I was working on the set of Netforce and met Judge Reinhold I told him Ruthless people was my favorite movie that he did he was really nice and Down to earth Scott Bakula was also in the movie and he had his family on set I spoke with him at craft services he is another very nice approachable actor
I never heard of Netforce. I thought Scott was great in the Original Quantum Leap and he was pretty good in the Star TRek Prequel Series0 Enterprise. Too bad Enterprise lasted only 4 Seasons. The Remake of Quantum Leap was horrible. Puttting in a Trans Character was definitely not a good idea.

It reminded me of classic match-ups like Norris versus Brian Libby or Arnold vs the Predator. It's a real shame that we just do not get any kind of movies like that anymore.
What was the name for Stallone? Axel Cobretti or something? Weird train chase sequence at the end? Just all sorts of wild stuff. Murphy deserved a screenwriting Oscar just for how much of the script was built from this improvisation. And that 'SuperCop' story of making Ashton break character cause of how funny it was and Reinhold having to pinch his inner thigh to prevent from laughing - the making of Cop 1 deserves a documentary.

Also, listening to Brian Thompson talk about the sequences that Sly directed for the movie (he was basically pulling triple duty as director, cinmetographer, and actor -- I had no idea Stallone was the one who blocked and staged the shot for Thompson doing his infamous "pig" sequence at the end) you really learn just how creative Sly was behind the scenes in making certain movies and sequences as iconic as they were.
I like Judge, he seems like a very pleasant down to earth guy. Glad to see the 3 of them back! Pensioner cops! Shows you that you’re never too old!! Don’t have to sit and slump on the sofa at a certain age.

Years ago I picked up a DVD of "Black Cobra: same movie as Cobra but with Fred Williamson instead of Stallone, funny hearing now they used Cobra to move Sly from Beverly Hills Cop

Btw, back before they did 3, I had an idea to take Taggart and Rosemont to Detroit and be fishes out of water in Axel’s hood, thereby letting Axel play in his element. I remember when Cobra came out. A friend and I would refer to it as 'Stallone Cobra' because that's how it was advertised. We were too young to see it, too. It came television and all the action scenes seem reminiscent of Terminator. Even the part with the truck at the end. Maybe I'm wrong.
Definitely some elements of Terminator in there, but it was also its own beast. The car chases in that film were super awesome, definitely had its own vibe.

Stallone has done some spectaculary amazing things. But one thing he almost f***ed up was Beverly Hills Cop by wanting to push it in a action and violence direction. The other thing he DEFINITELY f***ed up was Judge Dredd. He decided to make it... cuter... funnier... I had never (and still haven't) read any Judge Dredd comics, but I knew.... I KNEW... THIS! IS! NOT! JUDGE! DREDD! Judge Dredd is gritted teeth, busted teeth, blood, gore, profanities, no-mercy, relentless etc. etc.
Although i do agree, at some level Stallone was onto something. Look how marvel did theirs.. but it was not the right choice for Dredd. We did eventually get a great movie.

If Beverly Hills Cop was gonna be an action movie, why would the producers think of Eddie Murphy as a good replacement for THE action star at the time? It's been reported that BHC was originally a comedy, Sly's first attempt. However, after he rewrote the script to be more action-heavy, the studio and he parted ways. Hence,.comedy = Murphy. The mention of Katzenberg bringing Cobra to Stallone's attention is unlikely since it was a Warner Bros property. After Sly parted with Paramount, he took his version of the script and turned into Cobra.

Stallone has done some spectaculary amazing things. But one thing he almost f***ed up was Beverly Hills Cop by wanting to push it in a action and violence direction. The other thing he DEFINITELY f***ed up was Judge Dredd. He decided to make it... cuter... funnier...
I had never (and still haven't) read any Judge Dredd comics, but I knew.... I KNEW... THIS! IS! NOT! JUDGE! DREDD!
Judge Dredd is gritted teeth, busted teeth, blood, gore, profanities, no-mercy, relentless etc. etc.
Although i do agree, at some level Stallone was onto something. Look how marvel did theirs.. but it was not the right choice for Dredd. We did eventually get a great movie.

Sly version would start off in Pittsburgh PA not Detriot. The producers did Flashdance in 1983 & wanted to return to PA since the film work went smooth. Sly would of played a cop with a stolen high tech pistol.

Stallone did a re-write but the execs, producers said: noooo. That story, script 📒 became Cobra 1986.

Stallone was suppose to be in Beverly Hills Cops! Murphy was suppose to be in Ghostbusters along with John Bellushi as Bill Murray's character! Stallone's BHC became Cobra! George Michael was suppose to be in Beverly Hills Cops 2 as Eddie's partner! George Michael was also suppose to join Prince with Michael Jackson for soundtrack to Batman 89!

I think it would have been an interesting Movie with Sly Stallone instead of Eddie Murphy. I think they would have changed the Movie to the Protagonist being from New York instead of Detroit. Without being called Racist- I thought it was a little unbelievable that he knew all these White Characters including this pretty Girl who were now living in Beverly Hills. I thought it would have been more believable if Sly Stallone was the guy they knew.
I think it would still have been a good Movie- maybe even great if they kept Sly.

What?? I'm not calling Judge a liar but people tend to remember things differently. He may not have been privileged to the studio drama directly but maybe got facts second-hand/ hearsay.
If Beverly Hills Cop was gonna be an action movie, why would the producers think of Eddie Murphy as a good replacement for THE action star at the time?
It's been reported that BHC was originally a comedy, Sly's first attempt. However, after he rewrote the script to be more action-heavy, the studio and he parted ways. Hence,.comedy = Murphy.
The mention of Katzenberg bringing Cobra to Stallone's attention is unlikely since it was a Warner Bros property. After Sly parted with Paramount, he took his version of the script and turned into Cobra.
