@@AliasMark69i can see where you are coming from but personally, the smaller the venue, the more interested id be. I can definitely see not wanting to see them in a stafium or a large concert hall, but at a small bar with 100 ppl, or an outdoor concert with only a cpl thousand ppl would be some fun energy to vibe with.
I love their studio take on this, as his phrasing and timing are *spectacularly* odd, in a way that he can't quite replicate live while playing guitar - although he gives it a damn good go.
Cake has so many cool tunes Short skirt/ long jacket,Comfort eagleThe distance, Italian leather sofa . Theirstudio versions are good too The list can just keep going on lol
"VACATION"... I suppose you think you can have your Cake and eat it too. Grin.... Interesting take on a "DISCO" Giant club/radio song. This fella won't win any vocals competitions but it is better than the original so, the drumming is simple but works fine, the horns are a nice touch, the Bass and lead guitarist was the best part..... Glad you're back, hope you had a pleasant time away from all the stress of doing these videos...GRIN BIGGER
What I wonder... Someone in the group says... Let's do that disco hit "I Will Survive" and the other guys said....Sure, as a "JOKE", and "False Hope"... makes sense.
No this was never a folk song. They were just trying to be funny. It's a disco song from 1978 & Gloria Gaynor is the original artist (the version you probably heard).
@@paulrodrigues1994funny since cake is the most folk-like sounding band I’ve heard cover this, sounded more like he was insecure trying to preempt criticism ( *other* people appropriate this song, *other* people use this as a folk song, we’re not being really being hopeful this is fake hope don’t point fingers at meee it was theeem)
Love this cover so much.
love CAKE.
Cake is one of those bands...I totally understand if people don't like their sound, but I do!!
I think they are fantastic!!!!
I smile and can listen to them, but would never pay to see them, having gone to over 300 concerts.

all Cake is worth it.

Delicious
They also do a great cover of War Pigs.
Cake is a fun band and kind of weird rabbit hole. No one really sounds like they do. Try The Distance by Cake for another fun song.
It’s a great cover. Definitely prefer the studio version where the horn really stands out and his phrasing is so unusual but so perfect

He means folk song in usage, not in genre.
