Even though the update months ago the lagging in battle is punishing 5 seconds or more between you select a card and the action of this card (atack cards especially) such a shame this excellent game has this flaw, please update the game 😅
It's fun but it feels like it sets you up for failure so you are forced to spend points and build through that talent tree. Still fun, but Monster Train remains my favorite.
But those 2 are shovel ware and can be played on 1 joy con not worth full price of 30$ I got gordian quest for like 3$and it's very much like sts only better but not as well balanced so it's even more mindless I don't need think at all to win it made me get bored of sts combat. . U want a real amazing card game thank me later go try inscryption! Now that is on game pass RN and should still be on sale I got it real cheap the more I say about it the more I spoil the less u know the better it's the best card game I played since Yu-Gi-Oh and hearthstone! But somehow was better than both and made me realize I need a real fun story in these kinda games lol
Viable builds, especially before you grind a massive amount for meta progression, are super narrow. You have to break the game to "beat" it early on, and for every 10 choices the game gives you (for cards, gems, relics, etc,) 9 will be objectively wrong. The game gives a lot of illusion of freedom and customization, where only a few combos for each hero will make it past act 2. On top of this some enemies and bosses, which are random, will 100% brick some of the already few viable builds that exist. It's just not well thought out, and the devs/diehard fans of the game have themselves convinced the balance is 99% perfect/finished. Stick to StS or Monster train if you like having to push the same 2-3 decks through every run.
It's much better than Slay the Spire. The latter's music and animation are horrible. Roguebook, takes the best part of Slay the Spire and builds upon them in a great way.

Monster train is way too repetitive and easy imo
After slay the spire this felt INCREDIBLY easy and forgiving 😅 but still a satisfying experience, ill have to check out monster train
