Awesome video. My changer drawer gears got out of alignment and the changer kept ejecting the drawer over and over. Your video had all the info I needed tear down the changer and realign the gears. Since I had it apart, I went ahead and cleaned the position switch, the lens, and re-lubed the whole drawer drive mechanism. Thanks for the video!
Thanks a lot for the video, NorCal715. Very helpful. I have a CDP-CD315, but the system is very similar, if not identical. A lot of grease on the gears, got my hands full of it, and none inside the encoder. Mine was not so dirty, but still scrapped some black stuff onto isopropyl alcohol. Let's see if the problem went away. Have to wait a while, since mine messed with the loading only sporadically.
this fix worked on my cdp-ce525 with the same issue and it wasn't as corroded as your switch. Manufacture date was April 1998. I guess 26 years with no maintenance and a crap ton of abuse is good
Thanks man, you've given me some valid clues. I'm working on the successor model 345. Lot of things have been changed. The selector switch is not made by electro tracks, but has mechanically activated switches. They use does tiny plastic rollers! Shits are so lightweight, the electrostatic of my tweezers keeps messing when trying to put em back in place.
Hey, I actually have the same model and I'm experiencing that same kind of issue, I tried to tear it down to check what the problem comes from, and I still have the same issue after checking this video through every detail of it. But it gave me some ideas to try to resolve all this, a lot of thanks!
Mine is doing the same exact issue. It opens and closes all by itself..i thought i was going to have to call an Exorcist 😂. Thanks for this very helpful video 😊
Great video.. I have an old Sony 5 disc player with this problem..guess ill get the tools out..again.. Found this video very helpful and interesting on how the system works.. Great big thumbs up on this .... From mallorca spain.
Interesting. I did not know the Sony 5 disc had a position switch in it. I've cleaned my Sony unit sensors in the past due to it could not tell it had a disc in the unit and all was well. I used Isopropyl alcohol which probably shouldn't have been used, but it got the dust off and it still works today.
After following this procedure, the tray opens half-way when I press the open button and sicks and will not close until powered off. Any idea what I did wrong?
I have a Sony CDP-C445 five-disc carousel player which appears to have a similar problem to the CDP-CE335 in your video---sometimes on my CDP-C445, a cd will come out of its round tray and sits on the carousel itself. I think this is because after the cd is played, the laser unit drops the cd back onto the carousel even though it is not aligned with the round tray---which causes it to land outside its round tray. This jams the carousel which takes a lot of effort to unjam the carousel and locate the misplaced cd. The problem has occurred maybe 5-6 times in the past year. Any suggestions if this problem is fixable or is it time to buy a new cd player?....if you are agreeable, I can email you about this problem.

Git it working after watching a video that talk about getting the gears in the home position.
I just got one of these at a local good-will for $14 dollars...and wonder if it has the TDA-1541dac chip bc it sounds great to me.
Another good job...
You keep the trade justified.

Sounds like a drawer/mechanism timing issue. The two are out of sync with each other.
I have got a Sony single CD player that has got random drawer closing issue.

I would look at the tray loading belt to see if it is slipping, it may cause it it stop short sometimes.
At the start it looks like it's possessed or drunk ;-)
Cuanto deveria pagar por esa reparacion?
