Solid review, Unbox Papi! Honestly, I think the 2015 Model S still brings a lot to the table in 2024. The tech and range are still impressive, and it feels like a great option if you want the Tesla experience without the new price tag. Nice breakdown, man!
Bought a 2015 P85D this year with 90K miles on the clock. Had all the extras (winterpack, audio, free super charging, tan seats, premium interior, white pearl). Best car I have ever owned. Sure you feel a bit nervous about drive train or battery since it’s out of warranty, but to be honest, the quality and value of this car is so great that I would probably repair it. The car has held up so well from a design perspective that I cannot think of what’s missing. But I also not interested in FSD and I prefer the more old school interior design with the build in portrait touch screen and the sun roof. And the performance lets you accelerate out safely from dangerous situations. It;s a phenomenal car and you can snatch one these days sub 20K. No brainer in my mind. Nice video by the way!
Great video! I went with a 2015 p85d over the new 3 and Y because it just felt like far more value. Its been almost 3 years now with it and i still have no desire to upgrade. Plus the new ones dont have free super charging and sunroof. The adjustable air suspension is amazing. Also, the autopilot 1 is amazing and gives you everything the new ones have except for full self driving, which is still in beta and far from fully working without you having to pay attention anytime soon
I also have a 2015 MS. Long trips? You say no. I say yes. I have traveled the country. Even covered 1,100 miles in one day. Purchased with 60k miles and 263 miles of range. Now at 150k, the battery has degraded to 258 miles of range (over the last 6 years.)
Do you charge mostly at home? I’m very close to buying this next week. I don’t have a home charger and I heard that super charger visits can degrade the battery health over time. Any thoughts on this?
@rafeenaqvi8819 Supercharging does not usually degrade the battery. There are scientific tests showing that. However, Supercharging is 4-5 times more expensive
@@kkitzhaber do you mean supercharging 4-5 per week? I plan on this being my daily driver. Roughly 30 miles round trip. I don’t anticipate charging that much in one week
Just got 1 with 64k miles, transferable supercharging and autopilot with enhanced features. Such a bargin. And under 25k so i should qualify for the federal ev credit.
@UnboxPapi it's my baby. Never selling it. I'm definitely gonna upgrade it in the future when I need too but everything on the car is really good and has not had any issues I'm very grateful for it
Nice video. Performance is indeed out of this world for the money. Would have been great if you had charged it up to 90 per cent and on a safe road run and a couple of passes with a draggy. With this model with the LDU you need to check it has had its rotor coolant delete - if not there is the risk of leaking coolant wrecking the electronics in the inverter. This means a new drive unit. The battery should be good for at least 300,000 miles if charged to 75 per cent for regular use.
i drove to New Jersey from Indiana to purchase a P85D. I and my wife are retired so the P85D is a great fit for us. We have "Insane Plus" mode which delivers 691 horses to all four wheels. For senior citizens, it's quite a thrill (especailly to own). My wife's favorite color is pink, so of course I had to customize the Tesla to make her more comfortable. After all, it's her daily driver aka "Happy wife, happy life". Thanks for the "Unbox" video, keep up the good work. Here's a clip of our P85D:th-cam.com/video/5UpeCqjDW3I/w-d-xo.html

I’m glad you enjoy the car. How many miles have you put on yours?
@@UnboxPapi 3000 so far. Mainly commuting to work.
Make sure to Google coolant delete so your performance motor doesn’t get destroyed

I like to hear all the positive opinions on the car. Thanks for sharing!
We still have the 2015 model S executive edition P85D, it still pack punch on the plus setting. Stop the heat everytime.
Wow I’ve never heard about the executive edition. What’s different?
This is great video. No BS, information dense, but presented in simple terms. Props man, really good job, instant subscribe.
I appreciate that and thanks for the sub!

Yeah I thought about doing draggy after the video. I appreciate you watching and hope you stick around for the next video.
I’ve seen used ones it’s definitely a bargain as far as price but how long will it last.
You made my car famous! Great review brother.
That’s the goal and thanks for watching. Let me know if you have any other cars you want me to make famous!
This car is insane, really solid car
Yeah for being almost ten years old I was impressed!
@@UnboxPapi Definitely impressive!!
Is this worth the buy for you?
When stuff starts breaking it gets really expensive to fix.
That’s definitely something to consider as well. I know electric or “luxury” brands can be expensive when repairs come up.
