And you should try the Aiways U5 Premium ;) That one has leather interior, electric trunk, panoramic roof (biggest one in the range) , front parking sensors, automatic parking and so on ;)
Nee, natuurlijk kan je op 9:10 je goede zitpositie niet vinden. Je gaat steeds verder liggen.. Je moet juist actief rechterop gaan zitten. dan zie je ook meer in het verkeer ;)
Thanks for the video, very ilustrative. I was wondering where you rented the car from. I want to buy an EV like the U5 but I would love to test drive it for a couple of days and dealerships don’t have cars to lend you or to even test drive them.
Glove compartments have gradually given way to airbags in many cars, also many cars produced outside Asia. Who needs a glove compartment? We don't drive with gloves anymore, you don't need it for road maps because you have GPS. You often see in American movies that they use the closed space for guns, but it is only in the US that people "have to" carry weapons :)
@@Kerleem your gloves will survive in the other build in pockets. it is to point out that it is not a chinese thing: i've seen it in french and japanese cars for more than a decade
I know the US has quite strict laws about dealerships having to be available near people who buy the cars, Tesla ran up against some of those rules, so maybe that is what holding the Chinese car brands back in the US and Canadian market?
Definitely. A dealership network is essential in the US and is part of the reason many brands shy away from that market. The irony is the dealership requirements that were originallly meant to protect consumers are now being used against them (inflated pricing).
I think the main difficulty of Chinese companies entering the US market is US-China tensions and disgust with the CCP that probably maintains control of a lot of these companies. This probably plays into what you suggested about having difficulty opening US dealerships. For many Americans, including myself, it's a cyber security threat.
Just buy a Volvo, more or less the same car but will keep their value a lot better, especially if they give up in a few years and you can't get any specific parts anymore.

The problem is that Aiways sold 11 cars in 2021 in the Netherlands, good luck finding parts if anything breaks, good chance that Always is not active in the European market anymore. Just like the dozens of other Chinese manufacturers that tried to penetrate the European market in the past few decades.
Not a fan of SUVs, so not liking this too. The front looks weird, maybe even wrong. And a permanent screen for TPMS, seems to make no sense at all. And this being an Asian car it doesn't have taillights as part of DRL. I still don't understand why not, it makes no sense!
I still have the problem of charging cables that don't come out when I want to finish a charge... does anyone know the solution other than removing the plastics? (which I haven't tried yet), is that the key I've already tried, but I hear the click, but it's still stuck...
You have to press the car lock and tailgate open buttons at the same time for 8 seconds - so the top and middle buttons on the key. You will then hear the cable unlock on the car and you can take it out before it's fully charged.
Let me know what you think below!
No glove compartment means more legroom for front seat passengers.
@@gilyashar yes but no neat, secure storage option for important documents and the owners manual

Are you in the Netherlands? I used a car sharing service from Sixt available here in Amsterdam and a few other Dutch cities
I think the Chinese brands should work on their emblems instead of spelling it out out on the back of the cars.
Great video as always. When is the Crown Vic video coming, pretty excited about that one?
Soon…sometime next month 😊

Range and efficiency is poor in this one.
Another youtuber did a 130km/h (80mph) highway test and got 170km (105 miles)on a full charge.
Yikes. But at 130km/h most EVs range sucks. They’re meant to go 100 km/h 👎🏽👎🏽
The important thing one can't check is the safety.
True but it was tested by Euro NCAP....see here www.euroncap.com/en/results/aiways/u5/39672

Not sure. Did you try hitting the unlock button inside the car? In some cars, that releases the cable

I hate SUVs, i like vans.
As to the quality, is it better than US cars?
It’s probably on par with recent the American brands (Chevy, Ford, Chrysler) to be honest
