    This is so uplifting to see how many of you also suffer with chronic cystitis. I’ve had problems as long as I remember. I just finished a second course of antibiotics for another episode of uti. Since last week i also stopped caffeine completely as this seems to also be a trigger. I will try dmannose.

    I am so with you on the hair-tied back headaches. I cut way back on pony tails during lockdowns and it’s tricky as I do have long hair that gets everywhere but I am sure it was one (of a few changes made at that time) that reduced my headache frequency.
    Also, so with you on AA bath oils.

    I suffered with a UTI feeling for a couple of years and at points I felt like giving up as it made like so insufferable. I also went to various consultants for a while and then they operated on me to widen my urethra. A week after surgery the feeling came back and I hit an all time low. The next time I saw a consultant, they said, "There's nothing more we can do- it's just stress."
    At the time I felt so angry that he had belittled it and wrote it off. However, since understanding that it is a symptom of stress, I can compartmentalise it and I know, for me, it's almost imaginery. It has been a complete game changer!

    • @RuthCrilly

    I'm in the same situation as you with utis. I have a mesh which I swear is causing my problems but the consultants say it isn't. I am taking d mannose too and it is helping. I have instillations booked for May. Not looking forward to that at all. Glad the dmannose is helping you too.

    I was recently beset by yet another UTI and tried D-Manoose. Then took a sleeping pill. Sometime later I googled whether more is more with D-M. I came across an article written by what I now know to be a disreptuable source and took five more tablets.
    I awoke six hours later and shat the bed. More is not more.

    UTI are the worst. Suffered For years until I discovered: Dmannose and... Lubricant! I take the pill and it's often dry down there. Gynecologist suggested that the "mechanical" friction could be a cause. Btw I once made the HUGE mistake to ignore the cystitis and not take the antibiotics: kidney stones, kidney infection (which almost spread to my ovaries), super high fever... Had to take antibiotics shots for weeks and it took almost a month to get better... Never again!

    • @RuthCrilly
      @RuthCrilly  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh that's interesting re the friction x

  • @Kucy12

    Ruth I hope you see this comment! I can absolutely relate to chronic UTI, it is the absolute worst and so debilitating & impossible to explain to anyone who doesn’t suffer. Dmannose has also been life changing for me, after suffering monthly UTI for a year, specialist no help, surgery found nothing, I got onto these and they were life changing. I haven’t had a UTI in over 3 years now.
    HOWEVER, I highly recommend getting to a good acupuncturist or naturopath, after all the antibiotics your gut health is completely out of whack and needs to be rebalanced. Mine has been working on my gut health, and I’m down to dmannose once a day instead of twice (I’ve even had periods of time not taking it at all, but stress will trigger it for me so I haven’t been able to maintain that for a long period of time YET). My acupuncturist is the only health care professional that actually understood and has made a difference, highly recommend!

    Ugh UTIs are the worst - and so difficult to get GPs to take it seriously. I'm part of a chronic UTI group and many people have been helped by Prof Malone Lee's treatment at the Harley Street Clinic. They seem to be leading the way on uti treatment that actually works (and they don't try to diagnose it at a million other things).

    • @chicky6three
      @chicky6three ปีที่แล้ว

      D-M is a "grabber". It's a sugar, the bacteria prefers to cling to it rather than the wall of the urethra. The sugar molecule with the bacteria attached then goes for a ride and is washed out in the pee. This is why we must drink a lot of water, for the water slide. *please take my explanation to be very scientificly thorough.

    • @susieklein7461
      @susieklein7461 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a sugar derivative that binds bacteria which you then pee out.

    The thing I always wonder, with books like that, is do women not realise all that before they have a baby?! Do people just ignore other mothers until they have a child of their own.
