Thanks for not editing out the struggles with the sheet goods. Honestly it was a little scary to watch. I got a track saw, game changer for cutting full size sheets of plywood and MDF, more accurate, faster, and safer than the table saw.
Thanks for not editing out the struggles with the breakdown of the plywood. It’s nice to know the struggle is real! It reminds me of Roy always shedding some blood on the Woodwright Shop. It’s authentic woodworking!
I think you showed four different camera angles just while drilling pocket screws. Love it! Lots of fast cuts that keep the viewer on his/her toes. You're going to cost me a lot of money because I need a shop that feels creative like yours.
The build, the camera work, editing, commentary always fun and almost engaging. Always just so great and unique to Dave and my jaw is always on the floor with how beautiful all of his work is
Well done David! That is a beautiful looking bathroom vanity! Let's not forget that woodworking is all about making mistakes & learning from them. It happens to all of us! Happy Holidays!👍👍🌲🌲
Yes! Love this video. I'm so happy you talked about the frustration with drawers because I felt I was crazy having the same frustrations. You made me feel sane again. Thank you.
Nice carcass. Seriously, it does look great. Getting that clean look is not easy and you killed it. Drawer slide screwing montage editing was on point, as was the plywood wrangling. Fun fact: the director and writer of Napoleon Dynamite, Jared Hess, is from my hometown. Thanks for sharing!
The struggle is real with woodworking. Having to keep a 3D simulation constantly running in your mind and accounting for all the edits, changes, and mistakes along the way is a good mental exercise - constant problem solving. Then you have to be sure not to f*ck it up when applying the finish. What a great hobby!
That hand placement without looking at 8:58 had me terrified, saw stop or not! But that whole situation was extremely relatable. I find the blade guard and pawls help hold the wood down close to the blade.
David very nice. Hopefully you get great use out of it for many years to come. Can’t wait to see what you make next. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work David. Keep Making. God bless.
Great Build and Video. This has leapfrogged all other Piccuito videos and it my personal favorite, the end product did not disappoint. Looks really good in your bathroom.
Amazing build Dave! We are in the midst of a bath reno in a house from 59. Same hardboard on the walls, same 2x3 studs, same not stapled 2 conductor wiring… will be exciting when it’s done!
Thanks! Our house is from 56. That was the guest bath. Now they're working on the primary bath although I'm not making the vanity for that one. Cheers!
A couple of tips that I picked up. First was to notch for the top stretcher. Second is using precut shims to get spacing. third is to make the drawers and doors overhang so that you can make one final cut. Thank you for sharing.
I sometimes dream of making my own vanity so that I can build in all sorts of great organizing things: A tilt-out side, or maybe a pullout door, that has the plunger and toilet brush, so they’re inside the vanity but easily accessible. Or maybe a tilt-out side that holds the toilet paper, so you can change the roll without getting up. Drawers that maximize accessibility to the bottom shelf of the vanity. A tilt-out in front of the sink to hold the rubber plug and maybe some other things.
Another great and humorous video David. I have seen in many videos that you have the Jessem Table Saw guides, but haven’t seen you actually use them; unless I’ve missed it. I have been looking at getting them myself but not having seen you use them yet is putting me off. You are an influencer matey! Cheers Anthony
You always keep it honest and real in every video which is so refreshing to watch. It looks great if you don’t drop another video till 2023 have a safe and merry Christmas
David, this is a fine, fine, super fine vanity. You are one smart Christmas cookie. I enjoyed watching and listening to you on this build. You could never have been able to find a quality vanity out there in retail land. You did good, my friend. Thanks for the video and Merry Christmas to you, Dachshunds and of course, your lovely wife.
Amazing job sir, I did a floating push to open soft close vanity for a client, I felt every moment of stress and immense pride upon completion you did ….. well done
I love the grain match of the doors. I am drawing up new kitchen and that is what I plan to do. Frank Lloyd Wright did this in one of his homes and that is the style I plan to build. Love the cherry. Looks great
I loved the story buildup. Messed up 2 sides.. moments later need material for 3 more drawers.. Now we need to perfectly cut the faces from a single sheet of plywood 😂 Awesome video and vanity, Dave!
Great viddy David! I laughed so hard with the extended section of struggling with the sheet goods. I love that you left that in and let it hang for so long. I was going to unsubscribe because of all the Festool and woodpecker tools. But I’ve reconsidered. 😂 Just kidding. I’m a Festool fan boi. 😊 I need a Kapex.
I built mine from oak worktops. Grea t. Thing is that it fits perfectly and no nasty chipboard. I got the doors made. Looks brilliant and I am really proud of it. So give it a go.
Watching the sketchy work with the sheet of plywood was anxiety inducing. Latter when you said, "so I'm going to use the track saw to everything," I died a little.
Love your jokes, Dave! They always make me giggle. Bob and Jimmy never laugh as hard as they should on the podcast when you sneak your humor in between comments. And, of course, great woodwork as always!
"I'm stalling. I'm a little nervous. I'm a little drunk". That really hit home for me. I find myself stalling and nervous all the time. I'm glad it's not just me lol
Oh goodness, was my BH puckered during those first couple of cuts for the drawer bottoms. "Advanced cut. Professionals and idiots only." HAHA. Another great video!
Mother of God, I was half expecting you to lose a hand in that sheet breakdown. You knew you did bad as soon as you clipped the blade, but serious credit for leaving it in. More people need to see why it's a bad idea.
8:45 major pucker moment 😆 seriously though, this was great timing as I can't find a vanity that actually looks good. Had something very similar in mind... this turned out so perfect
Damn you. I was just going to refurbish the an old vanity in my bathroom but after seeing this I just realized I need to yank it out and rebuild it. You just cost me about 700$. Lol. Nice work my friend, thanks for the video, I’m becoming a big fan.
Om the podcast David mentioned he didn't want to make how-to videos anymore. I have to say, watching him handle the full sheet of 3/16" ply, that he made the right call
I built my own vanity about two years ago. Nowhere near as nice as David’s but it gave me a feeling of accomplishment. One thing that has bugged me in the past is that vanities you buy always seem too low. Making my own fixed that problem. Also my old vanity had a fake drawer in the center because of the sink bowl. I made a real one, two ‘drawerettes’ attached to a common front. They don’t hold much, just extra bar soap plus a few hairbrushes, but I wanted to make mine a little unique.
You struggle to cut down the full sheet as the camera man just keeps filming. 🤣 I appreciate the restraint as most of us don't have the luxury (or want to wait for) of help
Nice work Dave! I built our bathroom vanity a few years ago. Solid quarter sawn white oak I milled from a tree in my woods. It took eight days to build and install it. Good times.
Cool vanity! I like the 1/8" spacer idea. I've used 1/8" drill bits, coins, playing cards, tile spacers, etc., but the advantage of a long strip like that means more hands-free, which is alway a good thing. And $105 for that sheet! Man, lumber prices are just obscene. And with enough overstock in the pipeline, and low demand from depressed housing starts, other similar factors, doesn't appear it'll get better anytime soon.... 😞

I hate to say it, but watching someone else struggle with cutting sheet goods is kinda cathartic.😄
Preach 😅😂😂😂
Especially when he has a track saw and could have cut the plywood for the drawer bottoms using it.
lol I literally stopped the video at 9 minutes to come in here and make this exact post
Watching Piccuito with the real life struggles in a wood shop is awesome. What's not to like about this guy? Nice video Dave!!
Dave is the best in front of the camera and in real life! Really hope he has another meetup such a cool person surrounded by awesome people
Thanks for not editing out the struggles with the sheet goods. Honestly it was a little scary to watch. I got a track saw, game changer for cutting full size sheets of plywood and MDF, more accurate, faster, and safer than the table saw.
Beautiful build!! I think we’ve all done the plywood dance in our lifetime.
You are a rockstar. I loved that moment when you said, I’m just stalling. I can so relate.
This is the most honest table saw video ever!
The build, the camera work, editing, commentary always fun and almost engaging. Always just so great and unique to Dave and my jaw is always on the floor with how beautiful all of his work is
So MANY opportunities for cam out sound FX. I feel like I witnessed a golden age of David's channel that will never be again.
Hahaha! Hold tight
Love the Euro/Modern design influence with the execution and quality of a Master.... Well done!
Wow! Couldn't imagine anything else that would look better in there than the vanity you built by your own.
Well done David! That is a beautiful looking bathroom vanity! Let's not forget that woodworking is all about making mistakes & learning from them. It happens to all of us! Happy Holidays!👍👍🌲🌲
I like the way you thought out how to cut out the plywood to grain match all the doors!!Very nice vanity!!!!
Totally dig the new vanity. Keep killin’ it Dave.
Oh wow watching you handle that full sheet of plywood was hilarious thanks you made my day man!
Yes! Love this video. I'm so happy you talked about the frustration with drawers because I felt I was crazy having the same frustrations. You made me feel sane again. Thank you.
Looks great! Your attention to detail and planning with the grain directions is amazing.

Watching this to get me pumped for my desk build next week!
I use to watch your videos for the woodworking. Now I watch it for the comedy! Pure gold
God bless.
Love the humor, love the montage, love the fuck ups. It's educational, it's casual, your shop is so different, so cheerful. Great video. Thank you.
I can't think of one thing more motivating in the shop then watching Rex Kwon Do and Kip on the TV.😆 Another nice build by the Drunken Woodworker.
Great authentic video. Thank you. I learnt a lot and it was great to see even the pros struggle with ply. 👍
Very clean looking vanity, I really like how the doors all grain matched!
Great Build and Video. This has leapfrogged all other Piccuito videos and it my personal favorite, the end product did not disappoint. Looks really good in your bathroom.

I am HOWLING 😂😂😂
Everyone at 8:08 “use the track saw! use the track saw!” You are my spirit animal.
Turned out beautifully
Love the video, man. Is all in the struggles. The result is priceless.
Amazing work, looks incredible.
4:26 "You merely adopted the wood...I was BORN to it!" - Dave
A VERY welcome return to getting the screw started first.
You always keep it honest and real in every video which is so refreshing to watch. It looks great if you don’t drop another video till 2023 have a safe and merry Christmas
Turned out great! Always enjoy seeing the process to get there.
We love Dan-o. the sidepiece always goes in the bottom!!!
really a great job Dave!

“Professionals and idiots only” haha I love it!
Great job with the vanity David! The continuous grain looks awesome on the doors and drawer fronts!
8:30 - I'm glad other woodworkers do this, too.
Amazing and inspiring! Thank you so much for sharing!
Great edits of the drill sounds!!!
Great film, nice shots. Vanity and bathroom look lucious. Mahalo for sharing! : )
I love the grain match of the doors. I am drawing up new kitchen and that is what I plan to do. Frank Lloyd Wright did this in one of his homes and that is the style I plan to build. Love the cherry. Looks great
love how you have Napoleon Dynamite on in the background
David the videos are getting better and better! Keep it up!!
I laughed so hard that it concerned my kid. Thank you for providing that to us today. Perfect way to use that Dumb & Dumber clip.
I really like that vanity!
Loving your work, as usual! Glad I’m not the only one that can never figure out the box joint jigs!
Looks great, I like your method for getting doors and drawer faces to line up.
I loved the story buildup. Messed up 2 sides.. moments later need material for 3 more drawers.. Now we need to perfectly cut the faces from a single sheet of plywood 😂 Awesome video and vanity, Dave!
That came out great!
It is woodworking law that the router dovetail jig requires at least 3 screw ups before it will work properly lol
It's a christmas miracle you have all your digits , after your display of tablesaw safety skills😅
Great viddy David! I laughed so hard with the extended section of struggling with the sheet goods. I love that you left that in and let it hang for so long. I was going to unsubscribe because of all the Festool and woodpecker tools. But I’ve reconsidered. 😂
Just kidding. I’m a Festool fan boi. 😊 I need a Kapex.
Awesome Dave!!!! Cheers from Buenos Aires!!!!
That is beautiful sir!
Dude! Great work! The video was great to watch too!
7:48 DP flipping us off 😆
Nice build!
This is hilarious watching you make the same struggles as the rest of the mere mortals. Thanks for the video!
I built mine from oak worktops. Grea t. Thing is that it fits perfectly and no nasty chipboard. I got the doors made. Looks brilliant and I am really proud of it. So give it a go.
Nice job cutting that plywood! 👏 I probably would have chickened out. 😄 I've definitely cut down some large sheets though.
Favorite moment: cutting 1/4 inch plywood. Story of my life.
Looks awesome David! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Looks great! The struggle with drawers and doors is real but you handled it well :)
Watching the sketchy work with the sheet of plywood was anxiety inducing. Latter when you said, "so I'm going to use the track saw to everything," I died a little.
Mmm that is so pretttty. Turned out great!
Soooo clean!
Whew! looks awesome!
Oh goodness, was my BH puckered during those first couple of cuts for the drawer bottoms. "Advanced cut. Professionals and idiots only." HAHA. Another great video!
Love your channel, but I always end up with a bad case of tool envy. Beautiful vanity.
I feel a Stumpy Nubs commentary coming after this one. LMAO
Great project though!
*in unison* “…that’s how it goes.” Ha, jinx!! 😂
I love the one-liners in this one, they really got me 😂
Mother of God, I was half expecting you to lose a hand in that sheet breakdown. You knew you did bad as soon as you clipped the blade, but serious credit for leaving it in. More people need to see why it's a bad idea.

Nicely done.

Thank you for admitting the mistakes on camera. It helps the rest of us bozos sooo much. Being funny about them is a nice bonus.
This job was like, measure once, cut twice lol. Nice job btw
“I’m nervous…I’m a little drunk…” LOL!!😂😂
Om the podcast David mentioned he didn't want to make how-to videos anymore. I have to say, watching him handle the full sheet of 3/16" ply, that he made the right call
12:30 "I'm stallin'. I'm nervous. I'm a little drunk."
What could possibly go wrong? 🤣
I spent like three hours doing shading the upper lip. It's probably the best drawing I've ever done.
I built my own vanity about two years ago. Nowhere near as nice as David’s but it gave me a feeling of accomplishment. DAMN The music for this episode is DOPE!!!! 🎶🎸
You struggle to cut down the full sheet as the camera man just keeps filming.
🤣
I appreciate the restraint as most of us don't have the luxury (or want to wait for) of help
My dude, I recommend u buy a sliding table saw for cutting sheet goods.
Nice work Dave! I built our bathroom vanity a few years ago. Solid quarter sawn white oak I milled from a tree in my woods. It took eight days to build and install it. Good times.
