- With all of the fakes, the replicas, and tributes it has been difficult to know what it is rumor. With the clarity of time, I've pieced it all together.

What made the movies so good is that the cars was it's own character.. they complimented the actors. And they were unique.. not they are just props
That's true the cars are characters themselves that's why Dom's Charger is loved so much, it has a back story and meaning behind it, whereas the new movies don't have this.
Just like the first Rambo, that Gil Hibben knife got so much screen time, it was a "character".
Can we all just take a second to thank Craig for his continued information on some our favourite movie cars and movies (some movies I might add) 😉 I'm so glad he decided to create his channel for our listening pleasure 🙏
I didn’t know you worked on herbie lol I enjoyed that movie when I was younger, maybe make a video about that and interesting facts and things you did to contribute in making that movie!
now I want to know more about Herbie
fully loaded
The Fast & Furious franchise really got me into ‘68 and ‘70 Chargers and turned me into a muscle and tuner car fan.
Herbie fan here, would love to hear some stories from your time Herbie Fully Loaded, and maybe new tidbits that people have not heard of yet.
To be honest, if he did a video on Herbie, I'd love for it to be about some of the secondary cars, like the yellow New Beetle or the Pontiac GTO Herbie raced in that beginning scene. Granted, considering their small parts, they were probably just stock with some cosmetic mods, I'd just love to hear anything about them because there's nothing about any of the cars besides the Herbie cars. They seemed to have completely disappeared from the face of the earth.
My life is a lie. That wheelie always made me tear up. So beautiful.
Would love to know more about the Tokyo Drift cars like the 350z, RX7, Evo and the Mustang
And a sequel too
Craig's uploading on Saturday morning is like waking up Saturday morning cartoons again
Let’s get some Herbie videos! Would love to see a vid on the Sudden Death Herbie build!
I remember seeing the wrecked charger from Fast and Furious for sale at the Volo auto Museum back in 2004 for $30,000 back then
It is at the Celebrity car museum in Bronson now :)
We really appreciate the behind the scenes and backstories
Hi, Craig!
I love your content and all of the stories you've shared with us both of your time with Universal and with today's pressing topics in the automotive world. I hope you find even greater success and viewership here on TH-cam than what you already have - you certainly know a ton and deserve every audience member you get!
Love Fast & Furious. My father took me to see it for my birthday back in 01!, The Charger doing the wheelie was an awesome scene, and I will have to check out Volo!
That's another informative episode there Craig 👍🏼 always a pleasure getting to know more info about the first original cars of the F&F movies 👍🏼👍🏼
It is SO cool to know that the charger in Fully Loaded is the original jumped charger from TF&F
"For those ten seconds or less, I'm free" - I'll watch the movie every now and then just for that scene
I didn't know you worked on Herbie too, it would be very interesting if you did a video talking about you work on the movie.
Now you can build Dynacorn reproduction body Chargers or rebodied Crown Victorias instead of killing original Chargers.
The thing I always remember from the scene of dom rolling the car is seeing the stunt drivers helmet
Last time I took the Universal lot tour Dom’s Charger was parked in the driveway of one of the ‘Desperate Housewives’ homes. It was hilarious the first time and the memory/mental pic still makes me chuckle. 😄
The Maximus Charger was built by Nelson Racing and was intentionally left as polished bare metal
I saw Doms Charger at Barrett-Jackson about 12ish years ago. Met one of the builders who happened to be bringing the Charger to the block. He showed me around the car. And all its little building secrets. It was pretty interesting.
I was told (and shown) a 350 Chevy motor. He told me they didnt have a big budget, so they got the cheapest motor.
He also showed me the blower was covering an electric water pump which was switch activated to spin the blower. The belt was just wrapped around the blowers cog. And held together by rivets.
12:53 never saw it says CAR SICK on the plate lol Same for the og charger differences you mentioned :)
Would love to hear about your time working on Herbie Fully Loaded loved Herbie when I was a child.
I remember the original trailer that showed the charger doing a wheelie from that very angle and you can see the wheelie bar holding the car up. At the time I was 15 and didn't know a ton about cars but I knew that it was part of the Hollywood trick. Wonder if I could find that same trailer somewhere online
I would be interested to know what was your involvement in herbie fully loaded, i think that would be a cool subject for a video like you need for speed video
yes i was about to ask the same thing
Having fun with Lohan in the back of the Love Bug
Curious, what happened to the Fbomb?
Back in January, I got to meet the actor who played Jesse from the first movie, and got a tour of his actual movie car. This was at the Philadelphia car show. I got to touch a piece of movie history.
If i never see another dodge product again it'll be too soon.
dodge is going political woke
Additional information: Doms wrecked Charger from the final scene has not been restored: It can be visited at a museum in Branson, MO. Celebrity car museum
Thanks.
Really good point about the newer movies - post tokyo drift (even kind of TD too) - having cars pop up for a few seconds. I guess I love to see the story of the character but building a story with the car alongside them too - that's what made it good!
I remember reading about the 70 Charger used in the first F&F in Hot Rod magazine. They told of the fake supercharger and that they were using 350 Chevy engines in the cars. Being a Mopar guy I lost interest quickly. To hear today that they stayed true to using Mopar engines makes me feel a lot better. And answer the question in my mind as to why you would go to the trouble to swap the engines out. If it’s Chevy. Keep it that way. Dodge then keep it that way. All manufacturers make a really good V-8 that their fans would swear by. Thanks for clearing this up.
@Craig Lieberman can we get some info on the gto/3000gt from the prelude to 2f2f
I remember seeing the charger displayed at universal studios in Florida back in 2004. It looked like the real deal, but this one had a functional supercharger and all. Such a shame, i wonder what ever happened to it..
I remember that. It sat right beside the orange supra. I have a picture of those somewhere.
Long story short: it's all show, no go. But even then, never underestimate the power of family itself!
12:01 There it is! My favorite car from the franchise!
Was there ever any info on that Jensen Letty drove in 6? I just randomly thought of it. lol
The volo museum shows the car well! Totally worth the trip I would recommend to any of you!
Very cool and informative video! Thanks for letting us know what happened over the years with the Chargers! I’m in SoCal and I had the chance to see the Hero Charger at Universal back in 2009. Let me just say, even at that time the car’s paint was already fading and not looking too good! Glad it got redone!
I got to see the hero charger at universal years ago. Along with Jesse’s Jetta. Pretty sweet
same!
@@Patrick-dn3zt that’s cool!
Craig you worked in "Herbie fully loaded" and never spoke about that movie here!? That's great, nobody gives a shit about that movie
That movie had doms wrecked charger in it funnily enough
I liked it when I was a kid, but kids were kinda the target audience anyway
@@Subieghost yeah Herbie will always have a soft spot for me
We knew he didn’t pull a wheelie when the tires were smoking. 😂
Hey Craig, could you do a feature on how you would modify some modern tuner cars? I would like to hear what would you do differently....also interviewing some of your contacts might be interesting, new ideas for modifications are always good
I recently saw the wrecked stunt Charger on display at the Celebrity Car Museum in Branson.
What about Hector's gold civic wagon, I know it was in mini truckin mag back in the day, always loved that
Hi, Craig. I really enjoy your videos, especially the ones where you talk about the vehicles from The Fast and the Furious 1, because for me, it was the best movie of them all. I find it amazing that you talk about all the vehicles in this movie. I’d also love it if you could tell us something about the motorcycles featured in this movie (The Fast and the Furious 1). I’d like to know more about these motorcycles, for example, the sport bikes used to intercept the Mitsubishi Eclipse, and the enduro bikes that are used in the chase scene with the Toyota Supra at the end of the movie. It would be incredible to know if you were involved in this process in any way. And anything related to these motorcycles would be great. Your videos are awesome. Keep making more content like this. Greetings from Bogotá, Colombia.
Volo is a great place, been a number of years since I was last there, but they did have a couple of the 2 fast cars, and fast 4 cars when I was there
Out of all the movies, and all the cars ... I'd still take the nascar looking monte Carlo over any of them. I remember reading an article in hot rod magazine, where they let some editors play with the cars(rb mustang, drifty 350z, and the Monte)
They described the mustang as, "souded like Grandpas tractor with a turbo slapped on it" and were unimpressed with most of them.... except that Monte.
At least one of them was a real hot rod.
Wasn't that a Caprice?
Hey Craig, I got back into the franchise when Fast and Furious (4th) came out and fell in love with Dom's matte gray 70 Chevelle. Any story on where those wound up? I think Volo owned one many years ago and had it up for sale, but it never looked authentic and had wrong wheels or tires.
@Craig lieberman, since you're doing the update versions of the fast and the furious cars, can you also do the updated version of technical errors of the first three fast and furious movies?
Can you do a video on Herbie fully loaded car
God no 😂
Yea I wonder what's inside that vw bug
I got involved in transport one the Charger from Orlando, FL to Atlantic City auction. I have had 318 and fake supercharger..I can send the photos to anyone as requested!
I would absolutely love to see em that's freakin awesome
Nice from wish movie was the car ? ❤
I had an Acura NSX and sold it before this movie came out and after I seen the movie I bought an Eagle Talon TSI all wheel drive and built the shit out of it nobody in South East Missouri could touch that car street racing but I couldn't keep the transfer case and the front axles from exploding all of the time I ran all of the salvage yards in my area out of parts so the car just set on the hillside by the hog pens until some younger guy came along and bought it from me and he never got it fixed because he couldn't find any parts thanks to me buying and using up all the parts in the area lol.
You mentioned the hernie film. Could you share some from that film ?
I have to ask and have often wondered. How much info you have on the 3 black civics with green underglow from the first movie. As when I was a teen and working my first job I discovered a sales listing on Piston heads (to my knowledge a UK site) for all 3 cars from the movie. I don't know how legit they were or anything. But it's always stuck in my mind that I had seen all 3 for sale when I was a kid.
Im from Saskatchewan I remember going to Universial studious and seeing that charger the body was in bad shape was rotted and beat up but was cool to see and touch it in person 👊
I’m a huge fan of the Fast series but I wanted to know what you thought of the 2008-2010 Chevy Cobalt SS Turbo cars as well as their predecessors in the 2005-2007 Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged cars. I’ve owned both with multiple upgrades to the engine, suspension and exhaust systems. I also owned a 68 Dodge Charger R/T 440, with the performance package and last but certainly not the least I owned a 1992 Skyline GTR (RHD). I miss the Charger the most but I was getting married so unfortunately the 68 Charger was the one I could get the most money for back in 2010. Anyway, I would really like to see what you think about the Cobalt SS both of the options, the 05-07 Supercharged version and the 08-2010 SS Turbo version. Thank you in advance and I really enjoy your content and your insight into these cars that we love to this day. Take care and keep the great videos going!
Can Craig start a go fund me and we crowd fund a f&f1 style movie? With all the camera technology available today like go pro’s etc… and the reach of social media surely something decent could be made & released on this channel for not silly money?
I saw the up close cars from fate of the furious when I was working back in Cleveland
Mr. Lieberman, you've definitely read the script, and i got a question, that drives me for about ten years or more: Some people say, that Johnny and Lance are chinese, probably because of the Chinatown scene. Some say that, they're vietnamese, because Lance is somehow has a last name Nguyen (but in the credits, he's just Lance). So, the question is, what's the nation of these guys? Did they have last names in the script?
😂🤣the script probably said squinty eyes and yellow man
hey brotha, vietnamese californian here. That scrne wasnt actually “chinatown”. The TK food plaza (literally half a mile from me) is actually a vietnamese area here in Westminster California. He’d be Vietnamese 😁. And Tran is definitely a commin viet last name btw. Hope that helps 👍
oh and in that era of california imports, this whole lore, hella vietnamese guys man hahahahha.
you want the real mindfuck? For Brian and Toretto to have gone that far:it shouldve been 30-50 minutes
@@tommykhong6148 that really makes sense
Will be interesting a video when you work on Herbie Fully Loaded.
I thought there was a company building replica eclipse’s as well. Thought I saw something.
I saw one leave the Bayonne docks in New Jersey bound for Europe. It was a 383 with no air cleaner. The fake blower was bilted to the hood from underneath. A rear-steer Herbie car was there as well as a 67 Mustang with "00" on the doors (from the 2005 Dukes of Hazzard movie).
What about the one sam hard got from the fast live show ? Love the channel.
I believe Sam Hard still has one of the FF chargers over in the UK at Hard up Garage?
Just a fun bit of nerd. The lego Dom's charger mixes some up with later Fast and Furious Chargers (F&F3 iirc). But it has the same wheelie mechanism like what the stunt car uses.
Someone said, you can't do a wheelie and a burnout at the same time. I guess its all a matter of how much you're willing to mod the car to make it happen.
Exactly! Anything is doable with enough imagination
💪🏻🙌🏻💯💯
The Charger engine you show is a 64 or later 426 variant. The 392 would have had the distributor in the rear of the engine. So, you still aint got it right.
apparently he doesn't know his classic v8s
Did the movie cars ever have a VIN or some other sort of serial number that would help identify them from the replicas?
Oh yes
Almost got scammed by a seller for a 68 Charger on Facebook here in Tasmania , Australia for my Boss and he found that it was all a big scam going into the persons profile .
Nissan silvia S14 from fast 4 was it from scramble car in 2f2f?
5:30 that is why these videos are the best,
a gear head talking to other gear heads
if you don’t know what it is, do your research!
I am really surprised you were a Shirt from a tiny german car crew
At first i couldn‘t believe until i checked the textstyle
I have to disagree with you Craig, I’ve inspected Universals Charger very closely and it’s the same one that was in display on the park for so many years, however now with blacked out chrome and different wheels. The reason I know it’s the same, is that when Dennis McCarthy repainted it, he never touched the grill, so the peeling looks the exact same as the original one on display. Volo may have bought a hero charger, but it wasn’t Universals.
i got up close and personal with universals charger. looks like the real deal.
@@Trojanmangaming it is for sure. It’s in storage right now while they prep the 60th anniversary for the studio tour but it’s coming back and will be in a display with a Supra where you can take pics with it.
Yes someone I know sended me pictures of the car, he made in 2002, and some he made in 2018, same rust spots at the bumper in the back, and the grill hase the same chiped paint, the car just got a Fast 7 make over, Volo museum is just overhyping there replica cars !
@@grievoustheboss yep
Just saw the charger and supreme being towed yesterday near The 134 freeway around socal
That Ford Econoline Buck car was older than dirt when F&F was made!
I wanna know where the gmc general went from Smokey 2
I knew I recognize that dam charger when I watched the herbie movie
The first charger is the best one
Also the Charger that does the clip appears in Herbie Fully Loaded in the beginning when Lindsey Lohan is looking for a car in the junkyard. Had it been me, I would’ve picked the Charger over a Beetle but that’s not the point of that movie lol
I seriously hope volo doesn't sell the charger again and keeps the 2 permanently 😊together!!!
Great times back in 2001
I was young when i see the first movie. At that time, all seamed real 😂 i have to see it again ( after i dont know how many times i saw it) its been a while.
Can you tell me if there is a possibility that they will have Sean Boswell drive it until the end of the main saga
😂 the psychological trauma of the loss of the fast saga cars.....
Hey Craig, something's wrong with your microphone in the last few videos. Always hear some minor crackling sounds. Good video otherwise.
Sorry about that. Ill work on that.
I wonder if the charger at universal studios Hollywood that sits outside the studio tour ride and promos is real? I noticed it had a blacked out original grill (which is wrong) wish I could buy that car.
This is because it's still the same car that was on display back in 2001 after the movie, it just got a Fast 7 makeover, Volo never purchased that car
@@grievoustheboss oh wow! That’s cool to know. Hopefully someday I can get my hands on it.
@@ethanvlaskampracing9603 I think allot of people would love to get that car, and give it back his former glory
I would love to see a video about your work on the Herbie movie, after your Fast and furious videos 😃
The maximus charger is a total of 1 foot wider than a original 1968 charger and built by tom nelson of nelson racing engines here in California its a twin turbo 2000 hp beast i have seen it in temple city California once but never again after that
Is that how the chevelle in fast 4 did the wheelie aswell ?
Could you do a video on doms chevelle from fast 4?
Oh how I looked forward to seeing which nice Charger was going to be destroyed each movie
Holy moly Maistro!!! And I 🤔 thought they all did tremendous wheelies on non prepped tracks with tremendous power!!! 😂 , their just movies 😆
Nice @tofugarage shirt! German JDM specialists 👌🏼
You should make a video of the white Supra at the end of the movie was that really Paul walker’s personal car???
Yea
I wonder if 'Brians' Ford Escort would command some money? it's note worthy was used in the promotions it's unique in the American market I would think?
Ok Craig, how about the car that give the sound of it? What car was? Its a big block naturally aspirated you don't hear the supercharger whine, this is the biggest mystery
There's a green eclipse for sale in Lewisville Texas for 47,998, I want it badly
Those cars going everywhere... Didn't know that ❤
