I visited a cafe with a relative recently to have breakfast, which I know isn't anything for most people but it was a huge thing for me. Your videos really helped me for reasons that would take quiet a while to list! I guess for 99.9% of people it makes no sense why, but trust me all, it really has helped and continues to. Gary, It makes a big difference in quality and efficency when a restaurant is run by a hands on family. Paolo is in that category. Next time we go to the UK ,we will make our way to Acton. Well worth the trip. The pouched eggs and sausages are to die for. What a savory video. Well Done! 👍👍 Jim and Harriet
It has been many, many years since I tasted bubble. It was a staple every Monday growing up. Which was also wash day. Happy days turning the handle on Mother's ancient mangle to wring the clothes. Talk about an appetite. That machine was guaranteed to give you one. This was a superb breakfast, the pity being I am three thousand miles away. Great review, Gary.
This is one of your greatest video's yet Gary - no wonder your subscriber base is growing at the rate it is - your enthusiasm and passion is absolutely infectious and mouth watering. Your video's really helped me to get to a point where I was eating again after a nasty spell in hospital and hadn't eaten for a long time. So I thank you for that. Poached eggs have to be runny - no ifs or buts. It is a de-facto law of the universe. Unlimited tea is worth a lot - I'd need at least two pots to deal with that load of food. First thing I would have done is dip a sausage into the yolk and then a good piece of bacon with half the an placed on top, but we are talking about an eating frenzy rather than a review. And beans - Breakfast beans need to have a healthy splurge of Tabasco; wakes the brain up and helps to bring even the most dreary of Holiday Inn breakfasts to life. I've got a few places I'm visiting over the next few weeks (Milan, Bologna, Munich, Nuremberg, Madrid and Barcelona) so if anything sticks out, I'll let you know. I've also got a few weeks off over Christmas and plan to have a few days in London to try a few places that you have reviewed and liked. Thanks again, Richard
One of the great guys in life gary. Need more people with ure nature in life. Humble, honest and just a good soul. Looking forward to ure next one, let's give it a go. 😊
Excellent, excellent, excellent. Thank you for supporting a small business that provides outstanding, quality food. Without people like you, we may well lose these oases, in a barren wasteland of Franchised Ersatz Food peddlers, such as McDonald's KFC, Subway and their ilk. Cheers fellah.
Excellent, as you say. What a superb breakfast! All the ingredients were of the best quality, and this will mean that these ingredients will be more costly, which will reflect in the bill. I also love the presentation. There is no chance for that breakfast to get cold quickly as it was served in a skillet! Poached eggs should be runny as a rule, of course. They looked delicious. I had no problem with the bill. Money was well spent, I thought. Bravo Paolo. A happy Garry. Thank you very much for returning to Paolo's and for taking us along. Much appreciated.
Your first video here inspired me to pay Cafe Paolo a visit and it was truly excellent. Thankfully I don't live locally, otherwise I would be in there almost every day. The owner and his staff deserve every success because, as you have said, it is clear that they care about providing good food to their customers. It's a tiny little cafe, but the care and quality is an example that other businesses should follow.
First is first; You're absolutely right about poached eggs. They've got to be runny. If the yolk is set, then that is not a poached egg. Re Paolo's Cafe, I must say that it is a fantastic place to have great, wholesome and tasty food. The best of success to the owner/s. Good grub at reasonable price. Can't argue with that! Cheers Gary and thanks for going back there. All the best.
Gary the breakfast looked fit for a King was almost shocked at how gorgeous it looked! Cheif is an artist and you and the camera man make the world a happier place 😊
Gary, THAT brekkie in a sizzling skillet is without doubt the best brekkie I have ever seen, irrespective of price. Your 'starter' of avocado and poached eggs was also incredible. How could anyone follow that level of catering. I know you only give a max of 10, but heck, that was like 15/10 .
The other excellent thing about that avocado toast is that in addition to the perfect cook on the eggs, they were properly drained before assembling the toasts. I very rarely order benedicts anymore because so often the eggs aren't properly drained prior to assembly and the muffins go wet and soggy and atrocious. Paolo knows his stuff and gives his customers his best efforts. Great to see he's keeping it up!
I recommend that you try Haystack Cafe Brynhyfyd Square, Swansea for a breakfast. There is usually a wait, but if you get there at 9.00am or shortly after, you should be okay - get there before 2.45 pm for last orders for food. It is a breakfast cafe. The car park entrance is next to the cafe.
@@JazzFunkNobby1964 Hi, it can vary, it can have fat, grains, milk, flour, leeks, it can contain pork, or beef trimmings, or just fat, oatmeal or barley, it’s mixed together and poached for 35 to 40 mins. You have to keep the fat cold while mixing, cook off the leeks add seasoning and chicken stock. You cook it in hog casing or beef middle. Put in fridge when cool and then slice and fry it off till a bit crispy on the outside, should be soft in the middle, eat for breakfast, you can freeze it to. Hope that helps. 🙂
Enjoy!! You represent your country and the various food dishes, ethnicities in such a lovely way. I also appreciate that you visit places in various price ranges..something for everyone! Always so humble and appreciative.
This lifted my spirit on an otherwise sad day hearing of my teenage hero Paul Di'Anno passing. Thank you Gary for being such a good sport, and up the irons mate!
That breakfast looks outstanding! I never mind paying for quality such as that. I compared this with the earlier review you mentioned. I started watching you when you had about 6000 subscribers and you were good then but looking back you’ve certainly grown in confidence. Well done👏🏻. Oh,poached eggs should be runny- Tis the law! I’ve never been asked how I want my poached eggs cooked-because there’s no need! They are meant to be runny!x
I redone this video because I wasn’t very good at the beginning Margaret and I did not give it the credit it deserved, saying that many people were saying I’m not very good now 😂❤️
Gary, my job is sometimes (not usually thankfully) stressful and when that happens I just put on one of your videos while I work and I find it just relaxes me, I think it’s your calming voice that does it. Thanks!
Poached eggs are runny. You are correct. The only improvement I would like is for the frying pan to be put in the centre of the table and to have 2 plates, then that feast could be shared. It looked fantastic quality and well cooked.
Correct, Gary: Poached eggs are expected to be runny. If you want them hard, you ask for “poached hard.” I like pepper and a couple shots of Tabasco on top of my eggs.
That was a delicious meal Gary. Reminded me of my childhood. Mum would have large pans and put the breakfast in them in the middle of the table to help ourselves to. Always kept piping hot that way. Thanks Gary 😁👍
Wow Gary, I've discovered your channel just a few days ago, and I'm so glad there are only about 200 videos at this point, because I have to watch them all now, haven't I? You're such a likable person, your reviews are delightful to watch, and wow - such interesting restaurants! I've recommended the channel to friends, thank you so much, and please keep it up!😁
I was impressed when you went the first time and I’m still am. Worth every penny and puts Gordon’s to shame!! Poach eggs are always meant to be runny and if you want a harder yolk that’s when you request it, I don’t understand why anyone would request runny eggs it’s an abomination lol. Cafe Paolo is one of my favourite reviews of yours. I’m definitely going to give it try as it’s not too far from me. Thanks Gary for yet another great review and I love your expressions , made me giggle. 😃👍🏻
Apologies Gary, I didn’t watch this yesterday! The chilli is what lifts avocado on toast, that and a lovely runny egg. We had this today, yummy. The breakfast looked amazing, mind it was big enough for both myself and wife. Huge portion. Thanks for sharing with us. You are always a joy to,watch, especially when you get a good one.
Wow Paolo Cafe looks amazing!! The full English breakfast is huge, I doubt I could eat all that. What quality and definitely worth the price. I would 100% give Paolo cafe a go. Another Family owned gem. Enjoyed the review Gary. Looking forward to you spreading your wings and getting outside London. Have a great week..........Cheers.
Yep - the best. We went on your previous recommendation and were totally blown away. I’ve always said this is the place for the best foodand Pelliccis for best atmosphere. I’m still working on no 3 and don’t intend stopping🤣Maggies at Lewisham is on our radar - love a quantity/quality discussion 👍
@@GaryEats thank you for asking kind sir, I had homemade black lentil and habanero pan fried tortillas. They come out very crispy. Delicious. Loved your video as always. 😊
Hi Gary! I remember your first review of Cafe Paolo. Great to see you return & review for a second time. The quality remains very high. The steam coming off the eggs & avocado toast was brilliant. Scores above the same dish in your recent Ramsay review. I remember getting into a "tiff" with someone on that review about poached eggs being runny! 🤣 The presentation of the hot English breakfast looked beautiful. Every item in the pan, perfection. Definitely the place to go for breakfast or brunch if you're in the area. I could tell by your expressions & comments throughout, that this might be teetering on an 11 out of 10. Great review as always Gary & of course, I felt like I was coming along with you for the meal. Til' next time. 💙🌷💙
I’m so pleased you remembered the first one, I’m really pleased that the standard is exactly the same or if not better, when you come over to visit us, I promise you I will take you there, Erin ❤️❤️
@@GaryEats Thanks so much Gary. Regardless of the price point, I think you'd be hard pressed to have a breakfast anywhere else which would top Cafe Paolo. On screen it all looked perfect & your descriptions of the food conveyed what a stand-out this place is. Having an opportunity to meet with you in person, on my next visit to the UK would be an absolute delight! What a treat it would be to share a meal with you both at Cafe Paolo! Something to really look forward too. I will email you when those holiday plans start to take shape in the New Year. Also, I think you have plans I believe?... To head abroad next year for the channel. Please do let me know if Sydney is ever on your itinerary. It would be a joy to take you & your son out for a lovely meal, somewhere around the beautiful Sydney Harbour. 💙🌷💙
Erin, I hope you are keeping well down under and having a wonderful evening. Getting ready for bed soon? LOL - you're like me a night owl pet. . That was a great review Erin, you said it all for me, which is why I just replied to Gary with 'Perfection'. Both meals were superb, though I definitely would go for the English breakfast. The presentation of such and every single item in the frying pan was top quality and what I was really impressed with, was the fact that it was served hot and remained so during the entire meal. A pet hate of mine is food going cold quickly. I thought the price for such was amazing, given London prices. I also could tell by Gary's expressions that it was going to be a top score. He always smiles like a Cheshire cat when he is enjoying the food, he is so demonstrative. Equally we can gauge when it is the opposite. I have to confess, I am exactly the same. My family and friends have a right laugh at me, at my expense, saying they always know when I enjoy a meal or not! What a treat it would be for us all Erin . to see an Aussie who is devoted to Gary's channel, do a collaboration with him trying not only the English breakfast , but other dishes. You have been invited by Gary - and I do hope when you get the time to arrange another trip you take him up on the offer, Whether or not you want to be filmed, is a matter for you. On another note, thank you so much for your film recommendations, I will check them out. Take care Erin and will keep in touch. Lots of love. xxx
@@sharoncox4776 Hi Sharon! You know me too well now... It's approaching 1am & of course I'm not getting ready for bed! 🤣 I'm heading back to Sydney tomorrow afternoon & don't have to be up early in the morning, so that's OK. At some point I'll shock Gary wth a single word comment, but it would just about be impossible for me. Lol. I totally agree with what you said. It really looked like the perfect hot breakfast & at such a good price too. I loved it being served in the frying pan & it's a great way to keep the items hot. Cafe Paolo reminded me of a brilliant cafe that used to be a short walk from where I lived in Glebe, which is a suburb of Sydney close to the CBD. That was before I moved to the US, so around 2010 or so. The cafe was packed all the time & it didn't matter what you ordered, it was always a fantastic meal. My ex-partner & I used to go there regularly. Yes, I think when you've been following the channel for a while, you do get very familiar with Gary's expressions & phrases. He's always good humoured & it gets easier to guess his score I think. It's funny that you have the same tell-tale expressions when you're out for a meal, but it would certainly make things quite fun I think with your family & friends. I'm so eager for a holiday to be honest & to return for a lovely visit to the UK. I'm also desperate to see Ireland, as it's a real bucket list location for me. I still don't really know when that will all be yet. The company I work for are winding down & sending lots of roles offshore, so I'll be looking for a new job in January & then I'll see when I can make some getaway plans. I know how busy Gary & his son are with the channel, along with other personal commitments, but I'd certainly make absolutely sure to take up Gary's offer. I think it would just be so lovely to meet them in person & to share a great meal & a chat. Oh, I'd happily make a brief appearance on camera, but I'd have to make sure I "dolly" myself up a bit for that one! 😅 After our last messages, I thought to myself that I must watch another Catherine Deneuve film, something I haven't seen, when I'm relaxing on the weekend. She's so lovely to watch on screen. If you do get the chance to watch the ones I recommended, I do hope you enjoy them. Take care Sharon & I hope it has been a good week for you so far. I also hope the recent storm you had didn't cause any serious damage or hurt anyone. Thank you so much for your lovely message, I really appreciate it. 💐💜
That looks fabulous. Definitely made with quality ingredients. A full breakfast is on my to-do list when I get over to the UK in a couple of days for a short break. Can't beat home comforts. 🙂
How bizarre, 21st of October is national poorly shoulder day here in Zimbabwe. It's a national holiday that stems from our early founding father beating the odds to defeat his battling demons by banging them hard with his shoulder. On this day we hobble around, clutching our shoulders. Happy Zimbabwe day, Gary! 🇿🇼
Bubble and squeak... Gosh I love it, my grandma used to make the best bubble, because I've always been a vegetarian she would put a fried egg on top... Heaven!!
So great to watch, if we had a lot more people like you Gary the world would be a much better place, god bless you mate and keep doing what you're doing 😊
No greater sight than a lovely fella having time of his life on this TH-cam adventure. I can see the joy and pleasure this brings you in your face every video - thrilled to bits to see it, and very happy for you! Your a great role model too!
Top quality, I know it's October, and you were outside, but I've never eaten or seen a breakfast so hot, enough in that frying pan for two so could easily half the price if I went with my other half, as long as they had Twinnings Earl Grey. Just saw a post from Swansea promoting Haystack, I've never been lucky enough to get in there with my time constraints, need to book a day off but yes Gary I've heard it's up there at the top, give it a go
Hello Gary You're correct poached eggs are runny, I don't like mine runny so will always ask for a firmer egg. I had that pain/throbbing in my left shoulder last week, happily it just went away, wonder what caused it?! I've been past that cafe en route to Acton next time I'm going in for some food I take my pug to work/ everywhere so we can sit outside 😊 Your channel is lovely to watch, food brings folk together in a world where there's such division. That was exactly the same for me, all the leftovers from the Sunday roast, do you know what to do? Let’s give it a go. Cook it yourself.
@GaryEats If only, I am one of those who can burn water, and my wife has banned me from the kitchen until after everything is cooked.
@@5714sqd Its always been know. as bubble and squeak in my East End family.
You said it Gary! ."support a local Business" Good on you ! 🇮🇹🍷🍷
Thank you Silvio
Wow that's a massive compliment, thank you for your wonderful comment and have a good week
Food in Bologna is off the scale amazing! Lucky you.
Желая ви бързо възстановяване. Животът е хубав.
The smile on your face told the story Gary of this breakfast agree 100% with your score ❤
This was fantastic, Andrew
2:35 NO - they should come runny by default. The unusual request would be to ask for them hard. Never met someone with that preference, either.
Well said
Geez Gary, those eggs weren't cooked. 😅😂😅 sorry I had to say that. This kiwi likes her eggs set, not hard but set. Forgive me. ❤
One of the great guys in life gary. Need more people with ure nature in life. Humble, honest and just a good soul. Looking forward to ure next one, let's give it a go. 😊
That is very kind to say thank you very much
Excellent, excellent, excellent. Thank you for supporting a small business that provides outstanding, quality food. Without people like you, we may well lose these oases, in a barren wasteland of Franchised Ersatz Food peddlers, such as McDonald's KFC, Subway and their ilk.
Cheers fellah.
That’s really appreciated Tom
Good evening Gary. Fantastic to see you back on. Looking forward to watching this one. Keep smiling! Cheers and once again thanks Gary. Stephen.
Many thanks Stephen, hope you are doing well
@GaryEats Doing great at the moment thank you.
I think the owner needs recognition as he is doing a fantastic job, he clearly cares about his customer base Sylvia
Great enjoyable reviews Gary and you're right poached eggs must be runny.
Thank you very much, Martin
Your first video here inspired me to pay Cafe Paolo a visit and it was truly excellent. Thankfully I don't live locally, otherwise I would be in there almost every day. The owner and his staff deserve every success because, as you have said, it is clear that they care about providing good food to their customers. It's a tiny little cafe, but the care and quality is an example that other businesses should follow.
That is fantastic to hear and thank you for supporting local business, Andy
That looks incredible, and yes, poached eggs are supposed to be runny
I agree and thank you
First is first; You're absolutely right about poached eggs.
Do you eat there?
@@JazzFunkNobby1964 Certainly!! I do trust what I see on this channel.
Thank you so very much for your excellent comment as always, Mohammad, I really hope you are well and having a great week
@@GaryEats Many thanks my friend, likewise.
Gary the breakfast looked fit for a King was almost shocked at how gorgeous it looked! Cheif is an artist and you and the camera man make the world a happier place 😊
That is very kind to say, Sandra
Gary, THAT brekkie in a sizzling skillet is without doubt the best brekkie I have ever seen, irrespective of price. Your 'starter' of avocado and poached eggs was also incredible. How could anyone follow that level of catering. I know you only give a max of 10, but heck, that was like 15/10 .
Thank you very much for your comment and your score, this was well deserving of a perfect mark
Paolo's really is the best breakfast, Gary! My partner and I eat there sometimes; it's truly amazing!
I totally agree!
He’s doing a fantastic job, Heidi, I was interested to see if the quality was as good as my first visit if anything it was better
No doubt Gary. Now that's what i
call a serious british breakfast.
Well deserved the 10 star to Cafe
Paolo. Good show mate.👍
This was a proper breakfast and well done to the owner
Wow! I was practically dribbling looking at that review! Fantastic!
Thank you very much
I recommend that you try Haystack Cafe Brynhyfyd Square, Swansea for a breakfast. There is usually a wait, but if you get there at 9.00am or shortly after, you should be okay - get there before 2.45 pm for last orders for food. It is a breakfast cafe. The car park entrance is next to the cafe.
I will add that to the list!
Another great video, Gary! Glad I caught it this fast.
Thank you so very much, you're incredibly kind
Loved the look of bliss on your face when you tasted the white pudding!
Nice to see him happy, he deserves it.😊
Do you know what's in white pudding?
@@JazzFunkNobby1964 it varies, but typical ingredients are animal fat, porridge, and some offal (usually liver)
@@JazzFunkNobby1964 Similar to black pudding minus the pig's blood.
My son put me onto your channel Gary. I love watching you and tell my friends. Far more entertaining than tv.❤
That is very kind and really appreciated and please thank your son from me Mandy ❤️🌹
This cafe is at the end of my street. It's great 💯👏🏽

How do you manage not to eat there every day? It must be so tempting…😮
I'd weigh 50 stone.
Enjoy!! You represent your country and the various food dishes, ethnicities in such a lovely way. I also appreciate that you visit places in various price ranges..something for everyone! Always so humble and appreciative.
That is very kind to say thank you very much, Lorraine
Thanks Gary, this is on my doorstep and I didn't know. Will definitely give this a visit.

Lovely to see you pop up this evening Gary.
What a fantastic menu, I've never seen so many breakfast variations.
This is going to be good 👍

Worth every penny Gary. I love the presentation too.

This lifted my spirit on an otherwise sad day hearing of my teenage hero Paul Di'Anno passing. Thank you Gary for being such a good sport, and up the irons mate!
That is very sad to hear Nils
@@GaryEats Thank you Gary!
I redone this video because I wasn’t very good at the beginning Margaret and I did not give it the credit it deserved, saying that many people were saying I’m not very good now 😂❤️
Outstanding Review Gary Eats, makes we want to come to the UK and try this out for myself !!!
Thank you very much, John
I am living in Holland and i can't wait for a new video. This video gives me much pleasure, as always.
I think Gary would enjoy poffertjes 😋
I am sure he will love it😅
Thank you so much. The NL is a stunning country
I must have missed your early review of this breakfast but blown away by that presentation. I've never seen anything like it. Absolutely brilliant..
Thank you very much, David
Brilliant! At first I thought £16.50 was pricey but once you dissected the individual items it makes total sense. Quality AND quantity 👌
There was a lot of quality on the plates Phil
Was happy to see a new video pop up tonight, i love how you show the decor of the places it's all part of the experience and mmmm those eggs
That’s very kind to say, thank you
So glad to see NO icky generic hash browns. 😂. Glad you enjoyed, Gary❣️
Hope the cameraman got a few crumbs...❤
No hash browns and my comment section looks great lol
Shhh! Don't mention the hash browns
Yes hash browns belong in McDonalds not on a breakfast plate.

Gary, my job is sometimes (not usually thankfully) stressful and when that happens I just put on one of your videos while I work and I find it just relaxes me, I think it’s your calming voice that does it. Thanks!
I am really sorry to hear that sometimes your job is a bit stressful but pleased that the videos help
Poached eggs are runny. You are correct.
The only improvement I would like is for the frying pan to be put in the centre of the table and to have 2 plates, then that feast could be shared.
It looked fantastic quality and well cooked.
That's a fair comment Flower!
@flower Share??? If I got my paws on that breakfast then nobody else would be getting anywhere near it 😂
@@shirleyw8720 🤣🤣
@@shirleyw8720 I do not really eat that much - so would share it!
Correct, Gary: Poached eggs are expected to be runny. If you want them hard, you ask for “poached hard.” I like pepper and a couple shots of Tabasco on top of my eggs.
That’s a great idea. I will try that.
That was a delicious meal Gary. Reminded me of my childhood. Mum would have large pans and put the breakfast in them in the middle of the table to help ourselves to. Always kept piping hot that way. Thanks Gary 😁👍
Wow, that sounds fantastic Sylvia

Hi Gary, lovely to see you and really looking forward to this.👍 😊
Many thanks Wendy
I was impressed when you went the first time and I’m still am. Worth every penny and puts Gordon’s to shame!! Poach eggs are always meant to be runny and if you want a harder yolk that’s when you request it, I don’t understand why anyone would request runny eggs it’s an abomination lol. Cafe Paolo is one of my favourite reviews of yours. I’m definitely going to give it try as it’s not too far from me. Thanks Gary for yet another great review and I love your expressions , made me giggle. 😃👍🏻
I did return because I wanted to see if the quality was still as good, if anything it was better, thank you very much for your lovely comment Tiggie
@@GaryEats you’re welcome ☺️
Apologies Gary, I didn’t watch this yesterday! The chilli is what lifts avocado on toast, that and a lovely runny egg. We had this today, yummy. The breakfast looked amazing, mind it was big enough for both myself and wife. Huge portion. Thanks for sharing with us. You are always a joy to,watch, especially when you get a good one.
Absolutely no need to apologise Dave. I really appreciate you and your wife watching
Wow Paolo Cafe looks amazing!! The full English breakfast is huge, I doubt I could eat all that. What quality and definitely worth the price. I would 100% give Paolo cafe a go. Thank you very much and without a doubt Andre
The presentation of the hot English breakfast looked beautiful.
After our last messages, I thought to myself that I must watch another Catherine Deneuve film, something I haven't seen, when I'm relaxing on the weekend.

Amazing price! We had breakfast out a couple of weeks ago, half that size £14 and cracked a crown on the sourdough 🙈😂 xx
For the ingredients, superb!

Hello Gary
You're correct poached eggs are runny, I don't like mine runny so will always ask for a firmer egg. I had that pain/throbbing in my left shoulder last week, happily it just went away, wonder what caused it?! I've been past that cafe en route to Acton next time I'm going in for some food I take my pug to work/ everywhere so we can sit outside 😊
