Blows my mind how many users don’t use studios.
That said I use KeyShot to bang out thousands of renders every quarter.
Some users say studios sound like too much work. To that I say, set your scene up once and Add your standard scenes with studios etc. to the model library and assign a keyboard shortcut to it.
KeyShot Python automation is where it’s at.

Hey Sam, Thank you for this video!
They always where the best resource for those small key shot "hacks" :D
I saw this particular technique before at an internship and its super helpful and I'm sure many minds will be blown ^^

Thanks for the video but what if you need to make a family product shot and each product looks perfect only in its own HDRI environment. Can you somehow combine them in Keyshot?

Would this work with animations applied to model parts? I have to animate to open and close various parts of multiple products. Ex. 3 models with middle open or 3 models with left/right open middle closed

I think in this case it would be worth separating out the 3 products to different model sets, but then you can animate the parts within that model set. Does that make sense?

@@SamDoesDesign that’s how I currently do it just wanted to make sure there wasn’t an easier way. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi sam, i no longer have acess to keyshot. Do you know a good free software for rendering my stuff? Keep up the good work 😉

      Blender

Blender is great but it doesn’t work with native files from Solidworks, Shapr3D or other programs, and doesn’t support STEP or similar file formats. You’ll essentially need to re-model your designs specifically in blender to render it there.
Keyshot is so great because you can import your real file straight from the modelling software, and it’s the exact same CAD file used in manufacturing.
I’ve been a fan of Cadmio in the past which works on iPad though!

@@SamDoesDesign blender does support fbx which can be exported from various programs (although you need a plug-in for solidworks I believe). No need to remodel in blender
