymore considering all the new Wii U titles coming out soon.
So this should be capcom's priority list
1.) Resident Evil Revelations 2
2.) Mega man legends 3.
3.) Go broke
Talibanana you forgot street fighter
Gabriel L.765132 ...We got enough street fighter lol!
Talibanana I know. but a hd version of alpha 3 max would be enough and i am tired of street fighter too XD.
Just here to say Capcom had a complete turn around and are now one of the best companies around.
God I miss seeing the Capcom logo and KNOWING it was gonna rock, I hate what they are now
I hate modern gaming so fucking much.
***** Isn't minecraft on wii U? Why is it on wii U when its now owned by microsoft? Unless that was before the IP was bought. Just asking.
My fellow game fans worldwide,We have to start a video game REVOLUTION to do something about this!
yeah something big has to happen asap.
They should fully release the Monster Hunter franchise in Europe and North America.
How Capcom has fallen from grace... I miss my Devil May Cry franchise, I hope 5 gets made at some point.
Happy?
Capcom = Definition of on disc DLC
Because of this I have personally sworn to never buy a new copy of any Capcom game. I will wait just to buy their games used, even if it's the exact same price, as a new copy. These shit heads do not deserve any of my money.
Venom NBK I'm instant boycotting street fighter 4 on ps4 and all versions of street fighter 5. Other games are far more worth my hard earned money.
Venom NBK Actually on Disc DLC would be a good Idea, you know if sony goes bankrupt and pn servers goes down.
David Avila If that happens people will post patches and shit online for you to download to a flash drive or something, on disk dlc is a needless tool to steal money from people
A few more franchises Capcom needs to bring back: Dino Crisis, Clock Tower, Giga Wing, and of course, fucking STRIDER
Oh how things have changed now Capcom has been redeeming themselves while Bethesda is going downhill
They might not. Not after the success of Monster Hunter 4. I know Capcom has lost a lot of money but they will come back.
And I can almost guarantee you that won't happen since most customers swore off they are never getting capcom games again.
wow i did not think of that. Do you think its possible to resurrect their old franchises.
myideas12
There is a way.
@@VariableArtist I'm from the future and Capcoms future is looking bright :)
17:35 OMG thank you for reminding me, Im gonna download the demo and see how it is
Crazy how much Capcom turned shit around
@VP Of Rent'em Spoons your crazier than arkham in dmc 3
@VP Of Rent'em Spoons what? I hated re6 and reboot may cry. You're just making a strawman here
@VP Of Rent'em Spoons I do. You implied I defended the company back then when that's not true
Nope.
After Resident Evil 5 I stopped buying anything from Capcom.
sadiq2008 Resident Evil 4 was great.
***** idd resi4(ps2 version for the extra missions) is the best re game.
RyuTora2808 No DLC bullshit!?! Awesome!! No, seriously those are some great ideas to get Capcom back on its feet!
Capcom can pull themselves out of their financial hole if they actually brought out megaman legends 3...food for thought
But they won't because they have a grudge against Inafune.
JohnIbizu yeah its a pride thing with them
I really, really hope Capcom goes bankrupt and dies. They are ruining countless series... including Breath of Fire... heck especially Breath of Fire.
Me too. I said 4 months ago on one of Blackbustershow's videos this:
"I can't WAIT for them to go bankrupt too. They've ignored us far too many times to keep us as customers. Nintendo and Comcept are the ones that are cheering us up after the worst anniversary ever given to Mega man. Capcom doesn't deserve to be in business anymore after through messing up ALL their IPs for obvious reasons. In fact, I was waiting for them to go bankrupt since 2011."
Now you may not be a megaman fan, but I'm also a big fan/supporter of DMC, breath of fire and RE too.
Dude this is the first time I've watched you and I gotta say you are now my new Messiah keep up the good work!!!! Preach on brother!!
Yet, they lived...
Fire everyone and find some new creative people, If we are going under, go with a bang.
Do we get Micheal Bay xD
nah I did say creative people ;-)
Rasmus Nielsen Not enough ice in the freezer...
Then lets get som freon
Paul Anderson :D
Its actually ... good?
I'm actually one of those people who AlphaOmegaSin is talking about. I completely disregarded the Resident Evil Franchise after 6. So to actually hear Revelations was good? Quite surprised. CAPCOM are dead as a company now, it's sad to hear. Such a once great company...
Nintendo, you know what to do
+GaymersPlace
sony's been fucked since ps3 and ps vita came out. no sane person would release such consoles.
+GaymersPlace I beg to differ. Smash 4 sold very well and there's bound to be more money when Corrin and Baynette come out.
Zayvorian Harris
sales do not translate to quality products, they only translate to lifespan of consoles.
give people money, they keep making your favorite things.
this is the same premise that drug dealers operate under when giving people cocaine.
give new customers potent cocaine to draw them in and get them hooked. give faithful customers who are already fried in the head some cocaine cut with baking soda or something of that nature so it doesnt cost so much to produce.
if it at least remotely resembles the original product, the fried brains wont realize the difference until long after it's too late.
+mysticvortex13 Nintendo (not 3rd parties) have released some pretty solid games on Wii U, what they lack in variety, they at least make up in quality (played well, fun, DIDN'T require day 1 patches to be playable) and threw in some new IPs.
+Hammer T Bro
didn't require day 1 patches to be playable? that shouldn't even be a selling point. none of the other consoles were any different.
as for "played well, fun'", define those for me. give me some objective standard to work with here.
and you're just completely lying to me about a multitude of new "IPs" (franchises would be the proper term, since intellectual constructs can't be bought or sold except from a legal standpoint due to their immaterial and non-unique nature) being created.
this would save the company:
SF5 for fighters
RE back to it's roots would save that franchise
Monster Hunter a
Darkstalkers 4
Breath of fire needs a comeback
Megaman
a new final Fight all these would save them but you know they are stubborn
All very good points. I'm especially hoping they pull their heads out of their asses and give us a Darkstalkers sequel.
Also, while the (very) recent remake of Strider was excellent, Capcom is far from overworking that IP. I doubt people would bitch about a legitimate Strider 3, or even an HD remake of Strider 2.
Can't wait for their new games that have DLC on disk.
I want OKAMI2*flails*
I want to reply with Okamiden but Capcom fucked that up as well - its just generic there isn't that amazement there was when playing Okami. It saddening because it did have potential.
Hideki Kamiya needs to work on the Okami title for it to be truly be something amazing - but he will never be able to as Capcom own the rights to that due to it being developed in the lifespan of Clover Studio.
I liked Okamiden for it's cute factor but the rest just didn't measure up exactly as you said.
Where the fuck is a sequel for dragons dogma i mean one of my favourite capcom games hated by many and left for dead in a pile of shit
Instead of a sequel they make an expansion of the original that should have been there from the beginning. I really hope that they do make a Dragon's Dogma 2 someday.
CAPCOM res 4 ps3 disc release
CAPCOM Financial problems ? It sound like Microsoft Will buy capcom out
Sony already has their hands in that. Not Microsoft >.>
Its a japanese company. They already ran to Sony for
help. They are not going to fund their competitors.
Question: Is Capcom still alive at this point? I'm just wondering because Megaman was finally introduced to SSB (God, I really hope they give SSB4 a subtitle)
3:49 - Look at this in a different way - Do you really want another Megaman game released without the creator being involved? From Capcom?
9:40 - (Adds Resident Evil to list of "Franchises Ruined by handing to unnamed devs and due to revamps in concept")
10:31 - I'll thank you AOS, on behalf of "those people" for informing them about RE:R.
I love watching some of the older videos. Good stuff and I can see the progression of the beard lol. You should do a beard timeline montage lol.
I would go back to my gaming roots. Why I started making games, what brought me to love them, make them, sell them, and bring joy to others with them
Capcom should merge with Jump Sq.
Oh Pinkie, it's such a shame everyone doubts your young wisdom; it's something people should listen to a lot more. D;
i haven't played a capcom game or even played a capcom game since 2 years ago
Actually for DMC, they predicted 6 mil copies sold, revised that to 5 mil, then down as far as 2 mil which they didn't even reach.
never stop doing videos alpha,u rock man !!!
Holy crap. He actually does have a playlist with Capcom rants. 23 videos. o_o Gotta watch.
This is the first of your videos I've seen :p I like it. Plus you had a rockin opening with beavis and butt head. That fuckin rocks! I'm subscribing
Damn I just wanted a new Onimusha game..:'(
If I was Capcom I would bring at least five gamers in like yourself and we would deliberate on what needs to change starting today and go forward with listening to the fans cuz I think that's probably what their biggest problem is they stop listening to their fans.
Dont remind me of Onimusha god fucking dammit... :C
They needed all their flagship IPs to have their own games out before holiday 2013, let alone 2014.
awsome points i just subscribed u made me a believer ur knowledge is crazy and allways on point..
I like how you're so passionate about this topic.
What I would do is the following:
1. Develop a new & good Final Fight
2. Brainstorm and develop new ideas for Mega Man (and maybe X)
3. Develop upon unreleased Mega Man titles
4. Nintendo vs. Capcom (been waiting over a decade for something like this)
5. Be like Epic Games, and make whatever DLC free (if it is continued)
6. Create a Street Fighter sub-franchise where most characters outside of Ryu/Ken/Chun Li/Guile (i.e. Cammy, Fei Long, etc.) have their own titles based on their backstories and lives after finally fleshing them out because there is so much potential here, alone. *inhale*
13:20 No dude, you're no chucklehead. You're a gaming genius!
Im pretty sure the reason Capcom killed Mega Man was because the new games weren't hitting sales targets and they rather not press their luck further.
Holy Crap, I had no idea Capcom was in this much trouble. Now a lot of things are starting to make sense.
There's no point in releasing multiple titles for a system launch when it'll probably have like 17 games out for it. People are bound to buy it.
I wonder if having that little money left is a good reason they're NEVER going to be able to sue Mighty No. 9.
Capcom use to be that older sibling that needed to be looked up to. Now, Capcom is that family member we just want to backhand a few times.
I just think Capcom is striving to become a real life Umbrella Corporation. Creating disasters which lead to their stock plummeting.
Capcom games is the best game ever...and now...they're gone in progress...what a shame...
Damn! Capcom better not go down the shitter.I want my Ace Attorney games!
All they really need to do is beg for Inafune and Mikami to come back, apologize, and have them make whatever games they want.
honestly, who the fuk is in charge there at capcom. they are literally 20 min from my house. I should barge in and have a word with them. good job alpha
