Makes me want to go to the junkyard, pull a couple of them, refinish them, and resell them. You make it look EASY, and I know my finished product wouldn’t turn out as good
I’ve done a couple. For some reason wasn’t happy with the footage I got so haven’t posted one yet. I will get one up soon. I miss doing them videos. Thanks for commenting and watching.
Great rebuild, I could never do. They're not hard to find,,,, they are Unicorns. 2 97 powerstrokes all cracked. All this hitech and they can't make it better? Expanded foam will keep expanding. I'm waiting. I just look the other way n turn up Merl Haggard.
Thanks. Haha. Yea my issue in Texas is my main dash is cracking now. This has held up great though. Thanks for watching and commenting! Keep that haggard cranking!
Did the pad crack anymore under the new vinyl cover and show through? I am wondering if I should put a thin layer of ridged plastic to cover future cracks. I am about to start my dash pad on my 1997 F350, 340,000 miles. Thanks
It has been since video was made in the Texas sun and it looks as good today as the day I put it in. Now being in Texas I don’t get the cold which may do something different. Would love to see your truck. Always a fan of another obs.
Thanks. As long as you are gonna hide the hard corners where radio going I would do this way. Other wise I would stitch a corner in. Thanks for watching
So I did that at my friends upholstery shop. He has like 100 rolls of gray and just matched it up with what he had. I would get you the number but I have no clue witch one it was now. Thanks for watching.
Thanks, it was a 3m contact glue that they buy by the five gallon pail. It really does a good job. Working on the paint now. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I don’t remember the brand I used. I went through the vinyls and picked the best match of what we had in stock. Most upholstery places would sell you material and have a decent assortment.
There is some out at Benny’s yard in west Texas. Email me at ghaack78@gmail and I’ll get you in contact with him. Thanks for that. I loose more subscribers when post on ford and 8n. As always thanks for commenting and watching
So, I was at my buddies upholstery shop and there staples guns are air powered and pretty powerful. I think they where 3/8 staples I used. Sorry I don’t have more info. Thanks for watching and hope you are as happy as I was.
When are we going to see you out on the open road with the cab over? I don’t mind craftime with Gary but I’m waiting to see the ole girl out on the open road 🤠
Haha, I been working some and did some filming but wasn’t happy with what I got. I will work on getting some up this week of the old girl working. Thanks as always for watching and commenting.
One more step to a nice truck working for you. I read that comment about how you lose subscribers when you post vids with the tractor and the OBS. I lose subscribers with nearly every video I post. We'll never know what makes people jump ship. Just keep doing your thing. You'll get Ford guys in replacement for those that left. Oh, and those poor glasses! Yikes!
Yea. I always thought people would skip then videos they didn’t want to see but I dunno. I’m just doing what I want. Lol. I love your videos. Yea, the glasses. That sucked. Lol.
That truck is looking good my friend I forgot to tell you I have a small TH-cam channel it ain’t very big it is Glenn Hunter look for the American flag in the Circle go check it out please how is The cab over doing I hope good be safe my friend
Thanks. Very happy with how it is coming out. I will defiantly go check your channel out. Thanks for the heads up on that. Cab over is doing good. I have done a couple runs in it but was not happy with any of the footage. Thanks as always for commenting and watching
That looks awesome. I'm inspired.
It has held up well. I encourage you to give it a shot
Hope this helps you guys. I know these dash pads are like gold on line.
Crazy like 300-500 dollars! I'm like nah ill bondo and sand n spray paint lol
Makes me want to go to the junkyard, pull a couple of them, refinish them, and resell them. You make it look EASY, and I know my finished product wouldn’t turn out as good
You have come up with a splendid result doing the sort of job I would happily ignore!! What is more, I think you enjoy doing them. Kudos!!
Thanks. I really do enjoy this stuff. I like things to be refreashed. Thanks for watching and commenting
Good solution. Those covers are expensive !
Thanks. It been a year and holding up great. Now rest of dash is starting to crack on me though. 🫣
Love that your bringing that ford back to stock!💗
Me too! I am pretty happy with how it is coming. I need to do a update video Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thanks. It’s holding up perfect as well
you know whats better than watching this one computer, watching it one 3 at the same time 😑
Haha. I agree
Nice work
Thanks! Really happy how it came out.
That was like wrestling alligators, but the finished product looked pretty good. Hope you have the cab over back on the road. Thanks and take care.
Haha yea it was. I am very happy with how it came out. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Looks real good.. Any Ford emblems around that would cover that little bump in the vinyl? Thanks for posting
Thankyou! That’s a good ideal. Like one from a steering wheel would look nice there. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Did the pad crack anymore under the new vinyl cover and show through? I am wondering if I should put a thin layer of ridged plastic to cover future cracks. I am about to start my dash pad on my 1997 F350, 340,000 miles. Thanks

The repair didn't make the trim too big?
No, it worked. The radio bezel was little hard to clip on but still did.
Cool project. I have one to do. Any other tips?
Thanks. As long as you are gonna hide the hard corners where radio going I would do this way. Other wise I would stitch a corner in. Thanks for watching
@@cabovergary ok I will give ‘er a shot. Thank you!
Good video. Where did you get the matching vinyl?
So my buddy upholstery shop just happened to have a matching one. Unfortunately don’t know a color code. Thanks for watching
Looks great and the vinyl looks like a good color match. Where did you buy the vinyl?
So I did that at my friends upholstery shop. He has like 100 rolls of gray and just matched it up with what he had. I would get you the number but I have no clue witch one it was now. Thanks for watching.
@@cabovergary sounds like I need to get to know the folks at my local shop.
Awesome job. What glue did you use ?
Thanks, it was a 3m contact glue that they buy by the five gallon pail. It really does a good job. Working on the paint now. Thanks for watching and commenting.
What type of vinyl did you use? I have the same issue with mine, but mine is maroon color.
I don’t remember the brand I used. I went through the vinyls and picked the best match of what we had in stock. Most upholstery places would sell you material and have a decent assortment.
what kind of roller was that
I don’t believe I used a roller.
Did u pull the old vynal off or just go over the top
Went over it. I filled the cracks. It still looks great today. Thanks for watching
Random question for ya Gary , do you know of any salvage yards in Texas that have FLA cabovers sitting in them? Also as usual enjoy all your videos !
There is some out at Benny’s yard in west Texas. Email me at ghaack78@gmail and I’ll get you in contact with him. Thanks for that. I loose more subscribers when post on ford and 8n. As always thanks for commenting and watching
Okay thank you I'll give you an email
I was thinking about wrapping mine today, are you shooting staples into the metal? What kind of staples and gun?
So, I was at my buddies upholstery shop and there staples guns are air powered and pretty powerful. I think they where 3/8 staples I used. Sorry I don’t have more info. Thanks for watching and hope you are as happy as I was.

I wouldn't have tackled mine without this finding your video. Thank you! Perfect
Makes me happy to hear this. One of the main reason I do these videos.
