You need to heat the ends wth hot water or a hair dryer first. And you can add some dish soap as lubricant as some people do with hard to mount bicycle tires.

This is why people just buy new hoses. The connectors that require hose clamps just break and leak again because the material gets weakened. The entire RV industry make low end expensive crap.
