It scares me to think how much a machine like that would cost to buy new and who ever let it get into that condition needs a good thrashing.
Thank you for sending me the formula for your home made white cleaning solution”. It works just like on your TH-cam channel and is very cheap to make. This will make my restorations much easier. I like the silver and yellow colours and it was an awesome restoration. Please consider adding a three core power cable as suggested by a previous poster as it is easy to do and may save your life.

    Great restoratin! Few safety advices!
    1. Be cautious when working with old machines - most of them are painted with lead paints and lead is very, very bad for your health. If you have no mean of checking the paint for lead, use good dust mask to protect your lungs.
    2. When first starting old, full-metal housing machines, ALLWAYS use good ruber gloves and first check the housing for any electricity, for example with voltage tester, multimeter or other devices. If there is no voltage, then touch it with bare hands. Machines with metal housings are dangerous since, if there is damage on some wire, whole machine can get under high voltage, especilay if there is not grounding.
Full respect for your work! One question too. What is that white liquid you used to clean gears?

  • @digiacomtech5589

Just a suggestion on painting ... when doing these types of restorations, you should NOT paint metal to metal contact areas, like the bearing seats. These seats are precision machined to slip fit the bearings and adding a layer or two of paint (especially some thicker epoxy paints) can make it very difficult to re-seat the bearings when reassembling the unit.

Great job! Changing bearings and seal is the heart of any rebuild, and you got them all. One suggestion, don't get paint in any of the bearing mounting surfaces as in the yellow casting. Put a thin coat of grease on the area where the bearing seats, and it will wipe clean with a rag once painted. Don't put grease on the outer hace either; bearings are made for a metal to metal fit. Keep up the excellent work!
