It's kind of a spoiler so watch everything before opening this. (There's a word limit so I have to split this into 3 comments). Here's the essay.
As I have already mentioned in the video, Shizuku has an angelic voice. She can be soft and gentle at times, and she can also be strong and confident when she needs to.
Because I like her voice so much, I literally pay attention to every line she sings. I would also listen to their songs with earpiece on and blast it super loudly just so that I can hear her beautiful voice clearly and make sure that I don't miss out on anything good. And so, I will be talking about my favourite songs and parts of other songs that she did super well in.
First up, let's talk about her covers. In my opinion, she has no bad covers. To be honest, at this point I'm not sure if this is even an opinion or should this be a fact. I highly recommend Happy Halloween because she sounded so freaking pretty in every single damn line. She sounded like an absolute witch which is befitting of the theme. There's a mysterious vibe and an evil or should I say cunning/sly tone to her singing especially in "atsumaru kana" and the entire pre-chorus from "hitotsu, futatsu..." and omg her "obaketa-chi"; that "taa~chi" is. So. Good. Moving on, my next favourite part would be "kyandii wa kurenai no?" Everytime I hear this sentence, I feel like her beauty has increased by one trillion fold. I don't know why I like this part so much, she just sounds so good it's driving me insane. And of course, I will give you all the candy and anything that you want in this world (because this sentence translates to "won't you give me candy?" and now you know why I love this part so much). Her "asa made" sounds so pretty too, especially the way she sang "de". Her "la la la" is also amazing. Last but not least, the ending is also equally stunning. The way she sang "nai" in "asa made netakunai" is so gorgeous and it concluded the song on such a good note and tone. Basically, she absolutely slayed in this song and I'm sorry (not sorry) she has the best cover out of everyone else. Don't ask me to listen to Haruka because I already did and it still didn't change my mind. Not one bit.
Alright, moving on. Metamo Reborn. First of all, I love this song so damn much it's literally my second favourite song in the entire game. The fact that it's a Shizuku focus song makes it one trillion times better. What's even better is that there's a Shizuku cover and she absolutely dominated this entire song. If I really had to list my favourite parts of the song I might as well write out the entire lyrics. Okay but if I really really had to be specific, my favourite parts are the pre-chorus, "Make up, dress up", "konna mon janai no", "omoi kometara", "totteoki saa ima" especially in the third chorus with her ad lib, "sensee..." , "aidea wa tsunagatte", "shake shake shake", "change change change", "tsukuri ageruyo masutaapisu". Do you get why I should just write the entire lyrics now? Anyways, the reason why I like these parts is because she either sounds super cute or powerful and pretty and the latter is especially evident in the chorus when they are "aa" syllables like in "maakeup", "chaange" and omg her "maasutapisu" is truly a masterpiece. Also, I was somehow under the impression that "totteoki saa ima" is super high at the last note from the way Airi sang it but when I heard Shizuku sing, I felt like she didn't even have to put any effort to sing it. She just hit it like the note was only a semitone higher than the previous. I'm not saying that Airi has no skill which is definitely not true, it's just, this is the feeling I get from Shizuku when I heard her sing that part.
Next, there's a category of covers which I call the "smooth covers". These include, Yoru ni Kakeru, Romeo and Cinderella, Colour of Drops, Milk Crown on Sonechka and Happy Halloween. As I have already talked about Happy Halloween, I will not mention it here again. Despite the name of the category, this does not mean that her other covers aren't smooth. It actually refers to the songs that she uses her breathy voice the least. Because there's less airy-ness, her singing sound super smooth, kinda like a smooth flowing river with less bumps and rocks in between. And this is the thing about her singing. It's always so smooth and there isn't any sudden transition or her suddenly straining her voice to hit a high note because she can glide across the octaves so effortlessly and I believe this is what you call being vocally agile.
Her Romeo and Cinderella cover has got to be one of the smoothest songs ever. I feel like she has made Cinderella one billion times prettier and everytime I hear her sing "watashi no romeo" my heart just melts. Please listen to the full version of the song because the bridge with her and Airi in it sounds absolutely amazing. Some prefer Airi's cover over hers because of Airi's stronger voice but I still beg to differ. Airi's cover is undoubtedly amazing but Shizuku's cover just hits different. Same goes for Yoru ni Kakeru. How is no one talking about how similar her voice is to the original singer? I maybe biased but I still think Shizuku's cover sounds better than the original. I especially love the way she sang "saawa" in "sawagashii hiibi" because it's so powerful and pretty (I know I keep using this word but it really is and I can't think of better words to describe her voice). I also can't relate to anyone who doesn't think her cover is the best. Colour of Drops is also freaking good not because it's her focus song but it's really because she sang it so well. I love her "shizuku ga~". Maybe it's because her saying her own name makes my heart melt.
Okay so Milk Crown on Sonechka deserves a paragraph on its own. I'm so happy and at the same time amazed that she can sing slow songs and also super fast songs. I don't know how the VA can sing so quickly while maintaining her Shizuku voice. So talented. (I could be exaggerating because I'm way too obsessed over her voice.) I don't think there's a need to really discuss about her flawless singing in her cover so perhaps let's talk about the full version with Minori. I think we all know what's coming. "Sonaka ni yubi o sasareteru kankaku moushiwakenai desu kiecha itai" , "hiza o otte taete itta the tasuketa mo kure nakatta" and "mota zaru mono ga zange shitta tte shiranpuri desu ka". I remembered very clearly when my brother first heard the full version of it he made a surprised face and stared at me in disbelief "bro you gotta listen to this" (he's a shizuku stan) and he was saying how he found some gem in this song and he played these gorgeous parts and that was when I was absolutely shook to the core. Her strong singing is so beautiful I can never get enough of it and her small vibrato at the end got me flipping and I replayed it so many times.
And Shoujorei? This song is literally made for her (Haruka fans will attack me but I will not change my mind). She sounds pretty airy in this song but that's the whole point. It's a sad song and she did an excellent job at bringing out the sadness. The overall feeling I got from hearing her sing this song is that she barely put in any effort (I have the exact same feeling when I listened to her "smooth covers"). She's hitting high notes left and right and yet she made it sound like it was no big deal to her. It paints the picture of a natural cycle of mini waves that hit the beach (during the chorus) and then slowly retreating back to the ocean (during the verse). But this isn't the sexiest part of all. I freaking love her vocal fry. She uses them so perfectly and especially at the "sou kimi no kurushimi...", it makes your heart explode. I can replay it one billion times and not get sick of it.
To be honest, I also think that Float Planner and Dreaming Chuchu are songs that she can claim to be hers. I know Float Planner is a Haruka focus song but this song and Dreaming Chuchu have such a soft and dreamy vibe they kinda scream "Shizuku". I'm not sure why but I'm quite addicted to her "BPM" in Float Planner.
Now, there's one thing I need to confess. I don't like Nostalogic. This has nothing to do with the singers. I just don't like the melody, the effects and the vibe. It makes me feel really uncomfortable and I only played it once in the game. I didn't even bother to FC it. However, because I was making my second video on favourite alternate vocals (+ cards + character ranking tryna promote this video lol) so I forced myself to listen to it a few days ago and I instantly regret not listening to it earlier. Okay before that, I was opening up comments section as the song started and I saw people commenting like "my soul ascended after listening to Shizuku's verse and I'm like "okay maybe I can expect something good" and yes I was so freaking glad I made the decision to listen to it and I think I will start to play this song in the game again. Yeah so I was literally shook and for the first few seconds/minutes I don't know why but my mind refused to believe that was Shizuku.
I guess that's all for her covers. Can I just say, I'm truly upset that there isn't a Shizuku cover for Earth's Final Confession.
I could be biased but personally, Shizuku sounds the best out of the entire MMJ. The only exceptions where she isn't the MVP are Airi songs because Airi has a very unique voice and there are certain parts where only Airi can sing it well. You cannot tell me that Shizuku can bring out the same vibe as Airi in More Jump More! and Parasol Cider and the fast talking part in Vampire. Airi should be the MVP of Happy Synthesizer too. I'm not sure how Shizuku will sound like in Marshmary and Love Trial but of course she won't sound bad, it's just whether she can sing it better than Airi. Speaking of Vampire, please please please listen to the full version and especially those Shizuku parts that I've mentioned in the video and you will thank me. You're welcomed in advance.
Apart from these songs, she slayed in every others. Karakuri Pierrot and Heart Forecast sounds like a Shizuku centered song as well and I'm so glad there's a Shizuairi cover for both of these songs because I love these songs so goddamn much.
Next, I need to talk about Aoiro Enogu (Blue Paint) because it is the most and severely underrated Cup Noodle song. It only has 2.1 million views on the main prsk channel whereas the others have way more views than that. The reason why I love this song apart from the fact that it is a Shizuku song and it's a Hinomori sisters' song, is because of her mini raps. Her strong singing sounds so pretty and makes your heart race, the same reason why I love Milk Crown on Sonechka except the latter has more angst. I wished she sang strongly more often but I am okay with her whispers and breathy singing voice too.
Alright, what I'm gonna say next is perhaps the most unpopular opinion ever and the whole Project Sekai fandom can disagree with me or say that I have bad taste but 私は、私達は (I am, We are) is my most favourite song in the game. I definitely agree that the chorus is disappointing and honestly I'm really hoping for a miracle that Colorful Stage/Palette will change the chorus to something with lyrics because it's honestly such a waste of a good melody and opportunity for Shizuku to sing. Nevertheless, it's still a god tier song and Shizuku definitely outshone everyone (imo). Her "mamori taimono bakari sa shinpai wa nai" and "kowai mono wa nai, osorewa shinai" are the best and this is exactly the type of voice I like. It's strong and yet feminine and beautiful. I just really don't know how to put it in words but I seriously (x infinity times) love this song. Till now, I am still hoping and waiting for the full version of this song to be released because I really need to hear her sing the second verse with the fast parts and the super high note in the second chorus "osorewashinai".
I guess you can tell by now I am absolutely obssessed with her voice in particular the times where she sings strongly. To some extent I really wish she is in Nightcord instead of MMJ because there would be so many more songs where she can sing strongly. The thing about Nightcord is that everyone has a super unique voice so it's easy to tell their voices apart even when they are harmonized but Shizuku's voice gets masked like 95% of the time when all the members sing together. This is also why I'm super upset when Shizuku doesn't get enough solo lines in group songs (like Booo!) because if she's not singing alone, I can't hear her beautiful voice at all. I also really really love her high notes. She does it so effortlessly and it's so pretty it's driving me crazy. If I were a songwriter I would create a song that is entirely on the high octaves and make her scream through the whole song.
In conclusion, Shizuku has the best voice. Her voice is pretty, cute and healing. If you are in a bad mood, sad or feeling sick, I highly recommend that you listen to her singing and play it on infinite loop because it's like taking a potion of healing or golden or even notch apple in Minecraft, you will recover in no time. If you have not listened to the full versions and all of MMJ songs then you should do so right away because trust me, you will be shocked and amazed to find hidden gems (aka Shizuku's parts). And this is the thing about Shizuku's singing. You never know what else she can do and she just keeps amazing me. This is also why I'm always so excited when new MMJ songs are released. I can't wait to hear how good she sounds even though I already know she will sound the best and I have no fear or worry that she will not. My only concern is that she doesn't get enough lines. Also, I may sound like I'm against Haruka but I'm not. I just feel that Shizuku deserves some individual recognition and her own spotlight because she's so so underrated. I honestly don't understand how some can put her in like last 5 positions when their comments are literally always praising her angelic voice. I am not even requesting for her to be first (even though I am low-key mad when she's not), I just want her to at least be in top 10 or minimum 11 or 12. Nevertheless, I still respect everyone's opinions. And sorry for the long conclusion.
I don't think I've ever been this obsessed over a voice actor's voice before from all the animes I've watched and this is not even an anime. It's a freaking game. Her voice sounds super similar to Shinobu form Demon Slayer (who is also Yor from SpyxFamily) and I love Yor but I didn't take note of her voice but when I heard Shizuku's voice, I went insane over her voice. I would literally force myself to listen to songs I'm not interested in (like Nostalogic as mentioned earlier) just to hear her pretty voice and thank god she never disappoints (if there was ever a time please let me know because I'm genuinely interested to know).

@@Waifuszk I’ve never seen someone so infatuated by such a thing before. And I agree. I am, We are is honestly such a good song. The chorus was a lil’ disappointing but oh my god the pre-chorus is so divine. I love MMJ and I feel like they need to be appreciated more. I love everyones personalities. They compliment each other so well. Shizuku’s airheaded nature is also so cute. The only shizuku cover I really am not really that into is Nostalogic. I just feel like it fits harukas energy more than Shizuku. Anyway after reading all this I think I need to step up on my stanning game.

Karin Isobe - She has a wide range in singing and has done opera at one point, and has lots of experience as a singer. Not sure abt her va career
Reina Ueda - has quite a lot of experience as a va, not sure abt singing
Yui Ogura - has released several music videos, is p experienced with singing
Ai Furihata - lots of singing exp and va in love live
Fumiya Imai - Akito was his first official singing role, and he’s not that experienced compared to the others
Kento Ito - experienced voice actor and singer, makes his own music, not much voice acting range from what I’ve heard but extremely clear intonation, as shown in HypMic
Daisuke Hirose - has the most stable vocals, as he’s a stage actor. Doesn’t really have many va roles but has quite a lot for stage acting, which requires stable singing and talking while running and dancing
Hina Kino - not that experienced in voice acting or singing, but is a natural soprano, and can reach extremely high notes easily. Not much voice range
Machico - is a singer as well, massive range
Shunichi Toki - lots of va and singing experience, is a singer and songwriter, and has a wide range in singing and va
Tomori Kusunoki - did love live, wide range

This ranking is so BASED!!! I’m so happy that Kanade wasn’t ranked super low like some other rankings do. 25ji literally has the best singers in the entire game (I stand by that statement). Shizuku’s voice as well is one of my absolute favs.
shizuku absolutely deserves that place. not only shes my favourite voice but my favourite character too, and i see so many people not liking her voice. in fact, when i saw ena i thought that the next was going to be shizuku and mafuyu first place because of that, so i was really surprised to see her at the top. its absolutely true that all of her covers are amazing and whenever i see a video titled "shizuku + harukas va sing ikanaide" i immediately click it to hear what a masterpiece it is. imo whenever a new mmj song comes out and i listen to it she never disappoints and when a song has a shizuku cover, no matter how good the others sound, i know it will always be the best so i dont need to worry about buying the other covers. i was so sad when shizuku didnt get a worlds last confession cover. just to show how desperate i am to listen to her voice i watched kakegurui twin and precure super stars (animes that have characters voiced by her va) just to listen to her satisfying voice more. i stan rina honnizumi

I'm also obsessed over honnizumi rina's voice so I would watch her youtube vids even tho I don't understand a single word bc it's in jap. Also, she recently made a cover with haruka's VA. It's "Phony". U can listen to it if u hv not! It's on their joint TH-cam channel😊

Shizuku is one of my faves as well, literally got all her covers in my playlist and I always try to get people to listen to her angelic voice. My soul died for Akito as he’s my number 2 though and have all his alt covers as well 🥲 But yeah, glad to see such passion for a MMJ member, this group is so underrated in the fandom

I Like how the project sekai voices match the personality of the character. One of my favorite parts of the covers is how they focus on the melody compared to other games which just try to find more power vocals
(Random side note: I have a bias against An cause she has such a different and interesting voice this goes for Mafuyu too)

(MY OPINION!)
I agree with almost the entire list, you explain everything very well and how you see each character's covers. The only part I don't quite agree with is the top 3, and Kanade and Emu. For me, Ena is in 1st place (but why?), for me, Mafuyu's voice represents her personality very well, I know her VA tries to represent her emotions more, but some parts I don't really like, even though her voice is powerful, sometimes i think her voice sounds really messy (correct me if i'm wrong) or too strained/whispered. Sometimes i think the only time she had a "good messy voice" was in "BUG" where she mixed her voice in a more "powerful" way, but I don't think that in other songs that kind of voice would be good, like in "Saisei" so I would put her on the top 5 I think.
As for Shizuku, I can't deny that she has a beautiful and great voice, in addition to being very recognizable, but I think that sometimes she also has a more strained voice (?) and I think I would put her in the top 10, but I don't know where.
As for Kanade, I would trade places with Emu (I'M SORRY, SERIOUSLY, I FEEL GUILTY FOR DOING THIS, DON'T GET ME WRONG, I LOVE HER) is just, I don't know how to like "whispering" voices that much (I'm sorry once again)
As for Emu, I love her voice (everyone will hate me for that), but I think she has such a cute voice that makes me happy every time I hear it (I recommend listening to INKYA IMPULSE: Hanako version, her VA is really something here) I personally love her voice on "At God's Mercy", "Once Upon a Dream", "Horizona Orchestra", "Alien Alien", "Telecaster B Boy", etc, I didn't like her voice before, but it really grew on me.

Hi! I actually agree with 85-90% of what u said here! Regarding Mafuyu, I understand what u meant by messy n powerful voice n it was so perfect in Bug n dat is exactly what I like abt her voice bc she sounds damn pretty to me (even tho ik her VA is trying to convey pain n strong emotions but it just comes off to me as a super pretty voice idk why😅). I forgot to mention this in the video but, thr r times whr I contemplated if mafuyu shld be in 2nd place n if it shld hv been ena instead bc honestly I don't rly appreciate her covers bc of her tone/way of singing(?) seems to fluctuate. Like she would be all whispery at the start n suddenly her voice changes so abruptly to the strong n messy voice like u mentioned. Its like it doesn't blend well tgt. Maybe the songs r meant to be conveyed this way but I prefer smoothness (dk how to explain that feeling)? But the reason why I still placed her 2nd n not ena is bc firstly, her voice is super unique (personally) and secondly, when Mafuyu sings a good part, it just rly hits me hard. As for Kanade, I totally understand dat whispery voice isn't everyone's cup of tea n in fact, when I first listened to Kanade's singing, I disliked it so much bc I felt like she was just breathing out way too much air n I refused to listen to her covers or appreciate her singing for the longest time only until recently. N for emu, I really really wanna thank you for appreciating her voice. I'm so happy dat thr r ppl who ranks emu's voice high. Like I mentioned in the video, even tho she naturally has a high-pitched cutesy voice, I surprisingly nvr find it annoying n I agree w the songs u mentioned. The reason why I rank her low is rly bc I just prefer other singing voices over hers n I hv no complains abt her singing actually. Overall, I think ur opinions r super valid!!! I've always loved Shizuku and Airi's voice even though I don't pay enough attention to MMJ (sorry mmj fan don't kill me I love some of their songs). I really love her voice in Vampire, you know when she says "Kimi no subete wo kurau made" its so attractive. I was shocked when I first saw it.
I also love Airi's voice but it doesn't really have a reason maybe its because her voice is recognizable and in-character. Only problem is patchwork staccato sekai cover. I've always listened to it in original Miku vocals and when I first heard the Airi opening, I thought my earphones were buzzing. Yea sorry, but her voice sounded so forced and annoying there...
And yess as a Tsukasa fan it saddens me to see him low ranked but I actually get your point. He might sound forced in some high notes (Journey, for example) but his Mr. Showtime lines were just god tier in my opinion. I love his voice cause it brings me joy and I may be biased lol.
Okay Ichika's voice is very nice, I love her Miku duets but she's just so overused... when I first heard of Kagerou Daze's sekai cover I thought it was just Ichika and Miku and then boom there's actually other members too?? Wow they got 1 line each and yeah that's enough. At least they could've singed the last chorus together.
When I first started this game I didn't like Minori's voice at all (still not a fan). I think she sounds a little distant with MMJ. I feel like she sometimes breaks the mood of the song (really sorry, Minori fans) but I like her voice in Tenshi no Clover

I agree so much with Airi, i love her voice, but they really do need to stop making her sing higher pitched (thats mainly why i don't really like mmj's marshmary cover)

I love Akito’s voice so much so I’m sad it’s not top 10, but it’s understandable because he’s not as experienced obviously so he’s not gonna be on the same level as someone like Toya. Also I’m so happy Shiho is getting some attention! I love her voice a lot.

N25 Fan here so just going to have my tiny input on their voices (i have to hold myself back from ranting), I love all their voices so much. Kanade's whispery voice I didn't really realize how much I LOVED until I played some covers. I do think there's some songs that she gets a bit cut back from how much power you need, and she has to maintain that very light, whispery voice so it's a bit hard of a combination, but GOD she goes so hard on the slower ones. She sounds great with the group and helps balance out the powerful voices Ena and Mizuki possess, but her covers are AMAZING. She excels at conveying the emotion her songs do, especially in Saisei it feels like Kanade's about to cry or maybe even IS crying silently right now but it's somehow simultaneously comforting. It just fits her so well and I love her voice. OH AND YES KANADE TOTALLY HITS STUFF LIKE THAT 'okay' in Samsa. I HAVE THAT SINGULAR WORD STUCK IN MY HEAD.
Mizuki I mean same reason as everyone else. The sheer power conveyed is amazing, and those particular lines where it just feels like they GO OFF? Chef's kiss. If I do have one complaint it's that it's a bit harder to feel that emotion compared to other N25 members because of the sheer power vested into it, but god i definitely still felt it in ID Smile. And the emotions in powerful songs like Venom and Charles are conveyed amazingly, but it's a bit hard to maintain that Mizuki feel, powerful voice, AND emotion in more delicate covers. So kinda like your critique, basically. They work best in the powerful ones.
Ena is to me a more versatile Mizuki. Her voice is just so beautiful and nice to listen to, and while I find myself enjoying Mizuki's covers of songs like the aforementioned Venom and Charles, Ena's voice works amazingly with both the powerful ones and the more delicate ones like DCSF/MKDR- I love her MKDR cover, it still kinda has that delicate tone from the previous one but during the chorus she goes off and it really does feel like she wants to scream out her emotions at you. And her Kanade tomo susora cover? I never see anyone talk about that cover and I LOVE IT, she sounds so soft during the first verses but when the chorus hits she just GOES.
AND MAFUYU! UNDERRATED VOICE. The mystery to it is just so ENTHRALLING and Mafuyu-esque, it's perfect. She can convey and all the emotions and it's pure perfection. The very dark feel in Jackpot Sad Girl is amazing, simultaneously gives that dead, emotionless vibe of Mafuyu but also emotional in its emotionlessness?? It's very unique and dark, it pulls me in and I can feel that inner despair she has. I can't describe it but it's just AMAZING. And then (im going by cover songs because why not) we have Saisei. It has that delicate side to her voice and I also love it, same rank as Kanade's Saisei for me. And Bug? Mafuyu bug cover changed my life. She sounds incredibly dead in the first part, all 'good girl' and emotionless, and then chorus drops and she is practically screaming and sobbing, it's so painful and it's perfect for her character. MM EMOTIONS MAFUYU IS AMAZING!

Maybe it's too late too text this, but Mafuyu have very weird voice. Every time she starts singing louder it sounds very bad (chrous in Bug for example) top 11-14 as for me.
Haruka's voice is pretty close to Shizuku's idk why she's almost at the bottom (top 5-6 as for me).
Kanade must be closer to bottom because of her specific voice style. I'm pretty sure that if her VA mustn't talk and sing like this she would be way better (top 11-14 as for me).
And last. Shiho is the only woman vocalist that has low voice and it sounds very good (top 1-4 as for me).
I actually do agree with you. As for Haruka, idk thr's just smth abt her voice but yes, setting dat aside, she's a great singer and if I had completely no bias I would put her top 5 too😊
