Can't tell you how happy I am right now cuz I was waiting for it to launch thinking it won't happen, i wanted one for my slim variant as it only came for fat one making it a lot bulky
With these G-Story monitors I always go back to the most practical use case for something like this. The PS Portal wasn't really designed to be an on the go device, more like an around the house device, so I don't really drag it as being less useful when you are out of the house and off your home network. But I have a hard time looking at something like this as being a better on the go option. You don't need to be on internet or wifi, but just having to carry that thing around, even the slimmer version, and then trying to find somewhere that you can set it up and have two outlets available to plug both the console and the screen up to, just doesn't seem like a practical option when you think on the go. Something like this seems practical to me if maybe you are trying to set up a tournament where you don't want to lug a big tv around, or if you are in a small space like a dorm where you don't have much room to set up a big screen, or a really small apartment. Or if you are maybe on a boat or at some outpost that you might have to spend a bunch of time at with alot of down time. If I'm on a flight or a bus or train ride, or if I'm at the car dealership getting some work done or waiting at the DMV, or at my kids football practice, like when I'm really on the go, I don't see myself wanting to take something like this with me. Something like the form factor of a Nintendo Switch would be way more practical and convenient. This is more of an easier than carrying around a big screen option. If I was going to a Superbowl part and I knew the person hosting it only had 1 tv in their house and didn't have a PS5, I would take this and we could set it up and have a Madden Tournament on the side and it wouldn't get in the way of anything. I also wonder with this going on top of the fan, is it good for the ventilation?
You're correct about the PS Portal not being meant for mobile gaming. But some do think so. Just yesterday I watched a video from a well known TH-camr titled "What's Really in my Travel Backpack". And guess what? The one and only handheld console he says he "Travels with" was the PS Portal. Lol.
@@Marcthegeek whats funny is now the portal may actually become a legit mobile gaming system, seen on the news this morning a couple Google guys hacked the Portal and got a PSP emulator running on it lol.
Considering buying this monitor, but what was the controller monitor in the beginning of the video and is that a better option than the bigger console monitor????
Now they need to make a 1440 p 120 hrz and someone need to invent a mount so I can lay in my bed and swing it to me or away without having to unplug everything and physically move it
What were the issues that you had when you first tried to start? I think I am experiencing the same. I am trying to turn on but screen is not doing anything. Little green light blinking. Do you know the remedy to fix this?
I am having the same trouble. I just purchased it , got it to work once and then the next time nothing. Can't get the "on" light or anything to work. Thought it was the machine so I exchanged, but nope happened to this one too. Any ideas on a fix?
This model doesn’t have 120. The og had a 120 model. I had that one with the og ps5. Bummed cause I got the slim and wanted to get this too but only 60hz
Yes a third party horizontal stand which is way more sturdy than the little 2 plastic pieces it comes with, I would wonder if one will fit while this monitor if put one
I wouldn’t take my PS5 outside my house have it stolen it’s a five hundred dollars console maybe the PS1 I’ll take outside I don’t even take my labtop pc outside these should stay home besides 8K TVs are the best these days I love how tekken 8 looks on my PC thanks to the 4090 graphics card
This is not the vita 2 I wanted 😂
Hopefully coming in the future based on rumors.
I just ordered one thank you Mark for this video.

Damn the color looks almost oled in quality.
what's cool marc is how you had the switch connected to the ps5 monitor👍
Yes. You can basically connect anything with an HDMI video output
@@MarcthegeekI'm not gonna lie that would actually be great to take on trips especially if you use your switch or ps5
can you use the bigger 15" monitor on the PS5 slim?
Thanks so it s 4k 60hz and 1080 120hz ?
Can the regular gstory for the phat ps5 work on the slim model?
Does it have to be plugged in at all times to use

I didn't know there's one for the slim, it's fantastic. Mine is an original standard edition and I'd like to have one.
Can you flip the picture and mount it upside down?
Bro is g story need a home electric or there is self battery inside monitor??
No it’s electric
What you mean batteries not included lol, I bought one for my Xbox series and it came with batteries.

nah stick to this monitor
how u got the game Banishers ?
Video coming a couple days before official release.

I just spend 2,500 on a ecoflow battery station I'ma be camping with the ps5
How did u change the settings to the monitor to 120hz ? Mine is defaulted at 60hz

what about the overheating? does it not effect the console.
and also this is a good deal for a 4k60fps screen.
Heat is no issue. It is just like connecting the PS5 to an external monitor. This is not blocking heat sinks or anything like that.
prefer the x box screen better this has too many wires
power cord and thats it
Bro, can share link? I cant find where to buy..
Here's the link amzn.to/4bmTyvZ
@@Marcthegeek Thanks..cheers mate!
Will a horizontal stand work with it ??
Horizontal? Like you see on video I use the cheap stands for horizontal mode.
Yes a third party horizontal stand which is way more sturdy than the little 2 plastic pieces it comes with, I would wonder if one will fit while this monitor if put one
I believe it should work cause the stand would be on the bottom part of the system. The screen is on the top portion of the system.
@@Marcthegeektill then it will be the ultimate ps5 portable 😂
Dude, does this work without charging? Is there a battery?
I just received mines today and you have to have it plugged into an outlet next to the ps5 but it’s still worth it 10/10
@@MiguelGarcia-or5ic are any overheating issues ?

Overheating Pro Max
Wow
I rather move around with a Nintendo Switch.
Unfortunately it's overpriced 350$ on Amazon
