The team at Midwest Street Cars has been trying to dial the car in to handle the street tires they're running for the race, playing on the verge of spinning or wheelie'ing! The commentary from Big Chief & Murder Nova is pretty hilarious, it's been great seeing both of them race all weekend!

Truly surprised how well that car handled the wheelie. Didn't move an inch. And that come down couldn't have been any cleaner. Seriously good driving, and what a well built car.
For fucking real. When you don’t have any pressure to base whether or not your moving that steering wheel out of straight alignment all while shifting and peddling down the front end and you still don’t jerk at all coming back to earth.
Fucking extreme precision driving.
Imagine that wheel is slightly off and you come down wheels pointed at the Fucking 3 minute mark on a clock.

Every guy with a liter bike knows that feeling they either spin, stand straight up, or just go like hell! Actually a perfect pass is a combination of barely spinning wheel up inch or two the whole quarter. I never realized how much I was on the back wheel until I ran one day with the front fender off mine that front wheel was never on the ground until you hit 120mph then it still came up sometimes.

This is the point when you KNOW you genuinely need front downforce. Mind you that Nova is pushing what? ~1100 hp on smalls, 1600+ hp on bigs. Anything with less is just for looks.
+DopetheWind It wasn't aerodynamic lift that put that front end in the air, it was power and grip...
+entropy156 front downforce from a front splitter/wing will do the same as a wheelie bar if you do it right. The faster you go, the more downforce, the more downforce, the more power to the ground, and it's way lighter than a wheelie bar. Think Top Fuel.
DopetheWind would have made absolutely no difference in this case. There's no such thing as a splitter that makes enough down force to have kept the front of that car down on that pass. This is not a AA/Dragster with a front end you could pick up over your head, it's a mostly steel 3500 lb back-halfed street race car. It has to be able to do things like get loaded on and off a trailer in a big hurry on the side of the road which would tear any low hanging aero junk right the hell off the very first time. That wheelie was not about lift, it was about making insane amounts of power when the car is already doing 150 or better.
