It was actually pretty good! We had one early, one late, but the other 4 were pretty tightly grouped. Overall for my first year of doing AI myself, I’m pretty pleased. Hoping for an even better breeding this next time around!
LOL - Amtrak. When I saw the name Amtrak I was already planning my comment - was going to be something about that heifer always being late - but then I see that is exactly why you named her that! Zephyr, however, should be a speedy animal; probably making a record run between Denver and Chicago. Is one of your milk fever preventions a Bovikalc calcium bolus? We use them with all the calving cows and have virtually eliminated need for IVs after calving.
We do use a calcium bolus, but not specifically Bovikalc. Maybe try that next time. Buttercup has always been a “special” cow… But she’s just so sweet!

6 milking, 2 heifers, 2 beeves, and the 6 new calves from this year.
What kind of calves are they? They look like little red angus calves :)
They are half Red Angus (except for one Black)! When we breed for beef, we really like the Jersey X Angus. Thanks for watching!
