War in The Woods 10! Getting Down on America's Sketchiest Track!

- Hey everyone! This past weekend, we were down at Brown County Dragway to check out the 10th Annual War in the Woods! Promoted by Jeff Thomas of Thomas Racing Service and Sponsored by Strange Engineering.
Normally this is a 2 day event, but with bad weather in the forecast, we had our first ever marathon at War in the Woods! Gates opened Friday morning at 9am and we finished up Saturday morning at 10:30 am.
**Disclaimer** there probably is some inappropriate language and there is a little bit of fighting. I would like to further add my apologies for anyone that we interviewed with, but didn't make the video. This might have happened because of loud background music, bad audio on my side, or we didn't have the run that went with the talking clip. If we interview with you, it is our full intention to include you in the video, but sometimes things just don't work out as planned. I'm sorry to anyone that we left out.
I can't stress this enough guys, i'm trying to make a living doing this TH-cam thing, I really need you to like, comment, share and subscribe! It would mean a lot to me, because I really don't want to start up That Wedding Channel. I want to film what I love, but I need it to make sense.

I know close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. But if Billy could have kept it on the ground, I think he had a chance of taking out the Daytona. I know Frankenstein has beat him before, but he's done a lot of work to the S10 this last year.

Maybe you'd be able to get on a few podcasts with SRC or other racing interviews. It sure would help get such amazing film production out further to the public community!
Maybe one day stuff like that will happen. But as of right now, I can't help but feel that I'm a threat to this space. It could all just be in my head, but I can tell you this much... I shout out people, i let everyone plug their brands and channels etc, it's very rare that the same is reciprocated back to me.
That's OK though, I understand it can be tough to be the new guy.
You're doing everything right. Most of those around there are good folk. Since they do behind the scene and builds, you do sideline and interviews. So no threat there. Reach out to the ones who have side podcasts like Word On the Street with Billy and Tommy etc. Wouldn't help if you wait for others to offer in most situations. Best of luck man.👍👍

This was an awesome event and I was watching the entire event with zero sleep. My only suggestion is please get rid of the background music. It was way too much this year
First off...RIP Cali Nate & big props on an excellent tribute to one of your own. Second...this has become a total "bucket list" event for myself that I hope to make in the future. Excellent coverage of some truly Bad Mofos.
RIP Cali Nate . Also , make it happen if you can, it truly is one wild event and definitely worth checking out. Take a lawn chair and a cooler filled with drinks and some snacks. Sit back and take it in.

Way too crowded for that tight of a space between the burnout box and starting line...just a matter of time before somebody gets hurt bad.
I like the races though!
The guy in the mustang silver fox body he lost traction and he could have let it go and saved his car . he hit that grass thats another 100 . but he hit that grass and lost traction. He could have saved his car and 100 bucks
I don't understand why they're racing Nate's car. I get that it's in his honor or memory or whatever, but I wouldn't want to be the guy that ever crashed it or crashed into it. I'm sure there's a lot of people out there that would not want to see that car wrecked.
I had the privelage of seeing cali nate a sgmp at a no prep and then he out ran a local boy on the streets afterwards he won he was constantly on that laptop checking data hate this legend was taken to soon prayers to his loved ones and family,friends,followers and fellow racers who a hurting.

Trees and poles and race cars don't mix in my life time I have lost a lot of friends when these elements get together at high speed
Huge shout out to our favorite starter - Limpy. He stood there like a mountain "almost" the entire race. Sleep? Naw,, Limpy's a PRO,, he says he can sleep when he's dead,, he has races to start and WIN vs LOSS decisions to make! 🙂
I shook his hand around 8am and said incredible job done! Seriously that's dedication.

I wondered the same thing. The only thing I can think of is they were wearing a Hans. You don't have a lot of head movement in a Hans , and they were just looking straight ahead, didn't even see it till it was right in front of them.

That was my American flag canopy. Up on the hill is one of the best spots!! We made it till 6 in the morning and my old ass had to go to bed

That's fair. To be honest , I had a hard time following and I was there. I did manage to label or mention when it was semi finals and finals though.

The Camaro had plenty of time to hit the brakes but he just stayed in the gas
If he was wearing a Hans, it can be hard to turn your head, and maybe he was just looking straight down his lane. But yeah, no brake at all, accelerated into him.

Look at the cars in this event, they are not high end at all. There are no multimillion race teams there.
Real racers race, if you are scared of crashing you shouldn't be racing at all.

You knew the risk going in! I'm saying you would be stupid to run your car knowing that if you crash your summer is over and you're going to be working your ass off to try to fix your car and replace things on a budget that is not large enough to replace your vehicle in short order! And yes I'm not stupid to not realize you can crash your car at any time! Like I said that track is sketchy as hell and would be dumb for anyone who can't afford a crash to run their car at that track! So you got to ask yourself would it be intelligent to run your car there Knowing that! I don't know, in some circles that would be considered stupid!

Yeah, it's the chances people take when racing. It definitely sucks when you didn't do anything to wreck your own car and someone takes you out.
Re: Billy vs the Daytona,, I doubt Billy could have got the Daytona even IF the S-10's front end would have stuck to the track. That Daytona is a BEAST!!
The wheelie is not what kept Billy from winning that pass against the Green Daytona (he has beaten it on more than one occasion), he had a dead hole on the truck. One of the new fuel injectors in the truck quit, mid-pass. He found the problem when he got the truck back to his shop.
Nick and Maddi Plewniak in their awesome 'Straight Gangster' truck,, we LUV that family and the race cars he and she have built. Our first was the 'Dirty 30'. All are built ground up on a very tight budget. We always wish them the very best of luck and SAFE trips to and from the events AND on the race tracks.
That straight gangster truck that Nick has is badass! I'm glad he took the time to chat with me.

Shouldn't be racing there. Its a matter of time before you film someone getting killed. & all those people leaving with wrecked cars. This is a bad deal all around.
While this is true, people have been killed at sanctioned tracks too. I'm not trying to make excuses for one way or the other, but automotive Racing is a very dangerous sport. I would assume most people understand the risks.
I personally would at the very least like them to extend the guardrail right down to the end. Limit the possibility of going into the trees.

Both are definitely up there. I almost would lean more towards brown county dragway just because of the center grass and outside grass and just past shutdown there are no rails but they do have trees.
