Just not able to believe the playing of MSG.
What an artist !!! Spontaneously decoding what is sung by the artist and playing it back within a fraction of a second. Without severe hardwork and Almighty's special blessings - This is not possible

I have heard Semmangudi saying that MSG displayed amazing skill and dexterity in playing the difficult Kalyani varnam on the four strings at a very young age. Impeccable bowing and immaculate fingering!

And the Sriranjani! How does one even begin to describe it? A masterclass, to say the least. Modern day youngsters on the concert circuit (vocalists as well as accompanists) would do well to listen to it over and over again - but be cautious not to try and emulate the kind of swaraprastharas in a hurry! Such vidwat can only come with years of experimentation and understanding of raga lakshnas. But it would do well to note the bonhomie - after rounding up his long korvais, SKR has the magnanimity to ask MSG to have a go - a treat for the audience as well as SKR himself as he repeatedly shows his appreciation. This piece underscores a golden truth - a concert (and its success) is the sum of its component parts.
This is Mumbai Concert of 1967. Accompanists are MSG and Trichy Sankaran sir on Mridangam.

I hasten to add that I refer to Shri Karaikudi R Mani, besides MSG and SKR
All three greats are no more. But what an indelible stamp they have left with this unbelievable concert! The mutual admiration between SKR and MSG is so heartening. MSG in my opinion has the ultimate short-term memory recall amongst all accompanists! What a subhapanthuvarali!

by Sri. Trichy Shankaran sir.., not Sri. Karaikudi R Mani sir... S. Kalyana Raman sir has the same style of his guru Sri GNB sir.., who produced lot many great musicians to this world. Thanks for uploading this wonderful concert. I have no words to describe SRI MSG'S violin. Simply superb... 👌👌🙏🙏

Mridangam is not by mani sir
Mridangist is not Mani sir.....!!!!....notice the kucchi mridangam sound.....Mani sir has never used kucchi.....he plays only kappi ....also the sarvalaghu patterns and korvais indicate Palani sir's playing style....it could be trichi shankar sir.....not Mani sir definitely.......!!!!!

The modern day practice of the Tamils adding "Sir" to (after) the names sounds hypocritic and funny, to put it mildly. e.g., GNB Sir!
