Fair Play wheeler’s 🚴🏻♂️🚴♀️😎 Bostin ride across the boarder 😂 Adam Watkins Home turf whatch out for them piles of dirt 😂 A lot of your rides are on my to do list Lovin the Yee Haa 👍👍👍n the local art 👍
Yep glad you got rain coat there’s a storm brewing for Thursday or Friday. I’m Heading to Kidwelly Saturday with Owen for a sedate ride along the cycle route towards Llanelli hope it stays dry for you both it’s been very dry and hot for the last week.
Croeso Y Cymru, glad you made it safely. Hope you ride further west as the scenery gets much better however, I'll be shocked if you rode north up through the Valleys to Brecon Beacons although the Monmouthshire Canal is the easiest way. I'll just have to wait for your next episode. Da iawn!
Hello to The Wheelers! Really enjoying your videos! Lots of familiar sights. Have you ever caught the chain ferry over to Studland and cycled to Corfe? Nice off road trail with bakery at the end. Not many tunnels for YeeHaa-ing though so maybe not worth it 😉 Thanks for sharing, top stuff.
Hi Jo and thanks for the comment 👍 Yes, we use the chain ferry and ride on and off road through the Purbecks. I particularly enjoy riding in the Purbecks as my eardrums don't get assaulted by Julie's "YEEHAA!" quite as often 😂😂👍
That really did look like a fun ride. Nice weather too. Mikes positive outlook on everything makes me smile every time. No border guards? (Just kidding.)
Until recently there was a toll to drive across the bridge into Wales but it was free to get out 😂👍 I just looked it up, the tolls were removed in 2018.
Another great ride. Mike, what is the handlebar bag you're using on this ride? I'm getting a new Trek Checkpoint SL5 next month, and am looking for a bar bag.
Thanks John. That's a 'no brand' bag I picked up cheap from a local supermarket, a one off deal. I would say it's similar in size to the Podsac Handlebar bag by PlanetX. Plenty of room for a couple of days worth of clothes and a down jacket. Enjoy your new bike👍
That looked like an adventure! I’ve often though about riding from home to Cardiff, but the route around/through Bristol always puts me off as it’s so awful in places. Has this given you the bug for a longer multi day adventure?
If you came up through the tunnels and along the trail to Bristol city centre getting out the other side isn't bad at all. The route closure with the lorries was about a mile. Newport is the bit to miss if you can and just think of all those hills you can ride to the north getting around it 😁
@@WheelersAtLarge Komoot tries to route me along the Avonmouth bridge and I’m not sure if it’s over or under the M5. That section they’ve closed seems a bit daft and unnecessary, as I haven’t seen a closure yet, that you couldn’t get by on a bike or by walking. Not sure what they were thinking!!
@@WheelersAtLarge Deb and I are planning another Tandem adventure in September and heading along the Kennet and Avon all the way to Reading and back through the North Wessex Downs. It is a nice way to spend a holiday sauntering along. Where are you planning on going next?
Thanks for the comment Mark. Yeah, as much my fault as we wanted to go via the Severn Beach junction so started following the signs which caused the Wahoo to re-route constantly.👍
That was great! Lovely blue skies. Interesting route, although those big lorries roaring past looked scary.
Yes that 50 mph road was a little on the scary side! 😳But we did survive to tell another tale! 😉
Thanks for the ride into my Cousin Hugh’s current city. Hugh is a walker and fitness trainer. Lives above the harbour.
Happy to oblige David, 😉😅we did have fun in Wales! 😉😎🌞👌🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️
Great ride Mike and Julie very well done, nice scenery along the way also a few busy roads which could be a bit unnerving. Enjoy your week.
Shame they closed that cycle route to put us on that dual carriageway but it was only for about a mile thank goodness! 😳😉 Cheers Terry!
Looks like an amazing journey. Really enjoyable M&J. You picked amazing weather too. See you soon on the next one
We were so lucky with the weather 🍀👍🌞 couldn't have planned it better! 👌☀️🌞😎🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️

I was in my element in that tunnel Peter! 😂😉👍
Watch out for gout! 🤣😂😅

Aw, I'm hoping the good weather stays with us for a little bit longer!🌞 🤞 Fingers crossed it stays good for your ride too Michelle! 🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️
Your really getting very professional filming your journeys on your bikes ,really absorbing to watch ,much better than the Tour de France 👏👏👏
Thank you Peter... It was a good trip for us, glad you enjoyed watching 👍
Fantastic vlog 👍🚴♂️🚴♂️
Cheers Chris...
Great video, I live in Bristol and it was painful watching the various wrong turns Komoot/signs sent you on! 😅 Hope you had a good day. 🙏
We did have a good trip thanks... I think we need to turn Re-routing off on the Wahoo in towns and cities and just keep it simple 👍

Thanks 👍 This was a tester ride for future trips so we rode back the next day via Caerphilly. We will explore further next time.
That was great to watch. I never get chance with family commitments to.do a ride like this, so I'll watch you guys instead 🙂
Yeah this was a test ride for us and it went well. I can see us doing more of this type of thing in the future. Thanks for watching 👍

As a former University of Bristol student, and also a tcr owner, haven’t ridden my tcr in Bristol is such a pity 😢
Bristol seemed to be bike friendly, some good quiet roads to get around the city... 👍
I enjoyed that 😂
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
I did the reverse ride this New Year. Sadly the weather was the opposite end of the spectrum!! #alwaysrainsinwales
Haha, I'm sure the Welsh weather is more unpredictable than this side of the bridge. Crossing the bridge is always fun. Cheers for watching 👍

Yes we will be doing more of this in the future but better now that we've had some practice. Hopefully 😁

@@DarrenPhillips that does sound good... Not sure yet but bridges might be involved👍
Does Wales have better weather usually? Nice ride as usual 👍
Wales can be wet as it's on the west side of the UK but has a lot of high ground and mountains so good views and landscape too...
I’m surprised it’s seemed abit hilly ride
Wales is a hilly place, fortunately not too many on this ride...👍
Wheelers at Large yn mynd yn Rhyngwladol!
Reid da chi'ch dau! (Google translate to the rescue... kind of...)
Truly an international channel this year, the IOW and now Wales possibly the Isle of Portland this weekend...😂😂👍
Have to say, Komoot took you on a ridiculously long way around

welcome to gods country :D
Thanks 👍hope to get back for some more Welsh adventures soon...👍
