That glacier on top of the volcano is a lot smaller now than it was when I was there in 1975. I was in the US Coast Guard then and we had a LORAN C station on that peninsula (7930 Whiskey). Because of Iceland, I went to Penn State and became a geologist. Thanks for the tour and best wishes.
Wooow, I mean those landscapes just leave you with no words! The rock formations look like an art piece and seriously, a drive-in crater? Iceland really does have it all, doesn't it? 😍 Whenever we finally come and visit you guys, I'd like to order that weather please! I know it only happens two times a year, but please do try.. 😁
The road number for the mountain pass is F570 - currently closed due to the snowy conditions. Usually just before summer they open the pass up and it's ready to be driven. Hope that helps! :)
No I don't think proper crampons would be needed, but it doesn't hurt to bring along a cheap pair of microspikes to give your shoes a little extra grip if it's icy.
It is indeed a beautiful country - this peninsula especially! To answer your question; we both work as tour guides here in Iceland, on the south coast.

Brings back unforgettable memories of this spectacular peninsula 😲😍
It's a spectacular part of Iceland
Some wonderful memories of our trip there. Looks so green and sunny 🌞
Glad to have caught it at the end of summer with all the nice weather too. Getting rainy now!

Our pleasure & thanks for the interesting insight into the history of this area. That large radio station always fascinates me whenever I drive by it!
Insanely cool also how the sea is eroding the lava rock!
It's incredible! Amazing what you can see from high above

Great video's on your channel! Much appreciated.
I was trying to find the mountain pass, like maybe a road number. Could you share it by any chance?

@@VividIceland much appreciated thanks!
Do you need to use crampons when doing the Wonders of Snaefellsnes in late November?

More impressive than Reynisfjara? Wow. Them’s fightin’ words.
Haha! Sorry (not sorry :P)
Lovely landscape. Are you a tour guide in Iceland? Just asking.

Beautiful landscapes, but looks like there is a problem with video fame-rates, so the video is jerky.
Thanks! Could you let me know at what time the video frames are jerky? Might be an issue with the TH-cam compression... I will look into it 😊
@@VividIceland Just DM'ed you to your gmail. Thanks for your work anyway - I love Iceland!
@@nredin Appreciate it! I saw your message and will check it out now :)
