I got johns offer from Chase unlimited last year of matching dollar by dollar for one year and just got my 150k bonus pts last week! (Yes i spent a lot lol) Just surpassed 1 mil pts, ready to start planning trips for 2025!! Guess chase dropped it to only 20k max for this year lol
Wish I had gotten/seen your offer. The extra 30k points on the 20k offer were nice but they don't change the equation. You really cashed in on your SUB and deserve your trips. Take care & have fun!
Awesome roundup! Great emphasis on no annual fee cards for beginners. Quick thought - could you dive deeper into maximizing transferable points for travel in a future video? It’d be super helpful for first-timers navigating reward redemptions.
I have 4.5 years of history, 2 cards, 780 fico score, 0 missed payments, 0/12 0/24. and just got denied for citi custom cash due to not having enough credit history 🙄
Do you pay your card off completely before the statement closing date? If so, then you are reporting 0% credit utilization. That could be the reason they don’t consider your credit history to be extensive enough.
John, I’m having trouble finding the non public offer for the chase card. I recently got this card and would like to be able to add this offer to my card if at all possible. Thanks
Thank you for your videos. Could be possible for you to do a video talking about having a good profile in order to get a 800 credit score? Thank you for your help.
Best way to get a credit card is build a positive bank (debit) account from month to month overtime. Your bank will automatically offer you credit cards. Especially if you have direct deposit from your work.
I only ever do no annual fee cards. I have gotten 15 cards in the last year. Got my first card 2 years and a half ago so i got a total of 16. Im going to the garden for a while and then im going to be really picky on which cards to get
I’m honestly shocked the Freedom Flex wasn’t even an honorable mention. Heck could have made it a seven card video. Cause who doesn’t like a little Bit of luck on their side?💁🏽♂️
i have a capital one plat as my first card and got my first mid score of 640 :/ would i get approved for the savor? i hate not having any benefits and sadly didnt do as much research as i am now lol
Can someone explain me what it means to swipe the card at least 5x every statement cycle please?? More than tell me what it is, it is more "Why" you have to swipe it 5x😅
Hey John I am new to the credit card game and have one big question I can’t find a clear answer to: If I have a card with a $1000 credit limit and I spend $300 then pay the balance and then spend on it more and pay it completely off before the statement close date, does that count as a credit utilization of 30%, more than 30% or 0%?
These Bilt advertisements are annoying on every single channel. How can you recommend it as the best card but it has no sign on bonus? It's because you're getting paid to say that, just like every single personal finance youtuber. Misleading.
Don't owned any Citi cards, BILT or any wells fargo credit cards but would like to apply for the bilt when ever they take mortgages, Citi Strada, custom cash and double cash that's what i'm planning for 2025
@aberobert7752 That’s why they are called beginner credit cards for a reason. Actually, they are fine cards to keep, but of course there will be better cards out there for the seasoned credit card users.
I love fro beginners!
Fro real
haahahh you got me!
But do you have cards fro intermediates?
Unfrotunately not :(
Same haha I have the basics. Looking to upgrade this year, but it's overwhelming with all the options and I don't want to waste an annual fee!
@@johnsfinancetips Dear John, In Thailand, no more Citi ( UOB bought Citi). Do you still recommend using Citi(UOB)?

So you said you had a chase unlimited nonpublic offer and didn't provide it? Is this just a reupload or something?
John, I’m having trouble finding the non public offer for the chase card. I recently got this card and would like to be able to add this offer to my card if at all possible. Thanks

i have a capital one plat as my first card and got my first mid score of 640 :/ would i get approved for the savor? i hate not having any benefits and sadly didnt do as much research as i am now lol

Your credit utilization would be 0% since you have already paid off your whole balance before the statement closing date.
Bilt now gives 2x on groceries
I thought the citi cc hack is fixed
Cap1 venture X is $ 395.00 fee a year. No, thank you.

Gonna say it, a lot of these cards aren't that good
Wat cards you recommend?
@aberobert7752 That’s why they are called beginner credit cards for a reason. Actually, they are fine cards to keep, but of course there will be better cards out there for the seasoned credit card users.
I have all of them except the Wells Fargo Active Cash.
